Wonder if something like this is used to unspool low tc resistance wire for wirewounds. Not sure how much of an effect the mechanical stresses of unspooling the wire would be but surely its enough to warrant at least consideration for the highest performance resistors.

Should have looked at the label on the spool, now that I see it, it looks like Molecuwire. Did you ever figure out a way to reliability weld NiCr alloys to copper?
