Uttrakhand: Violence erupts in Haldwani after Madrasa demolition; Shoot at sight ordered Communal tension gripped #Haldwani's Banbhulpura area on Thursday evening following demolition of a madrasa & an underground prayer structure that were allegedly "illegally" constructed on Govt land. According to officials, a joint team from the Nainital district administration and local civic authorities undertook the demolition on Nazool land, leading to protests from enraged Muslims. Reports indicate that the situation escalated quickly as angry locals began protesting. Reportedly some police officers and district administration officials sustained injuries. The district administration has imposed a curfew in the restive Banbhulpura area and all roads leading to it have been barricaded. The state government has issued orders authorising law enforcement to use lethal force against unruly elements and even shoot rioters on sight. Govt said that the administration's action was in response to a court order, as they embarked on an anti-encroachment drive in the area. SSP Prahlad Meena said the madrasa demolition took place after a prior notice to the residents. The demolition was carried out in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay, City Magistrate Richa Singh, SDM Paritosh Verma, he added. Uttarakhand DGP Abhinav Kumar said, "As of now, the situation is under control. No casualties reported yet. The situation is tense but under control. In the days to come, the people behind the incident will be identified and action will be taken against them." neeraj santoshi khar reports for Hindustan Times

The residents of Bukoto Katende Zone state that the situation is not acceptable on any level and urge Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to listen to the noise, saying that they cannot sleep. They add that residents along Kisota Road and surrounding communities also cannot sleep, and tell National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) that a bulldozer is not needed for this issue. They explain that a bar has been built in what is clearly a wetland in their residential neighborhood land that used to serve as parking yards for trucks and is operating every single night with blaring music and shouting on microphones, showing complete disregard for the people living there. They say that families cannot sleep, there is no peace, and there is no enforcement. The residents point out that the wetland was not cleared quietly, but in broad daylight over time, under KCCA’s watch. They note that evidence has been shared and complaints have been raised, yet nothing has been done. They ask where the City Public Health Department, enforcement, and accountability are. They emphasize that the issue is bigger than noise, describing it as environmental destruction, public health negligence, and a failure of duty. The residents stress that a wetland is not just empty land, as it protects the city from flooding, supports ecosystems, and is legally protected. They warn that allowing it to be grabbed and turned into a noise-polluting commercial space sets a dangerous precedent that laws and communities do not matter. They further argue that when a bar operates nightly at full volume in a residential area with no intervention, it sends a clear message that enforcement is optional which, they insist, it is not. The residents call on Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to do its job by shutting down illegal operations in protected wetlands, enforcing noise regulations immediately, responding to citizen reports in real time, and restoring order to protect the environment and give residents back their right to peace at night. They state that the situation is ongoing, visible, and documented, and urge KCCA to listen to the noise levels from across the road where Gen. Wamala was shot. They conclude that the matter demands action immediately. Cc: Eddie Okila(One of the residents)

UPDATE On The Lahaina, Maui Fire Victims In Hawaii Victims Are Having To Bounce Around From Hotel To Hotel While Still Being Charged Mortgages On Their Destroyed Homes & Get This, “Residents are being sued for trying to build mobile homes on their own property.” “No one is talking about the Lahaina fire anymore. So let me tell you what's going on as told by locals. Since the fire, locals are saying that the city is not approving building permits, so they cannot rebuild their homes. The US government won't allow insurance adjusters to take pictures or visit homes, so insurance payouts are still being processed. Residents are being sued for trying to build mobile homes on their own property. The banks are still charging mortgage payments, and with people falling behind on their payments, the banks are gonna repossess their land. Many Maui residents are being shuffled around from hotel to hotel. They can't unpack. They can't get settled, and they can even start building a new life almost half a year later. Maui's mayor, Josh Green, and the city council are trying to force Airbnb owners to convert their properties into long term rentals for displaced residents. Isn't that interesting, moving away from private ownership and leaving rentals as the only option. So much about the Lahaina fire situation gives 15 minute city vibes. It screams land grabs and marxism. It has Longman said that the Hawaiian Islands act as control groups and the Hawaiians as unwitting test subjects for the US government. As for the cause of the fire, we still don't have a cause. The official story was that the hurricane winds down at the power line, but the CEO of the local utility, Hawaiian Electric, says their power lines knocked down by the high winds appeared to have caused a fire that same morning of August 8th, but she said she was told by the Maui County Fire Department that it was put out, and that their company is not responsible for the fire that later swept Lahaina. So the fire department put it out, reported it to Hawaiian Electric, and then later we have a fire that destroys the entire town. So where did that fire come from?”
