For BSNL, our government has provided three revival packages totalling โ‚น3.22 lakh crore. We have dealt with the burden of oil bonds, addressed the โ€œFragile Fiveโ€ economy, and undertaken bank restructuring and recapitalization. These were not small amounts but those of โ‚น3 lakh crore - โ‚น4 lakh crore, and now even fertiliser subsidies. Wherever there were weaknesses in the economy, they were left unaddressed earlier, and we are now paying for all of it. Yet, we are being questioned about GDP growth and fiscal deficit. The reality is that we are clearing the liabilities left behind. On spectrum allocation, after our government came to power, spectrum in bands such as 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2500 MHz and 3300 MHz has been provided to BSNL at auction-determined prices for 4G and 5G services. On BSNL, I must respectfully say that every criticism made against it is incorrect. If anything, BSNL was pushed into a critical condition earlier. It was in the ICU, and we have revived it and brought it back on track. The Union Cabinet has approved revival packages for BSNL. The capital infusion between 2022 and 2023 stands at โ‚น2.26 lakh crore. This includes spectrum allocation, capital expenditure on infrastructure, AGR dues, and restructuring of the PSU. The Make in India mandate for BSNL is a strength, not a restriction. There is no restriction on BSNL. In fact, under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, BSNL has placed an order for 1 lakh indigenously developed 4G sites for pan-India deployment. As of 28th February 2026, 97,906 sites have been installed with 4G equipment, out of which 96,103 are already operational. Additionally, the BharatNet Programme is strengthening BSNL further. Sugar cane farmers get SAP or State Advised Price. + Fertiliser subsidies. + Cheap or free electricity. + Irrigation subsidies. + Procurement policies. If these benefits to farmers are accepted as legitimate public policy, why is E20 policy being targeted in isolation for market distortion? CRITICS ARGUMENT 2: ETHANOL PRODUCTION IS WATER CONSUMING. Yes, sugarcane consumes a great deal of water. But so do + Paddy cultivators. Just look at the tumbling water tables in Punjab, Haryana. + AI and data centers. + Semiconductor manufacturing. + Steel and cement production. The question is not whether something uses water, but whether the benefits justify the costs. Again why are critics holding E20 alone to a test that they don't set for others? Mad respect for Minister CTR.Nirmalkumar ๐Ÿ‘. He's fighting battles on every front to fix the everyday power cut problems in Chennai, even though the department he's handling is in a very bad shape. Everything around this department has been far from normal. hard disks were stolen from the TNEB head office, fuses are being stolen affecting daily operations, a CBI case is going on related to the transformer scam under former minister Senthil Balaji, there aren't enough workers to handle the workload, and the department is sitting on a debt of over โ‚น1 lakh crore. This is not a small problem. This is a huge mess that has been building up for years. Turning around a department that has suffered from decades of mismanagement under both Dravidian parties is a himalayan task in itself and CTR.Nirmalkumar is trying to do exactly that. At the same time, he is also working on big plans for Tamil Nadu's energy future like solar power, wind power, rooftop solar, green hydrogen, smart grids, and more. The targeting foul against Zack Orr of NCC Football has been overturned, and he will be eligible to start in Saturday's #d3fb National Semifinal vs. Susquehanna Football at 3:30pm EST / 2:30pm CST. I spoke with Steve Shaw, the NCAA's National Coordinator of Officials, about the overturn this morning. Note that the provision in question is whether or not Springfield Football QB Drew Heenan qualified under the rules as a "defenseless player," as the following is one such definition in the NCAA Football Rulebook: "A ball carrier already in the grasp of an opponent and whose forward progress has been stopped." If a defenseless player is hit in the neck or head region by an opponent, then targeting is a proper call under the rules. Steve said: โ€œWeโ€™re very clear that he's not defenseless until he is down. And if you go back and look at the video on the playโ€ฆhe's wrapped up and he's going down. And the contact is with [the] runner just as he's going to the ground. So he really has not transitioned to a defenseless player yet. You know, you can make the argument that, well, if he's wrapped up, he's defenseless and he can't really defend himself. But from a replay perspective, we needed a bright line that that was not a judgment, but a bright line. And that is, [he] has to be down, considered down before he's defenselessโ€ฆ.He's just beginning to go down and be down. And so we wouldn't consider him down at the time that he's hit. And there's no crown of the helmet involved. The helmet is clearly to the side. And so, from a replay perspective, rules are very clear. They have the majority. Democracy is not about having a majority and doing what one likes. Democracy is about listening and doing what the now Prime Minister told the NFU when he said: โ€œYou deserve a Government that listens, that heeds early warningsโ€. There are one or two warnings about. Listen, change: if the Government change, four years on, no one will remember the U-turn. Whatever civil servants sayโ€”they are always very keen to stick with a policyโ€”if it is wrong, stop doing it. And this is wrong. In the minute and 20 seconds I have left, let me say why it is so wrong. We have touched on the various elements, but I am not sure we have pulled it all together. We have a really peculiar group of businesspeople in this country; they are called farmers. They take a return on capitalโ€”the millions they have invested in their farmsโ€”that is typically less than 1%. There is nobody that I am aware ofโ€”no business I was ever involved inโ€”that would remotely consider continuing in an industry that paid less than 1%. These farmers take a pittance and get up at 4 oโ€™clock in the morning for the privilege. They look after the animals and it does not matter if they are ill; they cannot carry their employment rights and go, โ€œIโ€™m not well, I shouldnโ€™t have to go out,โ€ because the cows do not care: they have to go out and look after them, and then they get less than 1% return. Those farmers, the