If you want accountability, take the ticket, don’t mention you have it on camera. Then call a lawyer. Arguing one on one on the side of the road is always stupid.

If we go to court the cops ass is creamed. He should be holding himself more accountable. Damn badge giving him an ego boost and he thinks he’s above the law. Dashcam will shut that shit down. Honestly I might have just hit the cop. At no point was I the individual that failed to maintain my lane. Crossing the white line is one thing but crossing the yellow line can result in harming others.

what sucks about this is even when you win and ticket gets dismissed. you still lose because most likely had to take time away from work that you’re being docked sick or pto. I think when that happens the PD should have to reimburse lost wages.

Dash cams are so cheap nowadays you are crazy if you don’t have one in your car. I’d also recommend getting one with a built-in GPS because if you get pulled over for speeding, you can literally prove whether you “were or not” with the footage & recorded speed. But even beyond that if you get into an accident or someone hits your car, it’s no longer your word against theirs. You have proof in video. Also remember that dash cams record audio so if someone hits you and takes off, you don’t have to get insanely close, just close enough to get their car in video and then just read their license plate out loud so that it’s recorded to your dash cam. My Wife witnessed a drunk driver crash into another car and takeoff and did exactly that. She followed the car, read the license plate and then went back to the scene of the crime and gave the footage to the officer. We later found out that the officer tracked down the person at their home and they tried to say that the other car hit them, but it was on video so they just dug their hole deeper.😬 Anyways, that was a really long comment 🤣🤣🤣 Just go get a dash cam!

Wow that cop’s a moron. He also has cameras and the footage can be requested. He just got all in his feelings for getting honked at.

And then police would justify shooting him in the back if it escalated land the guy ran, all due to the officer on a power trip abusing his badge who should be arrested and fired. Officers should never abuse their badge or their trust

This is why everyone should have a dash cam in 2025. Sadly this type of thing happens many times each day but are not caught on camera.

They lie so easily. They know the system is rigged in their favor and judges and qualified immunity will protect them.

This is a large percentage of American police. They'll pull this shit, then destroy your life making sure you're in court every 2 weeks

Cop butthurt syndrome. Cop feels "disrespected" because a guy honked at him for crossing over a double yellow into his lane. Happens all the time. Cops hate being called out for the shit they write other people up for all day long. Because they're hypocrite assholes.

"People don't understand the actual law here, he is 100% allowed to cross the center line." -@vlad27fan I think that's beside the point. The legality of police vehicles crossing the centre line is irrelevant because the police officer's driving still has to meet a standard of safety constrained by the conditions on the road at the time - arguably a slippery slope in court (pun not intended). The issue at hand is that the officer led the traffic stop by accusing the driver of crossing the centre line when it was the other way round. Therefore the police officer did not have reasonable articulable suspicion nor probable cause that an infraction had occurred. I agree that the driver shouldn't have honked his horn in contempt or behave irate as a matter of etiquette towards those that risk their lives in the course of their duties (even if he was having a bad day) but that pales in comparison to corrupt behavior by an officer of the law.

This is why I hate police. They can know they are lying or in the wrong and they will still abuse their power to fine, cage or kill you, knowing full well they are lying. Then they have the audacity to want to be called heroes. Bootlickers will still find a way to defend this pig
