![BREAKING: CHAIR OF ENOCH BURKEโS APPEAL PANEL REVEALED TO BE MARRIED TO THE CHIEF LEGAL ADVISOR OF CHURCH OF IRELAND Claire Callanan, the Chair of the Disciplinary Appeal Panel hearing Enoch Burkeโs case, has been revealed as a Church of Ireland employee whose husband is its chief legal adviser. The media, courts and government are withholding this information from the public. On Sunday afternoon (17 May) Enoch Burke was made aware of shocking details regarding Ms Claire Callanan, the Chair of the Disciplinary Appeal Panel (DAP) set up to hear his appeal. At the DAP hearing in Athlone on 24 April 2026, Ms Callanan permitted a Barrister and Solicitor for the Board of Management of Wilsonโs Hospital School to be present to represent the school. Enoch Burke objected to this as being contrary to settled law, the Circular and the practice of the DAP. He was subsequently removed from the hearing at the direction of Ms Callanan and no substantive hearing of his appeal took place. On 17 May 2026, it came to Enoch Burkeโs attention that a serious conflict of interest existed regarding the presence of Claire Callanan on the Disciplinary Appeal Panel. Ms Callanan was appointed to this position by the Minister for Education, Hildegarde Naughton TD (Fine Gael). Wilsonโs Hospital School is one of a small number of secondary schools in Ireland with a Church of Ireland ethos. Ms Callanan is the Chair of the ecclesiastical Disciplinary Tribunal of the Church of Ireland. Ms Callanan was appointed as a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal by the Standing Committee of the Church of Ireland in November 2021 and was subsequently appointed as Chair. In addition, Ms Callananโs husband, Mr Lyndon MacCann SC, is: 1. A member of the Representative Body of the Church of Ireland, along with John McDowell, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland and Pat Storey, Bishop of Meath and Kildare, who both serve as Trustees and Guardians of Wilsonโs Hospital School; 2. A chair of three of the eight Committees of the of the Representative Body of the Church of Ireland, including Chair of the Legal Advisory Committee; 3. Registrar to William Morton, the Dean & Ordinary of St Patrickโs Cathedral Dublin, a Director of Wilsonโs Hospital School, and 4. A Lay Judge of the Court of the General Synod, the highest ecclesiastical tribunal in the Church of Ireland. Mr Lyndon MacCann SC was seated beside Archbishop John McDowell at the top table at the Church of Ireland General Synod in Armagh on 11 May 2024, when Martina Burke addressed the gathering regarding the imprisonment of her son, and her daughter was violently assaulted by an attendee. Exactly one week later, on 18 May 2024, Mr Lyndon MacCann SC and Claire Callanan were married in St. Patrickโs Cathedral, Dublin. William Morton, the Dean & Ordinary of the Cathedral and a Director of Wilsonโs Hospital School, assisted in the officiation of the wedding. The Chairperson of the Disciplinary Appeal Panel (DAP) is required to be โindependentโ. Ms Callanan works for and has as a client an entity which is intrinsically connected to the school in this appeal. Furthermore, her husband is a high-ranking member of and the chief legal advisor to the same entity. There is no doubt but that he is one of the most powerful men in the Church of Ireland. Ms Callanan cannot be an impartial and independent decisionmaker in this appeal. It is abhorrent that Enoch Burke would have been deceived into sitting in front of Ms Callanan as Chairperson of the DAP. It was hypocrisy of the deepest dye for Ms Callanan to seek to hear the appeal, claiming that she "really wanted to hear [Enoch]โ and that the DAP was "desperately" trying to be fair, while at the same time failing to disclose her husband's role as the most senior lay member of the Church of Ireland and its chief legal advisor. Ms Callanan also failed to disclose her own position as Chair of the ecclesiastical Disciplinary Tribunal of the Church of Ireland. Enoch Burke raised the serious matters above with the DAP by letter on Monday (18 May), stating that they warranted the dropping of the disciplinary proceedings against him, an apology by the Board, and his full reinstatement as teacher of German and History at Wilson's Hospital School. On Wednesday this week (20 May) the DAP responded, dismissing the concerns raised regarding Ms Callanan. One hour later the DAP issued a further โopinionโ letter striking out Enoch Burkeโs appeal without delivering any judgement on the substantive issues. At 10:05pm that same night Enoch Burke received an email from the Board of Management of Wilsonโs Hospital School claiming that he was now โdismissed.โ This morning (Thursday) Barrister Rosemary Mallon for Wilsonโs Hospital School made an application in the High Court for the case of Enoch Burke to be addressed. Enoch Burke was forced to dial in virtually from Castlerea Prison in Co. Roscommon. At the subsequent hearing Rosemary Mallon announced the decision of the DAP to the court. Enoch Burke raised the serious issues regarding Ms Callanan and his letter of 18 May to the DAP. Judge Brian Cregan refused to address these issues and instead requested that Rosemary Mallon read out the DAPโs โopinion letterโ to the court in full. Enoch Burke strongly objected to this as he had not himself received or read this letter himself at this point, being incarcerated. He reiterated the invalidity of the DAPโs decision, having regards to the serious conflict of interest regarding Ms Callanan. The Judge refused to uphold his objection. Simeon Burke, who was present in court, then requested that the Judge uphold the law and fair procedure in this matter and not allow the reading of the DAPโs decision in circumstances where the teacher had not even had a chance to receive or read it, and where a serious question mark had been raised regarding its validity. Judge Brian Cregan refused to have regard to Simeon Burkeโs submission and rose from the bench. Subsequently Garda Michael McGrath violently removed