@otani_ai_memo Uh, the region lock/security information is encoded in the E/F photodiodes (tracking). To obtain this data in the correct speed it is forced to switch back to 1x speed, that gives away when it is checking for the secuirty data. And because it checks twice, he need to double swap.

This was the standard initial swap technique we all used for a month or so back in '95. Then it turns out you just need to go to the music screen, when the disc stops spinning, change it, exit the screen and the game loads as normal. Much better for thr disc drive. Note with both of these techniques it often messes with the music placement.

@otani_ai_memo Par contre bien précisé que cette technique défonce la console ! Des Action Replay et des disques de boot sont sortis plus tard pour justement arrêter le disque et permettre de swapper sans risque. Et pourquoi double ? Booter l'original suffisait !
