In any case, in electoral terms, what is Zulu tribalism? So it’s okay and it is national and not tribal for voters in Limpopo to vote for Cyril Ramaphosa, who hails from Limpopo; but it is not ok and it is tribal and not national for voters in KZN to vote for Jacob Zuma, who is from KZN? How can any proper person characterise the electoral choices of voters in a particular local community in favour of candidates from that community as tribal? Where are candidates in a local community supposed to come from? While it is bad to hear such outrageous sentiments banded around with reckless abandon, including by political scientists and others who are using the MK’s strong performance to raise alarm about what the MK’s vote in KZN means for the national question in South Africa; it is worse when the same warped mentality is displayed by a senior member of the ANC - African National Congress national leadership, like Gwede Mantashe, who ought to know better. What national question are they on about? Is there anyone who still does not know or understand that all, and certainly the best, politics is local? To get you “out of your brain” and in “touch with feelings.” He then explicitly tells everyone to tune out everything but their feelings. Next… the four thousand people here are being asked to confront armed federal agents. What is the natural reaction for anyone confronting armed men? Nervousness. I love the police; my father-in-law was an NYPD officer, but my heart beats faster when I’m pulled over by my local PD. He’s telling them to listen to that “heat behind the eyes, tremble in your hands,” which is fine, but then he is lying. He’s telling you to interpret that natural panic when facing authority as moral superiority and your “conscious.” Next, he has to dehumanize opponents and set the stage for “us vs. them,” but this is tricky because almost every American knows a Republican. So he says “I want to be clear who they are,” and he gets very specific so the picture of your MAGA uncle or priest doesn’t enter your mind. Then he states the obvious, which everyone (even MAGA) will agree on: “Renee Good should be alive. Alex Pretti should be alive.” I agree with that statement, but the question is who’s responsible for their deaths. IMHO, the person most responsible is Eric Ward, but of course, he’s not going to blame himself. Then he says, “The people who died at the hands of ICE snd border patrol should be alive.” What people? He doesn’t say. It’s not about the people; it’s about drawing a straight line from Renee and Alex to ICE. Then he says, “Let’s tell the truth.” Which any kindergartener knows is followed by lies, but his listeners are in a trance from the breathing exercise. Listen to the sing-song nature of how he speaks. It’s literally hypnosis. Hypnosis for the BIG whopper lie: “Federal law enforcement is not here to keep us safe.” Really, Eric? Because he needs to paint with broad strokes in case other agencies are called in. Nad now the stage is set to dehumanize: “Federal law enforcement is killing people, beating people…” And the worst lie: “Detaining people like disposable objects.” Once you are hypnotized. I've really debated speaking out about TLC cooper because I have this intense anxiety about being marked as a girl that "causes drama", but I want to share my piece on why I don't think this is an isolated incident for him nor will it be the last time that he behaves this way due to the lack of discipline from FlyQuest. I've been competing in esports since 2017. I've been denied trials because of my gender, hit with every sexist remark, made fun of for my voice, and still despite it all, I compete. A few months ago, 100T delenaa posted a (now deleted) tier list ranking a bunch of different Marvel Rivals players from S to D tier. I forget what I was ranked to be honest, and didn't really pay it much mind until I received a DM from someone showing me that TLC cooper had said something along the lines of (since it's now deleted) "you have me below aramori?? are we serious right now??" At this point I didn't really keep stock of anyone in the scene, I'm particularly bad with names, and I usually don't pay any attention to who I'm playing versus unless they're old teammates of mine (I’ve said this in an interview with Shroud). I did NOT know who he was, only that he was a fellow peer in the competitive scene. my heart dropped when i saw his reply Why was he comparing himself to me when all of my teammates and every other strategist in the scene was also on the list? Why was he not mad that he was below Harvey or Karova, but instead, mad that he was lower than me? The answer left a bad taste in my mouth. Despite not really knowing me, never having played on a team with me, or even talked to me- he had a preconceived notion that I was "bad" or "less than" all of our peers. I responded (screenshot below) "what u say fuck me for" trying to make light of an extremely awkward situation. He responded (screenshot) "woah why are we assuming ily 💖 #MeToo" Me too? The movement where victims of sexual assault gathered an immense amount of courage to come forward and speak about their abusers? I’ve never posted about my own SA stories but why would he feel that its EVER okay to make a dig at someone for something as sinister as sexual assault. And why ME of all people? Because I'm a girl? LOL Me continued to spam #MeToo to me whenever we were in a scrim lobby together and i just never responded. What do you say to someone who makes light of SA? When I saw Ashlyn TTV's video, it didn't surprise me. I was so angry at the hate she received for her voice and him calling her "a fake one too". He had been extremely weird to me in the past but this solidified my feelings, that he was going to continue to behave inappropriately towards women in the scene, treating us as an "other" and insinuating that we are worse or less than because of our gender. All I want for the Marvel Rivals esports scene is for it to be inclusive. I want to be competing side by side with other women. This will NOT happen if we let incidents like this fester with no consequences. I know he is young and I want him to learn from his mistakes, but he needs to understand just how serious this is and how much it affects ALL the women in the scene, not just me and Ashlyn TTV. I'm not getting kicked, by the way.