Simeon Burke from the courtroom. The media have shamefully failed to report on the shocking revelations regarding Claire Callananโs conflict of interest as Chair of the DAP. Shane Phelan of the Irish Independent, Orla OโDonnell of RTร, Ann OโLoughlin of the Irish Examiner, and others - all of these were made aware of the situation regarding Claire Callanan earlier this week but have failed to report on it. By withholding this information they are denying the truth to the public. ![A Sickening Portrait of Abuse: What Traci Kornak Allegedly Did to an Old Vulnerable Woman New documents reveal a former Dem bigwig took away toilet paper, lightbulbs and Christmas cards, all while draining Rose Burdโs bank account By Charlie LeDuff Charlie LeDuff Traci Kornak grew angry when she found out the authorities were on to her. And she punished the old woman for it. She isolated her. She didnโt even tell the old woman that her family members had died. The old woman liked to sit with the lights on. So, Kornak, her court-appointed conservator, removed the lightbulbs and the night light. She instructed that her room be kept cold. Kornakโagainst the wishes of the old womanโinstalled cameras in her quarters so she could monitor the comings and goings of investigators. Kornak, who was recently the Michigan Democrat Party Treasurer, attempted to secretly record a confidential conversation between the old woman, Rose Burd, and a social worker who chronicled the abuse for two laborious years, trying to build a case against the politically powerful lawyer and orchestrate her removal from the womanโs life. Investigatorsโ reports and forensic accounting documents obtained by Michigan Enjoyer paint a sickening portrait of abuse and betrayal of Rose Burd, who died last year at age 87. They also show that the authorities charged with protecting the vulnerable and elderly woman dithered. Kornak would buy items like bulk toilet paper with the old womanโs money, but only give her a sleeve of it. Kornak swapped Christmas cards sent by family members with unsigned replacements. She verbally abused the old woman: โSo youโre going to be a f***ing bitch today. Great.โ It is now alleged that Kornak looted Burdโs estate while she was the Democrat treasurer. That she used the old womanโs debit card for expensive clothes and liquor and food for herself. And when the old woman died last year, Traci Kornak incinerated her body even though Rose had asked for a Catholic burial. Cremation, after all, is cheaper than a casket. Kornak lived the high life. โEssentially Ms. Kornak, you were making a significant living off Ms. Burd,โ said Allegan County Chief Probate Judge Jolene Clearwater. Kornak had come to court in an extravagant fuchsia overcoat. Observers in the gallery wondered how it was paid for. Black would have been more appropriate. Black is funereal. And Kornakโs career, reputation, and freedom are on life support. After a three-year investigation, Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker last week leveled three felony charges against Kornak: two counts of embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, and one charge of false pretenses. Combined, they carry a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison and restitution. Kornakโs friends seemingly have abandoned her. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, whom Kornak often bragged about being a happy-hour buddy, has said nothing in her defense. Attorney General Dana Nessel, too, has a personal and well-documented relationship with Kornak, having hired her as a transition team member in 2018 when she was elected Attorney General. Kornakโuntil last yearโwas one of the most powerful Democrats in Michigan, tasked with handling tens of millions of dollars of the partyโs cash. Now Kornak is a pariah. Looking at Burdโs case file compiled by investigators at the Kent County Sheriffโs Office and the stateโs Adult Protective Services, it seems all of it could have been stopped, and should have been stopped, well before Burdโs death. Six enforcement agencies watched in real-time. The Kent County Sheriffโs Department. Adult Protective Services. The County Prosecutor. The Attorney Generalโs Office. The Michigan State Police. The Attorney Grievance Commission. Governor Whitmer was fully aware. But Kornak was powerful. She was among the untouchables. Cross Kornak, and you could find yourself on the unemployment line. In one log, Stephen Conrad, the APS worker assigned to Rose Burd, memorialized a call he had with Amanda Van Essen Wirth, a special assistant attorney general attached to Nesselโs office. โThe case was reviewed with Amanda,โ he wrote in February 2025. โShe reported that because of the sensitivity of the case and the connection that Ms. Kornak has with government officials and the mystery surrounding the last people to blow the whistle on Ms. Kornak that it was best to waitโฆ With what is being reported Amanda did not feel comfortable with the filing in Probate.โ Rose Burd died six weeks later. In the end, Kornak will face a jury, but there is Nesselโs culpability too. In her capacity as attorney general, Nessel had the original case against Kornak. Her office conducted an investigation that appears to be little more than sock-puppet theater. I was contacted four years ago by Joe LeBlanc, director of the assisted living center where Burd lived, Heather Hills. Burdโs room, board and medical needs were paid by an insurance company after her catastrophic car wreck more than a decade ago. LeBlanc accused Kornak of concocting an ornate scheme to bilk the insurance company of an addition $50,000 for care provided to Burd by Kornakโs daughter, care that does not appear to have ever been given. I wrote the original story in July 2022. Nessel had no choice but to open an investigation. Curiously, Kornak called Nesselโs chief investigatorโunpromptedโaccording to AG documents obtained through a public records request. Kornak told Nesselโs investigator that she was indeed withdrawing $50,000 from Burdโs accounts to pay her daughter, but was planning to replenish those funds once the insurance company sent the check. But the insurance company had already sent the check six months earlier, and that check was returned by Heather Hills. Nobody in Nesselโs office, it seems, noticed the obvious inconsistency. Or they simply ignored it. Now with Kornak charged in Kent County, Nessel is attempting to cover her tracks since she is the subject of an impeachment investigation by the House Oversight Committee. โThe Attorney Generalโs office is either one of two things,โ said Committee Chairman Jay DeBoyer (R). โIt is either wholly incompetent or it is corrupt.