Four Republican Senators abstained on the bill, which killed the bill, at the behest of leading Pro-Life organizations such as SC Citizens for Life, Palmetto Family, and Students for Life of America | Pro-Life Gen. A Georgia mom took abortion pills to end the life of her two twins, suffered sepsis as a complication of the abortion pill, and died because parts of her dead babies were still inside of her. It is absolutely disgusting that now the pro-abortion media is claiming it’s the fault of pro-life laws. But the reality is the opposite: it’s pro-abortion laws that helped end Amber and her babies’ lives. If the abortion pills weren’t on the market, Amber and her twins would be alive today. Dr Tinashe Hofisi, a Zimbabwean human rights lawyer and legal scholar currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Karsh Institute of Democracy at the University of Virginia, recently joined an interesting debate on Constitutional Amendment Bill N0.3 with Professor Jonathan Moyo. Leading up to the Primary Election, I agreed to FIVE DEBATES against my Primary opponents. Last night, I issued a challenge to Elizabeth Warren to also agree to FIVE single issue debates, including one regarding women’s reproductive rights and abortion. The country faces multiple crises and trying to cram all the issues into two short debates is a disservice to voters. Everyone should be requesting Elizabeth Warren to ACCEPT the challenge. You can’t claim you’re a fighter for women and that women’s reproductive rights is the most important issue on the ballot and then NOT agree to debate me on that very issue.

It’s remarkable to hear Democrats accuse us of “cheating” in elections while simultaneously opposing the SAVE America Act, legislation designed to ensure that only U.S. citizens vote in federal elections. Every legal vote deserves to be protected, and that begins with ensuring that only eligible citizens cast ballots. That’s NOT voter suppression. That’s election integrity. The debate over the SAVE America Act ultimately comes down to a simple question: Should American elections be decided exclusively by American citizens? At least in the House of Representatives, we’ve answered that question with a resounding yes.

Amber’s tragic death was a direct result of Georgia's archaic and dangerously restrictive abortion laws, which denied her the life-saving care she so desperately needed. We strongly condemn the republican platform that seeks to further restrict women’s access to necessary healthcare under the false guise of protection. We are grieving an unimaginable loss that no family should have to endure. We must continue to fight against laws that put women’s lives at risk, and we are grateful to leaders like Governor Walz who advocate for common sense laws while exhibiting such compassion.
