A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Mineral Resources was signed between the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is in Japan to attend the 15th India–Japan Annual Summit with Japan’s Prime Minister, His Excellency, Shigeru Ishiba. Both leaders reaffirmed cooperation in key areas including the economy, health, mobility partnership, AI, science and technology, and critical minerals including rare earth elements. A Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on Mineral Resources was signed between the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). This MoC aligns with India’s efforts to diversify critical mineral supply chains, vital for energy security, national security, and the goal of net zero emissions by 2070.