โ Or perhaps, it was both. Why? Because Nessel jumped an ethical fire wall constructed by her staff to prohibit her from communicating with Kornak. Again, according to internal AG documents, not only did Nessel communicate with Kornak, she pushed her staff to send Kornak the active criminal case fileโฆ against Kornak herself. Worse, the attorney generalโs investigator never talked to Rose Burd. Nor her caregiver. Nor Joe LeBlanc. This needed to go away, Nessel implied to her staff in December 2022. โMs. Kornak has contacted me regarding this matter. Mr. [redacted]โs allegations are apparently holding up a potential judicial appointment for her in Kent County. She has requested the documents from our investigation.โ Whitmer was going to make her a judge. And so, the documents were indeed sent to Kornak. Two weeks later the case was officially closed. But Kornak never got that judicial appointment. A few weeks after Nessel closed the case, a caregiver for Rose opened a bank statement of hers that had been mistakenly sent to the nursing home. Normally, all of the old womanโs mail went directly to Kornak. Even the family Christmas cards. The caregiver noticed a $30,000 withdrawal. When confronted with the statement, Kornak snatched it and shouted, โWhatโs that? Give it to me! You donโt need that, thatโs mine!โ The caregiver approached Adult Protective Services with her suspicions. And thatโs Kornak became especially abusive toward the fragile old woman, according to APS documents. Kornak demanded that caregivers leave Rose in the dark. She duct-taped the switches and the thermostat. She forbade the caregivers from giving Rose her constipation medicine. The reports are as outrageous as they are nauseating, especially in light of Nesselโs social media theatrics claiming elder abusers will be sent to prison. A forensic audit commissioned by the Kent County Sheriffโs Office has found questionable payments and transactions to Kornak from Burd totaling at least $419,640.05. That does not include Roseโs insurance settlement from her catastrophic car accident. A special fiduciary for Allegan County Probate Court said he cannot find a record of it and is now conducting his own forensic analysis stretching back 10 years. When called in for questioning by the sheriffโs investigators, Kornak didnโt hesitate to invoke her political connections: โIโve already been cleared of this by the Attorney General.โ It should be noted that Burd left a trust fund for her son, 64, who is a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. The fiduciary is hunting for that money as well. If anything good can come of this horror, it would be the passage of legislation that might truly protect the societyโs most vulnerable who are caught up in the hell that is Michigan probate system. A system that has shown itself to be corrupt all the way up to the governorโs mansion. As if this conflict alone wasnโt concerning, the fact that Fanning was later under an inconclusive internal investigation by the MSP for โwhether [he] failed to adequately supervise by not taking appropriate action after Trooper Proctor sent inappropriate texts to a group of subordinate members, specifically, if he took any corrective action to address the unprofessionalism and inappropriateness of Trooper Proctor's textsโโthereby making him a potential witness & demonstrating his clear conflict, is incredibly concerning. In the full sit down interview w/ #KarenRead & Attorney Alan Jackson, Ted Daniel asks them about the potential jury tampering that occurred at the first trialโnotably with the ultra curious last minute dismissal of 3 jurors, whose body language, reactions/expressions & outward demeanor appeared favorable to the defense, in addition to the โsupervisionโ of the jury by one of Michael Proctorโs bosses, NCDAO SPDU Trooper John Fanning. It would be dishonest to try to claim that Trooper Fanning had no stake in the outcome of the Karen Read trial. Arguably, anyone with ties to the NCDAO, its SPDU or the Canton Police Departmentโand notably those with close ties to Michael Proctor, like his own supervisor, have clear conflicts of interest in this case. As you may recall, Trooper John Fanning was the lead investigator in the Sandra Birchmore case where he and his investigators concluded that Birchmore committed suicide while allegedly pregnant with a fellow Police Officer, Matthew Farwellโs baby, and wasnโt the obvious victim of murder by that same Officer who also raped and groomed her from a young age as revealed by 30k+ text messages inexplicably โoverlookedโ by Trooper Nicholas Guarino & Fanning. The Feds investigated that โinvestigationโ too and have since indicted Matthew Farwell in Sandra Birchmoreโs murder. Additionally, Trooper Fanning was in one of Michael Proctorโs abhorrent group text message threads where he disparaged Karen Read. Fanning was subsequently internally investigated by MSP for this, and his failure to properly โsuperviseโ Trooper Proctorโinteresting that such a person would be chosen to โsuperviseโ the jury. In a statement from the State Police, they said: โThe Departmentโs internal affairs investigation determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove or disprove the allegation that Lieutenant Fanning violated rules and regulations by failing to uphold the responsibilities of a supervisory member. This allegation has been classified as unfounded.