so iโ€™ve been seeing tweets about how liam sang the first line of wmyb and the last line of history and itโ€™s gut wrenching. but i also wanted to expand on that, not so much to break our hearts, but to show - in numbers - how fucking amazing Liam has always been. this is how iโ€™m choosing to deal with my griefโ€ฆ **as a disclaimer, this is NOT a dig at any of the other boys. iโ€™m a ride or die ot5 so donโ€™t try to play me. this is just a celebration of liam bc he deserves it. so not only was liam integral in forming 1d, but he was also a key factor for keeping them on xfactor. we have the receipts that liam was the first one chosen basically back in 2008 and the other 4 were chosen during that table discussion that was released last yr [tbh they were scouting for boys to form the band with liam before the 2010 season but thatโ€™s for another time] in the video below, youโ€™ll see that liam soloed at the start of the song that got them through to the live shows [torn], and then he soloed at the start of every single song they sang on the xfactor. literally every single song! i didnโ€™t think to do the math, but he also soloed at the end of a lot of them too. he was the anchor for the band at that time. then the albums started: up all night, take me home, midnight memories, four, and made in the am. and guess what? liam had the most solos [by 1 but the point is they didnโ€™t decrease his solos to make room for the others]. here they are in the order of the albums [obviously zayn had to drop out of the race] Liam: 18, 19, 17, 16, 18 = 88 Harry: 18, 19, 16, 16, 18 = 87 Louis: 8, 20, 17, 16, 18 = 79 Niall: 8, 18, 17, 16, 18 = 77 Zayn: 18, 19, 16, 16 = 69 idk if the band or their team made sure to make the solos pretty equal after uan, but obviously it was the right move. so all i wanted to show was that without 14yo liam making it as far as he did in 2008 and sc seeing his potential [and his own potential for greed], one direction may never have been formed. and if it did form without liam, it would likely not have been the powerhouse that it was from the very beginning bc it would have been without its anchor.

I'd like to end this Parliamentary sitting by sharing a story because it turns out that it's not only One Nation fighting to defend free speech in Australia. There are fighters for this most important democratic right everywhere. One of these great Australians is a 14-year-old young man named Liam, and hist story is a lesson for the members of this parliament. It was about three months ago, in a Year 9 classroom in Queensland, that an assignment was given to students: nominate your personal hero, write a speech about them, and deliver a speech to the class. Our intrepid young speechwriter began his assignment by nominating me as his hero. Liam's teacher immediately told him he couldn't do that as I was a figure that was 'too controversial'. Believe me when I tell you that this is not the first time this has happened in an educational setting. The teacher then suggested a number of other public figures, none of whom Liam considered to be his personal hero. Liam decided that he'd go ahead anyway and write a speech about Senator Pauline Hanson. He wrote about me representing forgotten Australians and never giving up. He wrote about my pride in Australia and my patriotism. He wrote about his own pride in Australia and his own patriotism. He wrote about my views on multiculturalism and its impacts on our nation. He wrote about how I put Australia's best interest first. He wrote about my love for my country and how he shared it. He wrote about bringing common sense back to Australia's political system. I think that last point was a very astute observation for a young man at the age of 14. Many politicians have only a very tenuous relationship with common sense. He then delivered this speech to his class. For standing up for himself, Liam got a failing grade and was forced to miss the sports session he always looked forward to at the end of the school week. He spent that session in detention. He was detained for standing up for his right to freely express his views. Over the past few years that has become an all-too-familiar story all over the Western world. That's why Liam wrote to my office to let me know what had happened to him. I was humbled by his description of me, and we should all be humbled by his personal courage. Understandably, I was also outraged at how he was treated. He was a young Australian who defied arbitrary authority to stand up for his right to free speech and his right to express a political opinion. Regardless of his opinion and whether you agree with it or not, he showed great courage and he deserves great respect. He exercised the most important democratic right any of us have and he did so with dignity. I know his parents are very proud of Liam. In fact, his mother wrote to the school to protest his treatment and demand a passing grade for having successfully completed his assignment. She was successful in getting Liam a C-minus. I've since read his speech and I've given it a B-plus. I'd like to have given Liam an A, but I strongly believe we should always give our young people something to strive for. It has been my privilege to host Liam as my guest in Parliament House today. It has been my privilege because Liam stood up for a democratic right I have championed since I first came to this place 28 years ago. Liam's story is a reminder that freedom of speech is a fundamental right that we must always protect, because there will always be those who try to take it away from us. Liam's bravery is an example we can all follow. It is Liam who is the real hero of this story. I say to teachers out there: How dare you criticise someone who chooses me or anyone else, as their hero? That is their choice. You asked them to do it, and yet you want to strip them of that right to choose who they want because, in your political opinion, I am too controversial. That's not what should be taught to our kids. Critical thinking should be taught, a way of thinking to encourage. But our teachers today are forcing their own political opinions on young students coming through the system. Is that really what we want? I don't think so. That's not the Australia that many people have fought and died for, for our right to freedom of speech and right to an opinion. So he is a hero to all Australians who believe in the right to freedom of speech and to all Australians who stand to defend it. And do you know what, Liam? You are my personal hero. Thank you.

