It’s why they’re increasingly involving North Korea—and in a matter of days, North Korean soldiers may join the battlefield against Ukraine. Ukraine could soon be forced to fight North Korean troops in Europe. These are the conditions we face, where a lack of stronger decisions from our partners to support Ukraine only encourages Putin to invest further in terror. The world can stop this war from unfolding. Words and abstractions are not enough. Concrete steps are needed. We have outlined all such steps in the Victory Plan—the actions that will prevent the aggressors from becoming even more emboldened. We expect greater pressure on Russia. We expect stronger support for Ukraine. This is only fair. And as time passes without action, there are, sadly, constant Russian strikes and continued loss of life.

I am grateful to the leaders and representatives of nations who refuse to turn a blind eye and speak openly about this dangerous collaboration aimed at increasing the scale of the war. About the supply of weapons from North Korea to Russia. About how Russia might repay Pyongyang for this assistance. Unfortunately, the instability and threats could increase significantly once North Korea learns the tactics of modern warfare. I thank everyone around the world who has responded to the arrival of North Korean soldiers in Russia—and especially those who have responded not only with words but are preparing actions in support of our defense here in Ukraine. Unfortunately, terror can spread like a virus when it faces insufficient resistance. Now, that resistance must be strong — enough to counter this threat. The first battles with North Korean soldiers mark a new chapter of global instability. Together with the world, we must do everything to ensure that this Russian step toward expanding the war—this true escalation—becomes a loss. A loss for Russia and North Korea alike.

Russia not only sends the North Korean troops to storm Ukrainian positions, but also tries to conceal losses of these people. They tried to hide the presence of North Korean soldiers. It was prohibited to show their faces during training. The Russians attempted to erase any video evidence of their presence. And now, after first combats with our warriors, Russians are trying… to literally burn the faces of North Korean soldiers killed in battle. This is a demonstration of disrespect, which is currently prevalent in Russia, a disrespect to everything human. There is not a single reason for North Koreans to fight and die for Putin. And even after they do, Russia has only humiliation for them. This madness must be stopped—stoped by a reliable and durable peace, as well as Russia’s accountability for this cynical war.

ZELENSKYY: What do you think if Iran, from the first year of the war, gave new technology to Russia? It was Shahed drones. They gave thousands of these drones in the first year of the war, and then they gave licenses. What did they do? Did they attack us? I think yeah. So, they already did it. We have to be cautious. Today marks six months of the Kursk operation. With our active operations on Russian territory, we have brought the war home to Russia. That is where they must feel what war truly means. And they do. I thank every Ukrainian warrior and every unit involved in operations in the Kursk region. They have shown the world that, even with limited resources, we can act decisively, unexpectedly, and effectively. We continue to expose Russia’s bluff for what it is. We are defending our cities—Sumy and Kharkiv—and significantly increasing our exchange fund. Hundreds of Russian soldiers are now in our captivity—soldiers we will change to bring Ukrainians home from Russian prisons. Among the captured are also North Korean soldiers—they were wounded in battle, with severe injuries, and are now receiving medical treatment. Their presence is undeniable proof that Putin has drawn yet another country into this war—North Korea—and is training them in modern warfare. This poses a threat to everyone, especially to every nation in East Asia. I am grateful to all our partners who understand how crucial it is to stop Russia now, so that there is no need to fight in years to come.

In my opinion, South Korea should cooperate more closely with Ukraine. We would like to receive support from South Korea to address the shortages we have, such as air defense systems. In return, we are ready to cooperate with South Korea on drones and other areas. We are ready to work more closely. However, South Korea has legal restrictions under its constitution, so it's their choice. We would like to cooperate.

The Donetsk directions remain the toughest, with updates from Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions as well. There are details regarding the situation in the Kursk region: battles involving North Korean soldiers. They are suffering heavy losses, and it’s evident that the Russian military and their North Korean overseers have no interest in these soldiers’ survival. Everything is done in a way to prevent these North Koreans from being captured by us—their own side finishes them off; there are such facts. Moreover, Russians send them into assaults with minimal protection. Today, we received reports that several North Korean soldiers were taken prisoner by our forces. However, they were severely wounded, and it was not possible to save them. This is one of the manifestations of the madness dictatorships are capable of. The people of North Korea should not be losing their lives in battles in Europe. This can be influenced, among others, by North Korea’s neighbors, particularly China. If China is sincere in its statements that the war should not expend, it needs to exert the necessary influence on Pyongyang.