โ Frankly, given the circumstances of this case, it would be concerning if any member of the State Police oversaw and supervised the jury. Why was ANY member of the State Police supervising the jury? Has anyone ever heard of this beforeโPolice Officers from the same agency that investigated, testified against & was a part of the prosecution against a defendant having one of their personnel in charge of and in direct control of the jury? This canโt possibly be a standard practice due to the obvious existing conflict, no? Plus, were it standard protocol, then why wasnโt the defense made aware of this fact until 10 minutes before making closing argument, after a nearly 10 week long trial? โโโ Something majorly stinks about this, and perhaps it sheds some light on something peculiar that one of the deliberating jurors, who was recently interviewed by Aidan Kearney, kept saying in regard to the juryโs deliberative process. Specifically, something that stood out to me from juror Ronโs interview was his repeated use and references of the other jurorsโ use of the term โdistractorsโ to qualify or describe the abundant evidence representing โreasonable doubtโ brought out by the defense at trial. โDistractors.โ Itโs somewhat of a novel term, especially in this context, and is obviously antithetical to a juryโs duty to assess a case based on the proof beyond a reasonable doubt standard, which is inherently intertwined with an assessment of the existence of, or lack thereof, reasonable doubt. There was no evidence or instructions from the court that came out at trial directing jurors to view defense evidence or ARCCA experts, for instance, as โdistractors,โ and the jury is very specifically instructed not to view/consume/bring any outside information into their deliberations. In other words, if theyโre unsure who the ARCCA experts were there on behalf of (the Feds), theyโre specifically told not to โfill in the blankโ with information thatโs not there, or evidence that didnโt come in at trial. So where did the informationโthis use of the term โdistractorsโ come from? Who fed this term and this concept to the jury? The reason why it seems like it was โfedโ to the jury is because it goes against everything the court, Judge Beverly Cannone, instructed them on. So, what prompted the whole โdistractorsโ concept to taint the jurorsโ minds and deliberations? โโโ What immediately came to mind was the jury tampering by court clerk Becky Hill in the Alex Murdaugh murder trial. In that case, according to Murdaughโs attorneys, Ms. Hill โinvented a story about a Facebook post to remove a juror she believed might not vote guiltyโ. Judge Clifton Newman, who oversaw the murder trial, removed the female juror from the panel. According to the Murdaugh defense motion, Ms. Hill had gone to Judge Newman โ the day after Murdaugh testified, not long before closing arguments โ claiming that she had seen a post in the local Facebook group โWalterboro Word of Mouthโ from the jurorโs former husband, Tim Stone. The post purportedly claimed that the juror was drinking with her ex-husband and, when she became drunk, she expressed her views on whether Murdaugh was innocent or guilty. A follow-up post from an account called Timothy Stone apologised for the post saying that he was driven by โSatanโ. Murdaughโs attorneys claimed that the Mr. Stone behind the Facebook posts was actually a random Georgia man who was ranting about his wifeโs aunt โ and has no connection to the case. Additionally, information from jurors had come to the defenseโs attention about inappropriate comments supposedly made to them by Ms. Hill while she was โsupervisingโ themโthe same role as โsupervisorโ that Trooper John Fanning allegedly played in the Karen Read trial. In Murdaughโs case, the jurors were *actually* brought back into the court and were called to the stand one by one and questioned about potential comments that may have tainted their verdict. A female juror, identified only as juror Z, said that Ms. Hill had told some of the jurors to โwatch [Murdaugh] closely.โ โTo me, it felt like ... she made it feel like he was already guilty,โ juror Z said. A separate juror, Juror E, said that he heard Ms. Hill say โwatch [Murdaughโs] body languageโ, but claimed that this did not affect his decision. โโโ There were reports, at the time of the dismissal of the 3 defense-favorable jurors at Karen Readโs trial, that right before closing arguments, Trooper Fanning had reported the information responsible for dismissing these jurors to Judge Cannone. Among that information was reportedly a story about one of those jurors, claiming theyโd been overheard discussing the case while drinking at a bar (or something to that effect)โa story that sounded highly suspicious at the time, particularly given the fact that Trooper Fanning had allegedly had that information weeks before, but never reported it to the court. The similarity in Becky Hill and John Fanningโs โstoriesโ leading to the dismissal of defense-favorable jurors is rather uncanny. โโโ Is it not problematic to have individualsโwith conflicts of interest, who are also potential witnesses, and who seemingly have a vested interest in the outcome of the trialโbe in charge of overseeing and supervising the jury? Iโve attached the referenced MSP Internal Investigative Report for Trooper Fanning to this post (attached in the comments below). Whatโs troubling is that, despite acknowledging in their report that โthese allegations came to light on June 10, 2024, during the trial,โ they didnโt immediately initiate an internal investigation, but instead waited until AFTER the trial ended, July 3, 2024, to launch their internal investigation, almost as if they were planning on not initiating an investigation had Karen Read been convicted, because apparently in that case the misconduct wouldโve been justifiedโฆ or something? It should also be noted that this same practice was employed for most, if not all, of the other Police Officers in this case, whose