โ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ”ต PRESSER ๐Ÿ”ต๐Ÿšจโ€ผ๏ธ ๐ŸŽ™ Liam Roseniorโ€™s Full Post-Arsenal Press Conference ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on the game plan โš™๏ธ โ€œWeโ€™ve had a lot to contend with in the last couple of days โ€” a couple of fitness tests this morning. Our schedule has been incredible, so for the players to put in that energy, fight and spirit was pleasing. We got into the final third, but we didnโ€™t have enough quality moments and didnโ€™t take advantage.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on James & Neto ๐Ÿš‘ โ€œPedro and Reece both had small knocks and were in too much pain to be involved tonight.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on Estevรฃo & Cole Palmer ๐Ÿง โค๏ธ โ€œFor Estevรฃo to go through what he has at 18 years old says everything about the character I want in this team. With Cole, we have to take care of him and make sure heโ€™s right for the whole season.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on the defeat ๐Ÿ˜” โ€œIโ€™m extremely disappointed every time we lose. There were aspects of the game I was happy with, but you could see how devastated the lads were โ€” we genuinely believed we could turn it around. There were moments there for us. Iโ€™m hurting, but we have to move on.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on how the game unfolded ๐Ÿ”„ โ€œYou can come away from home, press high and go 2โ€“0 down. I brought Cole and Estevรฃo on around 60 minutes and the game opened up. There was a feeling in the stadium that the tie could turn, but it didnโ€™t happen. Their goal ultimately comes when we were throwing the kitchen sink at it.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on injuries affecting the setup ๐Ÿงฉ โ€œThe availability of your players always affects the system. Against West Ham we ran until the 97th minute trying to come back from 2โ€“0 down, then the emotions from Napoli โ€” all of that has to be taken into account.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on pundit criticism ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ โ€œIโ€™ve been a pundit โ€” itโ€™s easy in hindsight. If I go and attack the game and press really high, people will ask what Iโ€™m doing.โ€ ๐ŸŒ€ Liam Rosenior on reacting to setbacks ๐Ÿ”ฅ โ€œLosing is not what we wanted. Weโ€™ve played eight games in less than a month since I came in. The learning, spirit, togetherness and fight are there. Now I need to see what we look like after a setback. Kate posted another "grief journey" videoโ€ฆ and then deleted it. In it she claims she drove from Charleston to Miami, passed Palm Beach where they "used to live", drove by the house and saw two kidsโ€™ scooters outside. According to her that made her angry because "this should have been us" and that they talked so much about having a family and a future. First of all, the Isle of Wellington is a gated community with 24/7 security. You donโ€™t just casually drive through there unless you actually live there or have access. So the whole "I just happened to drive by the house" story already sounds questionable. But the bigger issue is the narrative she keeps pushing. Liam already HAD a family. He already HAD a child. Bear wasnโ€™t some future dream, he was Liamโ€™s reality. Liam literally bought his home, so he could live closer to Cheryl and Bear and be present in his sonโ€™s life. And what happened next? Kate made it very clear how much she hated the UK. The weather made her "depressed", she hated the lifestyle, hated being there, hated everything about it. So Liam ended up moving to Florida. Away from his family. Away from his son. So hearing her now talk about "this should have been us" and some fantasy family future is honestly unbelievable when the reality is that Liam had already built his life around being close to his child until she came along and couldnโ€™t stand living in the same country. And letโ€™s not forget the irony here. When Kate turned 24, Liam chose to go to Bearโ€™s birthday party instead of celebrating hers. Because heโ€™s a father. And what did she do? She threw a fit, went out with her friends and ignored him. But now suddenly the narrative is about how badly she wanted that family life. At the same time she says people "look up to her" for her grief journey while sheโ€™s constantly posting dinners, parties, nights out and influencer events. The lifestyle she shows every single day. You cannot build an entire narrative around grief and being looked up to while constantly rewriting Liamโ€™s life into a story centered around yourself. Liam was a father first. A son. A brother. A friend. An artist. His life didnโ€™t start with her. And it definitely wasnโ€™t supposed to revolve around the future she imagined. #JusticeForLiam

