If fear of investigation is the reason for the 2030 Movement then it makes sense. I don't believe that incumbents should prosecute their predecessors. It will scare the beejeezus off anyone stepping down. Presidential immunity is key to a democratic change of power.

It is a method of staying in power that relies on brute force and the complete disregard for democratic principles.