misconduct was exposed by the defense throughout the prosecutionโs case at trialโwhereby, despite admissions and the existence of evidence of their misconduct, the MSP, NCDAO and Canton PD seemingly did everything they could to avoid initiating any investigations or holding their officers accountable for their misconduct until after the trial endedโwhen they could no longer justify not doing anything. It makes you wonder: Had Karen Read been convicted, do you think theyโd (the MSP, NCDAO or CPD) ever launch any internal investigations into the misconduct of their officers, as evidenced at trial, weeks before? โโโ It should be mentioned that in the Sandra Birchmore case, which Trooper Fanning led the investigation of, despite the Feds spoon feeding the State Police & NCDAO (DA Michael Morrisseyโs Office) overwhelming evidence + probable cause, in addition to punting the ball back to the state to do the right thing and charge Farwell with murderโa state level charge, theyโve refused to take any action to this day. In fact, not only has it now been nearly 6 months since the Feds apprehended & indicted Farwell, but the NCDAO, Fanning and the State Police, aside from taking no action, have made no statements and are still of the official position that Sandra Birchmore killed herself. To try to save face, the NCDAO, through its former spokesperson David Traub, tried to create the impression that the DAโs Office had been long working in collaboration with the Feds to secure an arrest in the Sandra Birchmore case, claiming that โtwo of [the NCDAO SPDUโs] detectives were present at the command post ... while federal authorities were attempting to take Matthew Farwell into custodyโโwhatever that means. This, of course, is patently absurd because the DAโs Office and State Police couldโve โsecured an arrestโ years agoโnobody was stopping them, but instead they framed Sandra Birchmore for her own murder. Spokesperson Traub then had the gall to say that โmuch of the information that they [federal authorities] built on originated with our investigation, including the collection of thousands of text messages.โ (See a collection of statements from the NCDAO on the Birchmore case from reporting over the years, attached in comments below). While the Feds might be somewhat playing along with this narrative, donโt be fooled. Perhaps itโs to appease the very individuals who theyโre investigating for the supposed coverup of Sandra Birchmoreโs murder. Why? If the Feds had actually been collaborating with the State Police investigators from the NCDAO who investigated Sandraโs death, then at the Fedsโ press conference announcing Farewellโs indictment, U.S. Attorney (at the time) Joshua Levy wouldnโt have feigned ignorance when asked who the lead investigator was on the case before his agency got involved (see clip 3 attached). Had the Feds actually been *collaborating* with the State Police & the DAโs Office, John Fanningโs name wouldโve been the first thing uttered out of Josh Levyโs mouth. On a side note: I think this is very telling. Does it mean the U.S. Attorneyโs Office is investigating Fanning? Who knows. But one thingโs for sure: Josh Levy 100% knew who the State Police lead investigator was and he deliberately avoided saying it. This observation is reflected in FBI Special Agent Chenee Castruitaโs 45-page long probable cause affidavit for the arrest of Matthew Farwell, which notably contains ZERO references whatsoever to John Fanning, or any of the other involved State Police investigators for that matter. Thatโs telling. If there was so much โcollaboration,โ like DA Michael Morrisseyโs Office wants the public to think, then not only would USA Josh Levy have had, at the very least, Trooper Fanning up there side-by-side with him at that press conference, but he wouldโve acknowledged him by name in his press conference. Why hasnโt the NCDAO charged disgraced former Stoughton cop Matthew Farwell with murder? Is it yet another case of โpinning it on the girlโ to cover up for fellow Police Officersโ crimes? โโโ Of note, Trooper Fanning grew up in Stoughton, graduating from Stoughton High School in 1998, the same year that Matthew and his twin brother Williamโwho also grew up in Stoughtonโthen 12 years old, became participants in the Stoughton police youth program. As Karen Read points out in the interview with Ted Daniels: โThere were familiarities among players that never shouldโve happened. Thereโs a sleeve of homicide in the Norfolk DAโs office, as there is in the other counties of Massachusetts. And yet, the person assigned to investigate this caseโostensibly investigate this caseโlives a mile down the street from the crime scene.โ (See clip 4 attached). Why is it that when thereโs seemingly crimesโin this case murders, involving cops, that the NCDAO SPDU appears to send the most conflicted Trooper with the closest ties to that cop/those cops? In Officer John OโKeefeโs murder, the Trooper that lives down the street from 34 Fairview and is โsecond familyโ with the Alberts is obviously the last person who shouldโve ever responded to that case, yet he was the lead investigator. Just the formation of an institute that planned on studying consciousness caused phenomena to start taking place and some of it was negative in nature. To me, that's problematic. And none of this we expected, we hadn't asked for anything, positioned anything, decided to do anything in this kind of research. Our whole intention to begin with was simply trying to get ourselves up to speed in the literature, after being away from this for so many years, focusing on [the] space world, right? That's been mainly what I've been doing - except for the Skinwalker Ranch thing for 20 years - is the space world...has been huge in my life to pursue. The legitimate, parochial kind of, you know, using fire engines, rockets to get you there (smiles). "So we didn't expect anything like this to happen." (Again, this is various phenomena that allegedly started happening once they formed BICS with the intention