I toss the ball and reach way out in front of me to catch it. That’s what late looks like. The ball already beat you… now you’re chasing it with your hands. Then I toss another one and catch it slightly behind me. That’s being on time and letting the ball get deep. When you’re late, your body and barrel are reacting after the ball passes your window. Enjoy this journey while you can. There will be a day when you don’t have anyone to throw with or lift with or play pickup racquetball and then hit the sauna after with. There will be a day when you can’t immediately roll from your workout into breakfast/lunch/dinner with 8 of your best friends. There will be a day when disputes cannot be settled with a game of madden, 2K or the show. You will realize that showing up late for work pales in comparison to the fear you had about showing up late to the field or the weight room. You can say that you’ll still train hard, keep yourself in shape, hold YOURSELF accountable. It’s easy to say when you have a goal you’re working towards with a collective group. But when you don’t have that, damn it gets hard. So enjoy it. Take advantage of the time and the energy. For some guys it happens after 6 years of pro ball. For others it happens after 4 years of college. But it will leave you. Let me repeat that: IT WILL LEAVE YOU AND IT SUCKS WHEN IT DOES.

Grip a club in your lead hand. Observe how twisting your forearm changes the angle of the face. This is largely what controls where your ball flies. Small differences in this angle lead to huge changes in shot direction. This precision is not being trained in the gym with “golf exercises”. Poor control of this face angle is what leads to a whole host of swing issues. More so than physical limitations. For example, it is far more likely you come over the top in an effort to stop the ball going right because your face is wide open and you’ve seen the ball go right the last 5000 times than it is you lack hip or shoulder mobility. It would be beneficial for me as a trainer to say otherwise, but I just don’t believe it to be true. Use the gym to work on your physical capabilities. Improve your mobility, strength, and power. These are the things you are losing as you age. Leave the swing mechanics for your practice and golf lessons. If you try to “fix your swing in the gym” you will likely do a poor job of training your swing and your body.

Is your toddler suddenly throwing (or dropping) everything they get their hands on? Food, toys… you name it. You’re not alone. This week I’ve been introducing play schemas, 9 common patterns that can help to demystify your toddler’s seemingly random behaviors. And you guessed it: this is one. We call it the trajectory schema. If you take nothing else away from this post, let it be this: your little one doesn’t throw things because they are misbehaving or “bad.” Babies throw things because they are babies. And they are learning as they do so. Learning about cause and effect. Learning about gravity. Learning what (and practicing something new) they can do with their bodies. Learning hand-eye coordination. It’s a completely normal part of development. And the fascination won’t last forever. The real question is, how do you manage it? First, be proactive. Expect that anything your little one handles might reasonably be thrown or dropped. So choose wisely, avoiding items that are valuable or might pose a danger to them or others if they suddenly took flight. Second, depending on the age of your child, begin introducing some natural consequences. Put the toy/object away temporarily after it is thrown (if throwing it is dangerous or inappropriate). And involve your child in the subsequent clean-up. You can also redirect. Explain which things are and are not for throwing. Model the correct use of these objects. Finally, lean into it. Recognizing that young children are drawn to throwing, provide items that are safe and acceptable to throw. Soft toys. Socks. Balls. I came across this clip of Carlos Alcaraz doing this simple but effective drill to help with his ball toss when serving It immediately made me think about how these amazing players in ANY sport don't skip the basics I see it everyday with golf, the recreational golfer isn't willing to do the smallest, most basic things in order to help themselves acheive their goals They say they want one thing but their actions don't show they will achieve it Golfers always want to hit driver as hard as they can, they skip the importance of setting up to the ball correctly, they don't like changing their terrible grip because it "feels weird" Yet the best tennis player on the planet is working on his ball toss in order to ensure he can serve the ball to the best of his abilities It's these 1% efforts that can help you achieve exactly what you want. Don't skip them & when a coach asks you to do them, there's a reason we want you to listen and do them. They are important

So my elder brother booked an appointment for me at the The Perfume Bar 🇳🇬 and it was a most amazing experience. You get to choose your scent and make your own perfume. So my elder brother booked an appointment for me at the The Perfume Bar 🇳🇬 and it was a most amazing experience. You get to choose your scent and make your own perfume. Then give it a name of your choosing. I had fun doing it. The beauty of it is that, no one gets to smell like you 😊 It is a beautiful place with a beautiful experience, and a wonderful customer service. You should go with your friend or partner.

This local from Corpus Christi beach tells everyone to please not feed the seagulls. She says that’s a message from all the locals there. However, a great many of the locals chimed in and said go ahead and feed them. Live your best life, and that many of them take their own kind of food to feed the seagulls. One person said, be that person! Experience ljoy and happiness, feed the birds. ❤️ We used to go to West Beach in Galveston where you can drive on the beach. We would load up some crumbs and sit on the back of the tailgate and drive and feed the seagulls with them following us. The kids always loved it. Life is short.
