Indian Army for India’s First Villages: Nation Building In continuation with the efforts to empower women in border areas, the #IndianArmy, has undertaken a ‘Sustainable Health Empowerment’ initiative aptly named ‘SHE’ in Ladakh. This pathbreaking initiative, brought together by Fire and Fury Corps in close coordination with the Student Association for Village Education (SAVE) and NGO MOGRA, saw a series of wellness & awareness camps organised in remote communities to address important issues pertaining to mental and physical well being of women. "Naam, Namak or Nishaan"! How nice to hear this? But, where did the "Naam" go when a fellow Officer was illegally detained and his fiancee molested by Odisha Police ? What did you do? Where is the justice? It is very evident as to whose "Namak" most of our Generals are having when, they do the bidding of the politicians and advocate against the welfare of the troops under their command. Now coming to the "Nishaan" which has been, slowly & systematically eroded by making the very foundation of this organisation crumble by tinkering with the time tested Ethos, Customs & Traditions of the organisation. "YESMANSHIP" was certainly not our "Nishaan". Lastly, coming to the "Vetan" (वेतन) now. How do you expect a Soldier to fight with his full might when he is not even sure that his family back home would be well taken care of, both financially and otherwise? Core issues like anomalies in successive pay commissions, of OROP and grant of NFU are equally important for a Soldiers' well being and career growth. The silence/opposing of/by the Top Brass speaks volumes about the much cherished "Naam, Namak & Nishaan". The Chetwode Credo has been long forgotten. In the words of the Great & Legendary FM Sam Manekshaw, " BE A MAN, NOT A YESMAN". "Naam, Namak or Nishaan"! How nice to hear this? But, where did the "Naam" go when a fellow Officer was illegally detained and his fiancee molested by Odisha Police ? What did you do? Where is the justice? It is very evident as to whose "Namak" most of our Generals are having when, they do the bidding of the politicians and advocate against the welfare of the troops under their command. Now coming to the "Nishaan" which has been, slowly & systematically eroded by making the very foundation of this organisation crumble by tinkering with the time tested Ethos, Customs & Traditions of the organisation. "YESMANSHIP" was certainly not our "Nishaan". Lastly, coming to the "Vetan" (वेतन) now. How do you expect a Soldier to fight with his full might when he is not even sure that his family back home would be well taken care of, both financially and otherwise? Core issues like anomalies in successive pay commissions, of OROP and grant of NFU are equally important for a Soldiers' well being and career growth. The silence/opposing of/by the Top Brass speaks volumes about the much cherished "Naam, Namak & Nishaan". The Chetwode Credo has been long forgotten. This magnificent flag, created entirely from pure Khadi, stands as a testament to the dedication and skill of 20 Women Weavers who worked tirelessly for an entire month to complete this masterpiece. This symbol of our pride was handed over to the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), and has been hoisted at the Maithon Dam to mark their Foundation Day, serving as a beacon of inspiration for all who visit. I commend the Women Weavers for their perseverance and their contribution to the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives. Today, 7th June 2026, we empowered another batch of women-owned small-scale businesses in our community under the Udama Initiative This is the second phase of the programme following the successful pilot conducted in August. The empowerment is structured as an interest-free revolving loan scheme designed to support vulnerable women with little or no access to capital. Each beneficiary receives ₦50,000, with repayment spread through weekly installments of ₦3,000. The first batch of beneficiaries has consistently repaid their loans for the past eight weeks, and the impact has been encouraging. Many of the women have recorded noticeable improvements in their businesses, increased their stock, and strengthened their means of livelihood. What makes this initiative unique is that the funds are recycled. As repayments are made, the money is reallocated to support more women, ensuring that the programme continues to expand while we seek additional sources of funding. Our target is to empower at least 50 women within our community before the end of the year. Most of these women previously operated with business capital of less than ₦20,000 or ₦30,000, making access to ₦50,000 a significant boost to their economic activities. We remain committed to supporting grassroots economic development, one family at a time, and creating opportunities for women to grow sustainable businesses and improve their standard of living. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to an anonymous supporter from this platform whose contribution helped strengthen the fund. Your generosity is creating opportunities for hardworking women and helping to transform lives at the grassroots. We are truly grateful for your kindness and support.

When sent to hospital for medical examination and blood test which is the standard protocol of investigation, they refused. Odisha Police has more than 600 Police Stations and they together register and investigate about 2 lakh cases annually. Sir, we, the Indian Police, respect and honour our Military because that is the last resort in defending the country from external enemies. A reciprocation from Military towards Police which defends the country from internal enemies, is a normal expectation. Our work is complementary as we together protect the country from within and without. But I would not chastise the Indian Army by asking, “Is this the kind of discipline that the Indian Army imparts and inculcates in its officers?”. Female pilots remain uncommon worldwide, with China boasting the largest number in civil aviation (around 941). Even rarer are women qualified for combat roles in the military. On International Women’s Day in 1952, the 3rd year after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the first group of 14 female pilots flew over Beijing, announcing to the world that China had joined the ranks of nations with women aviators. It wasn’t until over 50 years later that Chinese women were cleared to fly fighter jets. These female pilots haven’t missed out on key historical moments. After the 1976 7.8-magnitude earthquake, the first plane to land in the disaster zone was piloted by a woman. Following China’s first atomic bomb test, female pilots twice entered the mushroom cloud to collect aerial samples. And the two Chinese women who have ventured into space both started their careers as PLA pilots. Today, China has a dedicated system for selecting and training female flight cadets, identifying extremely talented young women and launching them into the skies. This program has run for 14 cycles, recruiting over 700 girls at the age of 18. They enroll in the country’s top universities like Tsinghua and Peking, balancing academics with flight training. China’s requirements for female pilots—in terms of physical fitness, flying skills, and more—are identical to those for men. Today morning my supplementary question no 1 on Young India Skills University. I'm proud to say that under the able and dynamic leadership of our Hon'ble Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he is ambitiously setting up the Young India Skills University in Hyderabad, with the objective of providing job opportunities to the students and imparting skill development training according to the requirements of the local industries that are in demand in collaboration with various companies in the PPP model. A total of 17 priority sectors have been identified, and we will be providing training to 2 thousand people in the first year of 2025-26. We will train 20,000 people every year, and the state has allocated Rs. 100 crore on its part for the same and further wants to create a corpus fund of about Rs. 300-500 crores. Now my question to the ministry is if there is any proposal from the central government to adequately fund this Skills University.
