“Wallah, we will rise in a revolution just as we rose in a revolution against Assad’s regime. We will never accept what is happening. And we are the eastern region. (President Al-Shara) should go and ask about it.” - Angry Syrians at a protest in Syria’s Raqqa province, which was under the control of the PKK’s arm militia in Syria (SDF), following the government’s failure to address their demands to free their unjustly held relatives in the militia’s prisons in Hasakah, and the government’s appointment of a militia leader who committed crimes against them to a position in the government.

After 3 unforgettable years in the Eastern Province, I leave with deep gratitude for the friendships, partnerships, and opportunities that defined my time here. It has been an honor to support U.S.-Saudi commercial ties, work alongside incredible partners, and see the ambition driving this region forward firsthand. Above all, I will remember the people who welcomed me so warmly. Shukran min al-qalb — شكرًا من القلب. Until we meet again. 🇺🇸🇸🇦

Tomorrow there will a mass protest in Montgomery. Alabamians of all walks of life will be standing up against the MAGA establishment that seeks to DELETE minority representation in our state. AL is the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement, and we should ALL be proud of that.

On 1 June, I exposed a R38 million borehole in Waterworks that the City drilled and abandoned in October 2025. Today, I returned and announced that we’re finishing what the City of Joburg refused to do. With the help of generous Joburgers, we will ensure this borehole project is complete so that the people here can finally have water. #BelieveInJoburg #Zille4Mayor
