This makes sense everywhere but with cocktails. Some of the ppl in this clip are complaining about ice spears. Theres a very childbrained belief that you'll get more liquor if you ask for less ice. You're not gonna get more of anything & the dilution (necessary) will be off

That's why I always say no ice, the reaction I get is amazing. What do you mean no ice, we have to put ice in the drink! I just say I have sensitive teeth so no ice in the drink. They always have to push the button twice for the auto filling machines.

Do people really not understand this is a known thing? Ice takes up volume in the cup therefore causing the cup to be filled with less drink…. It’s like Boone paid attention in school

Because most of those are espresso shots and cocktails, part of the ingredient composition is ice or water, if those are served just with the actual shots of alcohol or coffee it won't even fill up a thirds of a cup.

The last time I asked for no ice at @dunkindonuts , they rudely told me if I was doing that to get extra it wouldn't work cause they're still giving me the same amount. I told them I just don't want a cup full of ice. They then filled my cup like halfway.

These "no ice" people are a menace to society because now these places don't know how much ice to give you. Sometimes you get three cubes, which melt and leave you with warm iced coffee. How about getting your drink with normal ice, and if you want more, buy another one.

Have had this happen quite often at dunkin… (this was after the drink melted some, and the damn cup is almost full).

That’s why I ask for light ice and if they give me anything more than just the tiny part of ice I go back in and ask for less ice.

The small has ice too so by default you get less liquid anyway.
