I think Kagura Mutsuki is a fantastic character for many different reasons. One of his greatest strengths, in particular, is his overwhelming charisma. 👑 Kagura has a natural ability to draw people toward him and bring together people from different positions and backgrounds. I think this is one of the most interesting aspects of his role in the story of BLAZBLUE. Throughout the story, Kagura works together with many different characters. In some cases, he even brings together people who normally would have almost no reason to interact with one another. A scene that really demonstrates this is the famous dinner scene in BLAZBLUE: Chrono Phantasma. Ragna, Jin, Celica, Rachel, Kagura, and Noel—all characters who would normally be doing their own separate things—sit down and have a meal together. When I watched this scene, I genuinely found myself smiling. It was really enjoyable seeing all of these characters, who would normally be active in completely different places, gathered together and interacting with one another. Because Kagura is there, situations arise where characters who normally would have almost no interaction with each other are able to spend time together. That is why I think Kagura serves as an important force that connects the different characters. And in BLAZBLUE: Central Fiction, Kagura's importance becomes even more apparent. He plays a major role in helping Ragna understand that he does not have to carry everything by himself. Ragna is a great protagonist, but at the same time, he has a tendency to try to shoulder everything on his own. Kagura directly confronts this way of thinking and helps Ragna realize that sometimes he needs someone by his side. There is even a moment in the story where Ragna himself acknowledges Kagura by saying, "You're amazing." Considering how Ragna normally views himself and the people around him, I think those words carry quite a lot of meaning. Honestly, even if Ragna had not been the protagonist, I would not have found it strange at all if Kagura had taken on the role of protagonist instead. Kagura has charisma, strength, leadership, connections, and an extremely distinctive personality. I think he has more than enough qualities to carry a story almost entirely on his own. Kagura also deserves a lot of credit for helping the other characters throughout the story. He is not simply a powerful character who appears whenever it is time for a battle and defeats the enemy. He is also someone who manipulates various events from behind the scenes in order to accomplish his goals. For example, in BLAZBLUE: Chrono Phantasma, Kagura helps create a situation that ultimately allows Jin, Noel, and Makoto to confront the brainwashed Tsubaki and save her. His actions are not limited to a single event. He puts together plans consisting of multiple stages, and he is even willing to put himself in complicated situations if it means eventually achieving the outcome he wants. In the official story, Kagura is also portrayed as the leader of the rebellion against the Imperator. He works together with characters such as Kokonoe, Jin, Noel, and Ragna in an effort to change the political situation in Ikaruga. Another major reason I like Kagura is his confident yet extremely easygoing personality. He fully understands how powerful he is and how important his position is. Even so, he does not seem to feel the need to constantly prove his abilities to everyone. I think that carefree and laid-back attitude is one of Kagura's greatest charms. The official character description for BLAZBLUE: Central Fiction captures this aspect of him particularly well. He is portrayed as someone who understands that he stands at the top, while still being carefree and somewhat difficult to read. Of course, Kagura's confidence does not simply come from the fact that he holds a high-ranking position. It is also because he himself is an exceptionally capable warrior. The nickname "Black Knight" suits Kagura perfectly. He truly possesses overwhelming combat ability. In BLAZBLUE: Chrono Phantasma Extend, he has a sparring match with Jin, who is known as the "Hero of Ikaruga," and defeats him. Kagura has also defeated Ragna, the "Grim Reaper." That alone is already impressive, but what makes it even more interesting is that Kagura confidently states that he is stronger than Ragna when Ragna is not relying on the Azure Grimoire or the power of BlazBlue. In other words, Kagura's reputation is not based solely on his position or titles. He genuinely possesses the ability necessary to back those titles up. According to the official settings, Kagura is portrayed as someone without any shortcomings when it comes to either politics or martial arts. His exceptional skill with his massive sword is also connected to titles such as "Black Knight" and "Black Gale." That is why I think the title "Black Knight" suits Kagura so well. He is a knight not simply because he wears cool-looking clothes or possesses an impressive title. He takes on the responsibility of protecting people and fights for what he believes is right. That is precisely what makes the word "knight" so fitting for him. At the same time, the contrast between this serious and responsible side of him and his rather ridiculous personality is what makes Kagura even more entertaining as a character. And this brings me to one of the things I especially love about Kagura. He is quite forward with women. I really like this aspect of his personality because I think it makes Kagura an even more entertaining character. Furthermore, his official character profile even lists alcohol and women among the things he likes. In other words, his womanizing is hardly some kind of hidden aspect of his personality. Overall, I think Kagura is a truly fantastic character for BLAZBLUE. He fits so naturally into the cast, and if a new BLAZBLUE game is ever released in the future, I honestly cannot imagine it without Kagura.👍

I love his theme song but trying to look it up on youtube always leads me to a bunch of weird videos about racism

Im still thinking on why they called this "Black Agression" instead of something to do with dragon slaying, like i know the translation is that but was it so hard to just do something like "Draconic Agression" or some shit like that? Anyway peak theme song

This is one of my favorite Blazblue tracks, for sure. It made me want to try to play the character... then I realized he was both a charge and a stance character and I noped right out.
