We are continuing to work with our American partners at all levels to ensure that the Ukraine aid package is passed by the US Senate on time. Both the President’s Office and our diplomats are actively working to ensure a positive political outcome of the swift approval, as well as a positive outcome of the package itself, which should include the items that our warriors on the front lines expect so much. The time between political decisions and actual damage to the enemy on the front lines, between the package's approval and our warriors' strengthening, must be as short as possible. This strength must be the one capable of truly changing the situation on the frontlines. Frontline air defense is just as important as protection for our cities and villages. Our long-range capabilities, artillery, and ability to expand our area of control are all important. Every day is important now, in terms of communication, politics, and logistics. And I am grateful to all of our friends in the United States, as well as our partners around the world, who see common opportunities and tasks in the same way that we do in Ukraine. Together, we must stop Russian terror by all means, limit Russia's terror potential, and force Putin to admit the obvious: this war will yield no results for him.

This week alone, Russia used more than 3,000 strike drones against our cities and communities – a significant portion of them “shaheds” – as well as over 1,450 guided aerial bombs and 40 missiles of various types. The Russians are not dialing back their war effort against our state and our people, and at the same time, they are openly investing in prolonging another war that is driving global destabilization. Ukraine is being attacked with essentially the same strike drones as those used against countries in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Ballistic weapons are used against us just as cynically as they are against our partners. The destabilization of global markets and the blocking of maritime routes have not left a single country unaffected. We are making our contribution to guaranteeing security. And it is important that the world does not lose time or opportunities. Clear, decisive, and coordinated efforts are needed to provide real protection for life and to stop wars. We need to build joint and modern defense systems proven in war. We must develop joint production of modern and effective weapons. Russia is carrying out hundreds of strikes against Ukrainian cities and communities, attacking our civilian infrastructure every day. This past week alone, the Russians have launched 1,920 attack drones, 1,790 guided aerial bombs, and 17 missiles of various types against Ukraine. We need to step up our countermeasures against these attacks. We are preparing for meetings with partners to strengthen our defense against this Russian terror. The G7, EU, and NATO summits are ahead. And it is very important that these negotiations result in concrete decisions. We expect meaningful meetings with our partners. First and foremost, we need support for air defense and our long-range capabilities, an expansion of cooperation in the Drone Deals format, and further strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia. The Russian army has turned our cities and villages in the Donetsk region and beyond into ruins. And this is exactly what we are fighting to stop. We are fighting against death – the death that Russia is bringing to our land. We must not allow Russia to blur reality or mislead the world. Moscow must be forced into diplomacy. We need a ceasefire. We need real peace. We need real security. We must use every method available to achieve this – our front line and our defense, our production and technology, our work to build a real security architecture. We must be effective in all of it. I said this in my address to the participants of the Ramstein meeting. I thank everyone who is helping. Glory to Ukraine!

Last night, the Russians launched a massive strike on Odesa. There was no military purpose whatsoever – this was pure terror against ordinary civilian life. Over 60 drones were used in the strike on the city. Sadly, there is extensive damage. Among the sites hit were a maternity hospital, ordinary residential buildings, businesses, as well as the port and critical infrastructure. Our services continue to work on the ground wherever needed, providing assistance. Tragically, as of now, one person has been reported killed. My condolences to their family and loved ones. More than ten people have been wounded, including a child. There were also strikes overnight in the Poltava and Dnipro regions. Each such strike proves that Russia has no intention of ending this war. That is why any easing of pressure on it is dangerous. And coordinated efforts to protect people and lives will help us, help our country’s defense and our diplomacy. I thank all our partners who are working with us and supporting our people. We are working with everyone to give our country more strength and more capacity to protect life in Ukraine every day and every night: our cities and villages, our infrastructure. Collective defense and coordinated action can deliver the most effective results.

This is a battle where everything is clear. There are no gray zones here. And there are also deep Christian meanings in this – in how we defend ourselves, in how we get assisted, in how our people help each other in any circumstances. In how repair crews work day and night, under shellings, in minus 20 degrees, to make sure enemy strikes do not destroy life and that light returns. We fight every day so that darkness loses. So it’s important for us to have enough air defense for safe sky. It is important for us to support our people and recover after strikes. We need about 1,000 interceptors a day, and we can supply at least another 1,000 a day to our allies. Second, we know how to build radar and acoustic coverage to respond to how “shaheds” and other drones approach. Third, we have software that allows radars to keep working even under electronic warfare jamming. In real time, we analyze enemy frequencies and respond to them. And because of this system, we understand how effective our defense is against almost every attack drone, and we can move our positions and air defense to get better results. This iPad gives full control of the situation because we have a system for using our defense tools. If a “shahed” needs to be stopped in the Emirates – we can do it. If it needs to be stopped in Europe or the United Kingdom – we can do it. It is a matter of technology, investment, and cooperation. Russian losses just since the start of this counter-offensive – in the Pokrovsk area alone, in these past weeks – are already more than 2,500, of which over 1,300 have been killed. Ukraine is rightfully defending its positions and its land. This is a heroic defense. I am proud of our warriors. I am proud of our people. In this war Ukraine finds protection against every Russian treachery. We are thwarting every Russian plan to destroy our state. Our defense is always active. We have proven that Ukrainians can achieve the necessary results even when many around the world expect results from Russia. I thank all Americans who work in defense enterprises and every state that manufactures weapons that are now really protecting democracy and our way of life. All of the current cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, as well as every sign of support for our protection, is strengthening both of our nations. They also strengthen all of our partners and the entire world, which wants to live by the rules rather than under conditions of violence and terror.
