Deep inside the mountains water is pumped 400 meters by solar and wind power from a lower to an upper reservoir. When the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing or there is peak energy demand, energy from the hydro turbines is released into the grid. The plant is huge, but fit well into the terrain showing we can build big and respect nature all the same. It creates a seemless system of solar, wind and hydro 24 hours a day. This is the future of green energy!

And I find it ridiculous the wind glazers mischaracterize the whole "wind aura" or "wind attacks" as if Sonic physically can control wind like some sort of Air Bender when in reality the wind is the aftermath of his speed, a basic reaction of physics. Came across this awesome innovation to harness the power of the wind through tulip shaped wind turbines ! Flower Turbines, based in the US and the Netherlands is installing small flower shaped windmills which pose no danger to birds and other wildlife, particularly in urban settings. The company claims that they create very low noise which is undetectable to humans. This “eco-art” turbine is supposedly cost effective & easy to install making wind energy available for everybody. We must look at these options at #TNClimateMission

China is the world’s top producer of Wind turbines. Official figures put installed capacity at 640 Gigawatts in 2025 But that’s capacity. Wind doesn’t blow all year. What did the Wind Turbines actually generate? About 1,000 Terrawatt-Hours (TWh). That’s 1 Trillion Kilowatt-Hours (kWh) That’s about 22 times Nigeria’s entire output. Average 5,000MW over a year x 8,760 hours is 43.8 TWh What about the cost of building an onshore wind Turbine? A 5 Megawatt Wind Turbine costs about $4m - $5m according to IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency) The Turbine alone isn’t enough.
