Your brain cannot tell the difference between a disaster that is happening and one you are only rehearsing. That’s why worst-case-scenario thinking isn’t “just being prepared.” It is building a brain that learns how to stay afraid. Neuroplasticity means you don’t live with the brain you were born with.... show more

Matthew 6:27 “Can any one of you by worrying add a single day to your life?” Being anxious almost seems like it is preparation, but it never helps. Trying to give it to God.

Amen

“Do not fear” is an instruction given to us by God Himself. Thank you for the “Brain Train” lesson!

Amen!🙏

I subscribe to him on YouTube and Christian’s I’m asking you to do the same. I’ve never had as much clarity as I do after watching his videos.

Thank you 🙏

@Deidra8378021 Sooo true. I’ve spent most of my life in fight or flight…. I no longer have to live that way, but that trigger is still there. The closer I get to Christ the calmer my brain gets. Nighttime is usually when it creeps back in 😑

@Deidra8378021 Amen

I love your posts, you are a blessing. I was stuck in fight or flight mode for most of my adult life. Once I changed my thinking my life changed for the better. I no longer suffer from debilitating anxiety and when it rears its ugly head I now have the tools to reset.

Thank you so much.

“What if it works out?” -what a concept! I mean, really!!! Love it!!

Right?

Love your posts Doc, … use your front lobe, stay thankful, keep praying, peaceful … stay positive & problems get solved.

Thank you Dr. Warren. I felt like you were speaking directly to me. I needed that today.

Thank you

We can prepare for some things in life: You can pack a bag for a trip, or a bag for when the baby is about to come. You prepare for negative things as well. Like food, water, and battery backups, in case of an emergency. But when you spiral, and are living in that disasterous moment, you arent allowing yourself to see any of the good things that can happen. Lets say you are imagining a horrible situation at work or with friends or family, and you can only think of the worst possible outcomes. What about the good outcomes? What about a new connection you could make at work, or a new friend? Or you renew a lost connection with a family member? Those moments are so much more filling in our daily lives than any disaster could take away from us. Make the memories, dont rehearse what isnt real. Great post Dr! Thank you

Amen. Thanks!😊

Definitely my favorite internet brain surgeon! Thank you for your posts!! 🙏

Thanks!

Love it!

Thank you, Dr. Warren! As your hands perform miracles, so are your words and faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I needed this message, thank you! ☺️

This is such a kind reminder: the mind rehearses what we give it. I’m holding onto the thought that a little gratitude can gently make more room for peace 🤍🧠

🙏

Thank you for sharing! These post are seriously helping me and my family!🙏 GOD BLESS YOU ❤️

You too!

It’s one thing to imagine worst case scenario it’s another to actually look at facts and plan accordingly.

I've mulled the post here over and decided it's worth considering. For me though surprises give me anxiety. They're a lot unavoidable and still they're definitely some avoidable. So ultimately, i find peace in worst case scenario thinking. It's not something I struggle with and ruminate seemingly endlessly on anymore. It's compartmentalized well for me I feel and usually find success creating a nice peaceful best case scenario for all scenarios and it doesn't seem to take too long and does help me avoid some surprises I think and even deal w surprises better. I always tell myself it could be worse. And think it could be better, and then think would better even be manageable or possibly make things worse. Ultimately, some things are like mindless fun exercise and other things are like things where one could lose life and limb and i like to mind trying keep all my life and limbs best. It doesn't give me anxiety it reminds me of peace.

Thank you 🙏

Thank you!🙏

You are sent by God. Thank you sir so much. God is good 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thanks!

It is about getting the pattern out of the nervous system. Brain work is only half the solution.

Think about it and Functional Neurological Disorder

I believe in abundant living and by His grace I live as such. Christ is sufficient in every circumstances whether good, bad or ugly. Once transformed like that NOTHING can take that joy away.

Yes!

Wow, i didnt expect you to quote Paul! Thank you Dr.

🙏

Just downloaded your book and I’m listening to it on Audible. Loving it!

Thank you!

Gratitude is the only disposition that got me through an enormously heavy and devastating 4 year span of my life. Love your messages Dr. Warren.

Thanks!

Spiraling and getting stuck in the worst case is bad, but thinking of the worst case and realizing it would not kill you allows you to let it go.

Threat simulation is the interesting bit: imagined and real events can recruit overlapping alarm circuitry, even as context and prediction modulate the response. The gap between rehearsal and reality is where the wry neuroscience lives.

And we are constantly made to be afraid by our corporate media and its ownership - makes a lot more sense now

Beautiful. Thank you. ❤️
