Key highlights from the remarks by the Chief of Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces during his inspection of the forces stationed on the front lines: September 1, 2026 ▪︎ The operation to clear the area of the insurgency in the next phase will proceed without interruption, involving all forces, whether those stationed in their positions or those deployed on the front lines. ▪︎ The Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed) carried out systematic killings in Geneina, El Fasher, and Blue Nile State on an ethnic basis. ▪︎ The Sudanese state and the Sudanese Armed Forces are fighting to protect civilians, not out of a desire for revenge. They are a professional, national army, unlike the Janjaweed militia, which is owned by individuals.