most beneficent public-minded businesspeople in the whole country, then provide excellent food at among the lowest prices in Europe. If ever there were a business that we would not want to go and mess with, it is theseโ€”I should not say it, because I will make enemies of them. We must understand how remarkable it is that there is a whole group of businesspeople who take practically nothing from their business, work all the hours God gives, and provide us with some of the finest food in the world at among the lowest prices in Europe. Why would we want to mess with that? Not only do they do that, but they brainwash their children from the earliest age so that they carry on doing it. These people are in indentured service to the nation, providing food while making very little profit. They do it willingly and, in fact, love it: it is their life. South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola is appealing to the Zambian government and the family of former President Edgar Lungu to find common ground outside the court process so that he can be buried. He has been lying in a mortuary for close to 10 or 11 months. This is deeply embarrassing. What is wrong with the Zambian government? Why is it so fixated on fighting over a dead body when the family does not want him to be buried under those conditions? I am aware of the argument from supporters of President Hakainde Hichilema, who say that Edgar Lungu did something similar to the family of former President Kenneth Kaunda, when he denied Kaundaโ€™s wish to be buried next to his wife Betty and insisted on a presidential burial site. But even if that is the case, how do you justify a situation where, nearly 11 months later, a former head of state is still lying in a mortuary in a foreign country? At some point, leadership must prevail. Why can the current president not rise above this and say, โ€œโ€ฆwe could continue fighting and wasting taxpayersโ€™ money in South Africa, but out of respect for the deceased and for the dignity of the nation, we will allow the family to honour his wishes?โ€ This is not without precedent. In Zimbabwe, former President Robert Mugabe had indicated that he did not want to be buried at the National Heroes Acre. Despite all the political tensions, President Emmerson Mnangagwa allowed the family to bury him at his rural home in Zvimba. He could have pursued a similar confrontation, but he chose restraint. Someone has to be the adult in the room and recognise that this situation is absurd. It is embarrassing, it is draining, and it is damaging Zambiaโ€™s standing internationally. I have spoken to former African presidents who are scathing about what is happening. They are asking a simple question, why not let the family decide? Burial matters are, by their very nature, family matters, not state battles. This rigid idea that all presidents must be buried in a designated place is unnecessary and out of touch. Look at South Africa. Nelson Mandela was buried in his village, Qunu. There was no such nonsense. Meanwhile, ordinary Zambians are struggling. People are going to bed hungry. There is poverty, there is inflation, yet resources are being wasted on a pointless legal fight. It is foolish. Give the man dignity. Let him be buried. If the family wants to bury him in South Africa, let them. If they want to bury him in Zambia, let them. But if they do not want the president to preside over the funeral, why insist on forcing that presence? The message from the South African foreign minister is a diplomatic but firm call for maturity. Resolve this outside the courts. The legal process could drag on for years. Does anyone seriously want a former president to remain in a mortuary for five years? This is not on, it is ridiculous. This is an embarrassment to the continent, and more importantly, to Zambia and Zambians. Can sane people in Zambia please stand up! You canโ€™t politik over a dead manโ€™s remains. Let him rest! A former president left in a mortuary for nearly a year while leaders fight for control is not honour, it is failure of mature leadership!

They want to reduce my rate to 2%, bringing my monthly payment from $1,300 down to $600. However, this loan will be one of our last baby steps. My husband thinks we should pay off the smaller loans first so we have more to pay Sallie Mae later. โ€‹Dave Ramsey: Why do you have to move it up in the baby steps to accept the reduced interest rate? โ€‹Caller: I thought baby steps meant we need to pay off the loans we can pay based on our income. โ€‹Dave Ramsey: No. Baby step number two is the debt snowball. List your debts smallest to largest, pay minimum payments on everything except the smallest, and attack the smallest debt with a vengeance. Reducing the interest rate on any of those does not harm that equation at all. That's worth just shy of 5 million pounds before thinking about the machinery, houses and other assets. That's a small just about viable farm 550 acre farm. That's alot of assets but the farm is poor. There's not much pennies in the bank. When my employer dies his sons will have to pay 2 ยฝ million in tax to inherit the farm roughly ( I failed gcse maths by the way ๐Ÿ˜…) This simply isn't a number any farm can afford. The only way to pay that is crippling loans that his sons can't afford to pay back or to sell half the farm. If you sell half the farm. The farm isn't worth farming at 250 acres Can't make a living on half of their farm. So they would sell the lot. That then means in the first instance 5 jobs are lost. The future generations without a job. That's not taking into consideration the agronomist who is the crop doctor. Or the accountant who keeps the accounts in order. The seed and chemical companies who sell us the products. The Mills who use our wheat. The list goes on. This will happen to the majority of farming in the next 30 years because the average age of a farmer is in their 60s. We will see a total decimation of British farming. While I will never own a farm or inherit a farm this still effects me. The industry I've Been in since I could walk may vanish. Some monster sized farms like James Dysons will stand. But not the humble family farm. When I work on a family farm, I'm part of the family. We laugh together, talk about our lives, our family, we help each other out where we can. Favours without payments. When you join a family farm. You become part of the family. That's something I don't want to ever loose. If you can spare the time.