of studying consciousness (including life after death), and apparently, some of it was not good. If the second one being the ET, is a little bit lower. And this first one: Is there any part of your consciousness that survives your bodily death? That's a big deal, that's a huge story, that's gigantic." (I'd push back and suggest that both Holy Grails may be connected or related and the 2nd one may not be ET at all. This other intelligence (which John Keel labelled, "Ultraterrestrials") may reside in, or be able to enter, the same realms we enter when we die. But are they talking to the dead, or is something else going on?) ~~~Excerpt from Operation Trojan Horse by John Keel~~~ In 1866, a New Englander named William Denton declared himself to be the first modern contactee. He claimed to be in telepathic contact with beings from another planet, and he and his whole family later purportedly visited Venus and Mars. Denton wrote a series of books describing saucer-shaped vehicles in detail, which he thought were made of aluminum. (A commercial process for manufacturing aluminum was not invented until 1886.) He also told his audiences (he lectured widely) that the folks who rode around in aluminum airships looked very much like us. His narratives were, in many respects, identical to those of the modern contactees. Trance Mediums and Possession Trance mediums were nothing new in 1850. In the Bibleโs First Book of Samuel, Chapter 28 describes how Saul consulted a medium (โโฆ a woman that hath-a familiar spiritโ). Mediums acted as oracles in ancient times, and people with this peculiar gift appeared in each new generation. Such persons seem to serve as instruments through which the ultraterrestrials can speak to us directly, and they often come up with amazingly accurate prophecies of the future and precise details of events that could seemingly be known only to the dead relatives of the people who consulted them. Of course, when spiritualism became a national fad, a goodly number of charlatans and hucksters moved in. But most of the genuine mediums exercised their talents carefully and for free. They did not indulge in fancy hocus-pocus and did not need paraphernalia, such as spirit cabinets. They wereโand areโpeople who can apparently summon up unseen entities or alien intelligences and extract information from them. I am not a spiritualist myself, although I have attended a few sรฉances over the years, usually in the role of a scoffer and disbeliever. As a longtime amateur magician, I have been able to see through the frauds, but I have also been genuinely perplexed by some of the manifestations I have personally witnessed. Essentially, a trance medium lapses into an unconscious state, and while in this condition, his or her body is taken over by some outside influence. This influence is usually a self-styled โIndian guideโ from โthe other side.โ Many mediums have been simple, uneducated people, but when in a trance state they have been able to talk foreign languages fluently. Scientists and clergymen have put countless mediums through severe tests over the years. At one group of sรฉances in the 1920s, sitters, who were all versed in different languages, grilled mediums in everything from ancient Chinese to Swahili, and the controlling entities not only conversed in those languages but corrected the sittersโ grammar! The daughter of Judge Edmunds, president of the Senate in the 1850s, gave incredible performances while in a trance, speaking fluently in Greek, Spanish, Polish, Latin, Portuguese, Hungarian, and several Indian languages. Because the sittersโand the mediumsโassume that they are dealing with residents of heaven, they ask mostly spiritual questions. Customarily, the โcontrolโ will announce that Mr. Blank is standing next to him and wishes to speak to Mrs. Blank, who is attending the sรฉance. Mrs. Blank excitedly begins to question her dead husband, Mr. Blank. How is life on the other side? Just fine, the control replies, a little bored, everyone lives in vine-covered cottages, and all is sweetness and light. Where did Mr. Blank hide his valuable gold watch before he died? Itโs wrapped in an old sock and buried under some papers in the bottom drawer of the old rolltop desk, the control answers. Sure enough, when Mrs. Blank gets home, she finds the watch exactly where the mediumโs alter ego said it would be. Try to convince Mrs. Blank that she didnโt talk with her dead husband! In many cases, the medium even begins to talk in a voice that sounds exactly like the dead Mr. Blank, uses his pet expressions, and even refers to things known only to Mrs. Blank, indulges in their private jokes, and so on. Occasionally, a deceased celebrity will โbreak through.โ Recently the late George Bernard Shaw made a tape recording in England that is now circulating in occult circles. Those who knew Shaw claim that it sounds exactly like him, uses his phraseology and vocal mannerisms, and displays his brilliant and distinctive wit. The trance phenomenon deserves extensive study because so many aspects of it are directly related to the contactee phenomenon. The contactees have been told a hundred different stories of what life is like on other planets. If you review the descriptions of heaven produced at the thousands of possibly genuine sรฉances, you will find the same contradictions. The entities will lie transparently at one point in the sรฉance, and a few moments later will come up with astounding information that could not be based upon simple trickery. The mediums themselves have always been aware of their controlsโ mischievous sense of humor. They speak of false shades and malevolent spirits who perform outrageous hoaxes. So the mediums and the professional investigators are always wary. The fact that a control can imitate George Bernard Shaw does not necessarily mean that GBS is doing the speaking from the spirit world. The fact that a control knows where Mr. Blank hid his gold watch does not necessarily prove that Mr. Blank is standing at his side โon the other plane.