Preliminary information indicates the incident followed a series of earthquake tremors (approximately 4.6 magnitude) recorded between 1:40 AM and 4:30 AM on 9 July 2026. The exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed technical and site inspection. There are no injuries reported and NHAI has implemented immediate safety measures on the site. The affected portion has been barricaded, temporary traffic arrangements put in place, and restoration work has been initiated to reinstate safe conditions at the earliest. NHAI is closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary measures based on the findings of the technical assessment to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the National Highway infrastructure.
