Bangladesh's Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, stated, "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬." Does he even understand what he is saying? How disrespectful it is to speak so callously about the innocent young men, who lost their lives due to police brutality. It is fortunate that the government itself provided subtitles for his statement. I kindly request members of the international press to take note of this obnoxious and unacceptable comment by Arafat, as well as his attempt to malign opposition political parties. It is unbelievable that someone can stoop so low.

No dad should know the pain of burying a child. Tragically, I've been through this myself, on April 15, 2016, when I held my little boy's hand as he drew his final breaths. And then I collapsed on the floor, crying for a half hour straight... I must say, President Biden's response to my question during a roundtable with Jewish community leaders on the ongoing devastation in Israel touched me on a deep, personal level. The president knows the pain of losing someone close. He's experienced it multiple times, nebech. I feel these are the kinds of words the world needs to hear right now. Just over a year ago, in April 2023, the Ethiopian government falsely claimed that it was dismantling all regional forces and went on to dismantle the Amhara Regional Forces while keeping other regional forces intact. When the Amhara people rose up in mass to protest this decision, the Oromo fascist led Federal government deployed the Ethiopian army and Oromo Special Forces to the Amhara region and waged a genocidal war on the Amhara people that has continued to this day. After facing multiple humiliating defeats at the hands of Fano for a over a year, the fascist Abiy Ahmed Ali 🇪🇹 regime is now deploying thousands of newly conscripted federal forces and the Oromo Special Forces to the Amhara region for what it claims is a "final" offensive before the 10 months old state of emergency and complete communication blockade it has imposed on the Amhara region comes to an end next week. That's all I can say. If the eclipse comes out on April 8th, look at it. Take the glasses off that they try to sell you or try to promote to you. Take the glasses off and look at it. I sat and looked at the eclipse for 20 minutes last time, and it was the most out of body experience. And it was cool because the eclipse was showing like little, it looked like little water bubbles were all over the ground, and it was just absolutely the coolest shadow I've ever seen of just water bubbles popped all over the place on the ground. I really love this from Molly Miller, head coach of Grand Canyon Women’s basketball… A psychological breakdown… “𝐈’𝐦 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧” Directing attention onto technique by lowering physical and mental activation (intensity). Drawing on Deliberate Practice (Anders Erickson)…highlight a specific area to focus on - affords the player the opportunity to increase awareness of technique and change it if necessary. Affords the coach the opportunity to critique technique (feedback). “𝐎𝐧𝐞, 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫…𝐭𝐰𝐨, 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡, 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞” Tech/tac attentional cues (specific, controllable cues). Reinforcement…but also a bit of checking for understanding (whilst keeping rapid pace of instruction)…demands on player activation (alertness and readiness) in order to keep track of instructions “𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬. 𝐈𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 “𝐆𝐚𝐩, 𝐠𝐚𝐩, 𝐈 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩” 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚?” Reinforcing the importance of listening during the game - improving the understanding of in-game information for better interactions. Interactions influence actions (cultivating player listening and attention) “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 - 𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞” Goal-setting - human beings always have hierarchical goals. Linking tech/tac/phys (pace) with mental (dialogue). Putting these hierarchically first (perhaps more so than performance) “𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐲” Technical cue (perhaps an external focus - handsy ON ball) “𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 - 𝐈’𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞, 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞” “𝐉𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥” “𝐈’𝐦 𝐥𝐨𝐰, 𝐈’𝐦 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥 - 𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐩, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞. As a sport psychologist here I’m working with Molly to ensure players are able to process this information deeply and durably into long-term memory. This will help them better learn these actions and interactions…in order to be better at exploiting opportunities and dealing with dangers (anticipation-decision-making). This could include different types of instructions, activity design, the use of motor imagery, utilising video