โ The medium generally remains completely inert while in the trance or โoccupiedโ state but in some instances can become quite animated and make gestures appropriate to whatever is being said. In a very real sense, the mediumโs mind has been blanked out, and his or her body has been completely taken over by the control. The medium has become a zombie of sorts, possessed by an alien entity, an entity who lacks a physical form of his own. Contactees often find themselves suddenly miles from home without knowing how they got there. They either have induced amnesia, wiping out all memory of the trip, or they were taken over by some means and made the trip in a blacked-out state. Should they encounter a friend on the way, the friend would probably note that their eyes seemed glassy and their behavior seemed peculiar. But if the friend spoke to them, he might receive a curt reply. In the language of the silent contactees this process is called being used. A used person can suddenly lose a day or a week out of his life. I have known silent contactees to disappear from their homes for long periods, and when they returned, they had little or no recollection of where they had been. One girl sent me a postcard from the Bahama Islandsโwhich surprised me because I knew she was very poor. When she returned, she told me that she had only one memory of the trip. She said she remembered getting off a jet at an airportโshe couldnโt recall getting on the jet or making the tripโand there โIndiansโ met her and took her baggage. She remembered nothing further after that. The next thing she knew she was back home again. It seems likely the same methods are applied to both mediums and contactees. In the case of the mediums, the mind control serves a useful purpose. It enables the entities to establish direct vocal communication with us and, in many instances, pass along worthwhile information. This process can also be destructive. A young man from Ithaca, New York, called me some time ago at the urging of William Donovan, president of Aerial Investigation and Research (AIR), to tell me of his close brush with death. One evening in the fall of 1967, he said, he left his home to drive to a meeting. For some reason he couldnโt explain, he got out of his car, went back into his house, and carried out several aimless actions such as picking up a book from a table and putting it on the shelf. โFinally, I said to myself, Okay, itโs time,โ he told me. He remembers leaving the house and again heading for his parked car. The next thing he knew he was in a hospital bed. He had apparently driven about four miles to a railroad crossing just in time to meet an oncoming train. His car was demolished, but he escaped rather miraculously with only a few minor injuries. If he had not gone back into the house and carried out those meaningless, time-killing chores, he would have avoided the train altogether. It is possible, of course, that the shock of the accident blotted out his memory of that four-mile driveโbut he couldnโt even remember putting the key in the ignition. This man had been active in investigating the UFO flap that took place around the radio telescope installations near Ithaca in 1967-68. In his book Passport to Magonia, Dr. Jacques Vallee, a NASA astronomer and computer expert, touches on all this. โIn the Soviet Union, not so long ago, a leading plasma physicist died in strange circumstances,โ Dr. Vallee states. โHe was thrown under a Moscow subway train by a mentally deranged woman. It is noteworthy that she claimed a โvoice from spaceโ had given her orders to kill that particular manโorders she could not resist. Soviet criminologists, I have been reliably informed, are worried by the increase of such cases in recent years. Madmen rushing through the streets because they think the Martians are after them have always been commonplace. But the current wave of mental imbalance that can be specifically tied to the rise and development of the contactee myth is an aspect of the UFO problem that must be considered with special care.โ So there seem to be both good and evil forces at work in this type of phenomenon. The good guys latch onto people with particularly receptive minds and turn them into trance mediums. The bad guys use the same methods to tamper with the minds of contactees and even to commit murders indirectly. Because incidents of these types can be traced throughout history, it seems probable that these forces have always been extant on this planet. When the good guys worked through mediums, they needed some excuse that we would accept. The answer seemed to be โcommunication with the dead.โ These communicative efforts led to the foundation of spiritualism, and the entities played the role to the hilt, using their complete knowledge of us and our individual lives to provide us with โproofโ of the existence of a spirit world. This is the same precise methodology being employed with the UFOs to build up support for the extraterrestrial thesis. We humans need acceptable explanations for unnatural phenomena, so โtheyโ happilyโand often humorouslyโsupply us with all the explanations we can handle. At the same time, they give us tiny fragments of the real truth, hoping no doubt that we will be able to digest them slowly. Ever so slowly. In earlier times it seems as if they made a complicated attempt to convey the truth to us through mediums and psychics, but we chose to misinterpret these efforts and placed them within the context of our primitive religious beliefs. We are still doing this, and they are going along with it because even misinterpreted communication is better than no communication at all. Religion may not be truth but may merely be a step on the long path of the real truth. Do the ultraterrestrials really care about us? There is much disturbing evidence that they donโt. They care only to the extent that we can fulfill our enigmatic use to them. The Reverend Arthur Ford is one of Americaโs best-known trance mediums. For most of his life he has served