"How do you then sell that event to the TV companies that you're promising all your best players to be there. "I think something has to change for the PDC to ensure that their best players are at these TV tournaments. "The problem for the top players is there's an awful lot of money to be made out there currently with exhibitions. "It's very difficult to say no on those weekends off and those top 10/12 guys are getting offered crazy money to do what they do. Justin Rose, at 45, has found a strong second wind in his career. He came up short at Augusta National but is really proud of how he has fought in the latter half of his golf life. Which LLM reasons best when it doesn't have all the information? Enter LLM Poker Arena to find out. It's a Poker Playing benchmark where top reasoning models play Texas Hold'em poker against each other. Claude Opus 4.5, GPT-5.2, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and Grok 4 all sit at the same table and play full tournaments to see who finishes with the chips. Poker is very different when it comes to reasoning. It has to balance probabilistic reasoning, opponent modeling and make decisions under uncertainty. Poker is an interesting evaluation because it tests reasoning under incomplete information, something most coding benchmarks do not capture. In this tournaments the rules are: - Each LLM starts with $1,000 chips - Small and big blinds start at $25 / $50 - Blinds double every 3 minutes - All models run in their reasoning or thinking modes After the first 5 tournaments: - Claude Opus 4.5 with Thinking has 3 wins - GPT-5.2 has 2 wins - Grok 4 and Gemini 2.5 Pro have 0 wins Early results suggest Claude performs quite well at poker as well. Even though it's "uncomfortable for him" he says he wants to be that guy in the locker to instill a positive mindset to other players to keep their heads up to finish off this season.

PRACTICE TO GAME RATIO This is one of the things that is backwards in our country. Yes, you need to play. Yes, you can learn while playing…. But how many High School/College games do you see where players don’t know how to Space, Screen, Execute, Pass, Finish with Both Hands…. We spend our youth years trying to win games and tournaments instead of learning how to play. You can’t get that time back to build your foundation.

You get 1 spring Little League season per year. You can play tournaments every weekend. Missing your rec league games to play in a travel ball tournament is not legit. It's also not safe from an arm care perspective. The travel ball player is probably a top Little League player, so it really hurts the team. Dont put your child that situation. And dont do that to the team. It puts the Little League head coach in an awful position. What are they supposed to tell the team? "Oh yea, little Bobby is playing on his travel team this weekend instead of with us..." And then that travel ball player is expected to just be slotted back into the lineup? That's not right. I bet if the LL coach sits the player for skipping out on the team, those parents complain. In fact, I literally just had this happen with a good friend... which prompted this reflection. Play Little League or Travel Ball. And if you do both, prioritize the rec league with the team who has worked together for months with the goal of playing meaningful baseball at the end of the season. Show up for the volunteer coach who probably selected you as one of their top picks to carry and lead the team. And just wait a few more weeks and play in as many weekend tournaments as your heart desires. ⚾💪🔥 #baseball #travelball #littleleague #youthbaseball