Full stop, no more than that." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on discipline problem: "I think that some of the red cards we concede, we can avoid that." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on changing the discipline issues: "It's also something we need to learn and need to do better. For sure, no doubt, we will do better than that in the future." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on whether Liam Delap is a long way from the player he wants him to be: "I'm not from England, so sometimes when I try to translate from Italian to English, it's a bit different. When Liam is on the pitch, he is more focused to try his battle with the defender. That's what I was trying to say. There are three players in this team that I know better than the rest, Lavia, Palmer and Delap because I knew them from City U21s. I know Liam will be a fantastic player for us, but there are some things he can improve." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on Spurs' home record: "I think Tottenham are doing very good. They won the Europa League and they started really well this season. It's a derby and it will be a difficult game." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on Chelsea's left wingers: "They are both [Garnacho and Gittens] adapting to the way we work every day. They are both doing very well. This is what we want from our wingers, scoring goals and assists. It's good that they're both doing very well so we can choose one or the other." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on conceding from set-pieces: "I think that set-pieces, you are going to score goals and concede goals. The reason why is because when we concede, you are not strong enough. It is an action that is so difficult to defend." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on defending long throws: "For sure, we are working on it, for sure." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on if Liam Delap apologised: "Straight after the game in the changing room, he apologised to everyone." ๐Ÿ”นEnzo Maresca on Palmer injury latest: "I just met him in the canteen for breakfast and I said to him, in one week 'you will be back' and he was laughing. This dad called 911 because his seven year old autistic son wasnโ€™t behaving and was having a tantrum. The officer that spoke with him told the father that it was completely inappropriate to call the police over this. He said they have an entire town to protect and three officers responded and then asks the dad while chuckling - โ€œcanโ€™t handle a seven year old?โ€ The dad tells him that he has called 911 twice before but no one has ever got mad at him like this officer. The officer tells him that they are approaching charging him with false summoning a police officer. He also tells him that if he canโ€™t handle a seven year then maybe they should get CYS involved because clearly the dad needs parenting classes. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Many said the officer was rude and didnโ€™t have to be. That his job is to protect and SERVE the community and that the family was just reaching out, that he needed support and someone to to talk to because they have no idea how hard it is to raise an autistic child? But others said this is not a job for a police officer, that they arenโ€™t counselors and therapists and that there are many resources available through the city that he should using. ๐Ÿ’ฏ I am team police officer. Some may find it rude but this is not in their job description. And being the third time? You have to put a stop to the 911 calls. What do you think? Do you think the officer had a right to be upset and talk the way he was talking to the dad being that this is the third time this has happened? Or, do you think he should have had more compassion for the father?

I donโ€™t have a best XI. I never have done in all of the clubs that Iโ€™ve worked with. Why? Because of the demands โ€” the physical demands of the Premier League, Ligue 1 or the Championship now with 46 games. You need a squad, and you need to use the players in the correct way to challenge over the course of the season. Iโ€™ve been here three and a half weeks, Iโ€™m still getting to know the players. I try to pick the right starting team, but I also try to pick a bench that gives us the right finishing team. So far, the substitutes in every game have made a huge impact.
