A concrete slab from the under-construction Mumbai Metro Line 4 project collapsed onto vehicles on LBS Marg in Mulund West around 1:15 pm on Saturday, near the Johnson & Johnson and Oberoi premises. The slab fell on a car and an autorickshaw, leaving 3–4 people injured. An auto driver and a woman were reportedly trapped under the debris and were rescued by emergency teams. Visuals from the spot showed the damaged vehicles and rescue efforts underway. Traffic movement on the busy stretch was severely disrupted as authorities began assessing the cause of the collapse and the extent of injuries.

JUST IN | A portion of a century-old clock tower building collapsed at Kerala's Kozhikode railway station, breaking apart and causing debris to fall onto Platform 2 and Track 3 on Thursday forenoon. No injuries or casualties have been reported. Although there were people on the platform, a major disaster was narrowly avoided as no one was directly underneath the structure when it gave way. Facial reconstructions of the Hasanlu Lovers The people of Iron Age Hasanlu were genetically a mixture of Zagrosians, Upper Mesopotamians, and Proto-Armenics. Hasanlu is an archaeological site of an ancient city located in northwest Iran, in the province of West Azerbaijan, just south of Lake Urmia. The settlement was likely associated with the Mannaeans, a Hurro-Urartian people with a possible Indo-European substrate related to the Armenic branch. The site is most famous for its catastrophic destruction. At the end of the 9th century BC, Hasanlu was violently sacked and burned, preserving a single moment in time, much like Pompeii. Buildings, artifacts, and even human remains were sealed beneath layers of ash and collapsed debris. The attackers were most likely the Urartians. Excavations uncovered the remains of more than 285 people, many of them slain in battle or executed afterward. Several bodies showed signs of mutilation, while the positioning of others revealed desperate attempts to escape. Among the thousands of objects discovered in situ were weapons, ornaments, and household items, all abandoned in the chaos. This destruction layer, known as Hasanlu IVb, stands as one of the most important archaeological contexts of the early Iron Age Near East. Following the devastation, the city’s High Mound was repurposed as the site of a Urartian fortress. The suspect, Samuel John confessed to selling the stolen jewelry for ₦4 million, far below its actual value. LAGOS POLICE COMMAND ACHIEVES MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN CRIME DETECTION WITH THE ARREST OF JOHN SAMUEL, A NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBERY KINGPIN, HIRED ASSASSIN, AND MURDERER BEHIND THE ALLEN AVENUE GOLD JEWELLERY ARMED ROBBERY ATTACK. HE WAS TRACKED AND APPREHENDED IN HIS EPE HIDEOUT On 19/09/2025 at about 1400hrs, operatives of the Lagos State Police On 19/09/2025 at about 1400hrs, operatives of the Lagos State Police Command successfully tracked, trailed and arrested a notorious armed robber, hired assassin, and murderer, later identified as John Samuel ‘m’, 28 years old, from Akwa Ibom State, in his hideout at Epe. The suspect, who was recently released from Prison, on 18/08/2025 fired and wounded a businessman Gbenga Obama and robbed him of an expensive gold necklace and other valuables in broad daylight at Gbajobi Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja. John Samuel, an ex-convict, is vicious and notorious for armed robbery, assassination, and murder of some of his victims. He was released recently after serving a six-year jail term for capital offence of armed robbery. After his release from prison, he returned to crime and criminality with even more viciousness. He is notorious for shooting at victims before dispossessing them of their valuables. CCTV footage of the 18/08/2025 incident obtained, clearly captured the suspect when he fired at the victim with English pistol,before dispossessing him of his gold necklace jewelry while his accomplice waited on a motorcycle for their escape. The victim, who sustained serious gunshot wounds during the attack,has since been treated and discharged. The suspect, Samuel John confessed to selling the stolen jewelry for ₦4 million, far below its actual value. The Lagos State Police Command is currently intensifying efforts to arrest other members of his gang and bring them to justice. They will all be prosecuted on completion of investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohudare Jimoh, praised the gallantry and commitment of the operatives that led to the successful arrest of this vicious and notorious suspect. He assured Lagosians that discreet investigation is ongoing into the case. The Lagos State Police Command wish to reiterates its commitment to safety and protection of all residents, and hereby assure them to go about their lawful activities in peace without fear or apprehension.