as an instrument for an entity who calls himself Fletcher. In 1928, Fletcher announced that Harry Houdini (who had died in 1926) was on hand and had a message which he wanted conveyed to his widow, Beatrice. The message was in a code once used by the Houdinis in a mind-reading act. This code was known only to the couple and had never been published or revealed to anyone. Fletcher, through Ford, was able to give precise details of this secret code, and Mrs. Houdini later confirmed that the message had to come from her husband. This was only one of Fordโs many coups. In the fall of 1967, Ford went into a trance on Canadian television and produced a message for Bishop James Pike from his deceased son. Bishop Pike, who was present at this televised sรฉance, avowed that the message seemed authentic and seemed to come from the familiar personality of his son. This well-publicized sรฉance launched a major revival of spiritualism in the United States. Reverend Ford travels in high circles but has never made any material gain from his peculiar gift. He gives freely of his timeโand Fletcherโs advice from the other sideโat sรฉances all over the country. Mrs. Ruth Montgomery, the well-known author and Washington reporter, tells of the time that Reverend Ford visited her in Washington and lapsed into a trance so she could ask Fletcher for some advice on his behalf. Reverend Ford was then in the process of moving and wanted to know what he should do with some of his things. Fletcher seemed totally disinterested in Fordโs problems, Mrs. Montgomery reported, and when she asked if Ford should visit a clinic for a checkup, Fletcher snapped, โHeโd better do something. If he doesnโt, I canโt work through him much longer.โ Although Reverend Ford had voluntarily submitted his person to Fletcherโs use for nearly half a century, the entity was apparently completely disinterested in his problems and welfare. This is, alas, rather typical. Even the most helpful entities seem more dedicated to the job of communicating than to any kind of involvement with those to whom (or through whom) they are communicating. The bizarre history of psychic phenomena is filled with Fletchers. Mrs. Montgomery, incidentally, indulges in automatic writing herself and has received constant messages for the past few years, many of which have been valid prophecies and stern advice meant to govern her future actions. There have been innumerable psychic hoaxes for the past 150 years, and many of these parallel the UFO hoaxes. In 1855, the Fox sisters confessed that their spirit rappings were a hoax. They said they produced the sounds by โsnapping their toes.โ Think about that for a moment. Snapping your toes so that it sounded like a rap on a wall or table would be a most remarkable talentโperhaps even more remarkable than the ability to communicate with the spirit world. I donโt believe I would pay ten cents to hear someone talk to a rapping spiritโbut I would happily pay five dollars to examine someone who could duplicate the rapping sound by snapping his toes. Later the two sisters said the confession was false, and they had been bribed to make it. "Mrs. Houdini was genuinely astonished and impressed by Reverend Fordโs messages from her husband, and she made numerous public statements to that effect, as well as signing various affidavits. But later, in the 1930s, she chose to deny it all for a time. Then, shortly before her death, she reversed her denials. In ufology we have to contend with teenagersโ hot-air balloons, and in psychic phenomena we have to worry about youngsters firing rocks at houses with slingshots and phony mediums levitating โspirit trumpetsโ with black thread. But there are many more UFO sightings than there are plastic balloons, and there are more poltergeists dumping rocks in living rooms than there are wild-eyed youngsters with slingshots. There are also more ultraterrestrial entities than either the occultists or the UFO enthusiasts dream of." ~~~Edit of the Bigelow Interview~~~ Bigelow: "I also, I was...I got very disturbed toward the end (of AAWSAP) about something that happened to some of the government people, and I realized uhh...holy crap." (Read, "Skinwalkers at the Pentagon." I think it's one of the most important UFO books in recent memory.) George Knapp: "Hitchhikers." Bigelow: "Umm... Well, yeah. You know. So, hitchhikers being that you take things home with you. Everybody took things home with them. I took things to my house. Things happened to my wife, and to me. Different things. So, everybody took things home. We all, you know, we did. But we didn't know that, gee, it was like, gonna be kind of permanent. You know, we didn't know that, you know? That it's gonna stay with you for maybe...for years and years or the rest of your life, who knows? "But the ones that bothered me a lot where anybody got hurt or really disturbed... Not that it happened on the ranch, it was when they left the ranch. As you say, hitchhikers. And these were government people and it affected them." Knapp: "In very dramatic ways, though." Bigelow: "Very dramatic ways. Very dramatic ways. You know, and there's a cousin to that that we're facing, but it's abated, at least for now. And this other survival topic, right? The very dramatic kind of things that we wanted to have reduced or stopped." (The "cousin" to the hitchhiker phenomenon features the not-so-rosy things he referred to early on in this clip. But at least it had abated at the time of this interview. Has it started up again?) Bigelow: "But going back to the government people, the buyer (Brandon Fugal) came along at the right time, I had decided I wanted to tone down..." Knapp: "Take this off your plate." Bigelow: "Yeah, take it off my plate, tone it down, and if necessary, just lock it up and forget about it. And next thing I know, you know, [Fugal] comes along and, you know, the rest is history." Knapp: "Before we leave this, though, the incidents that happened to you, to your wife, to Colm (Kelleher), to me, the, you know, you bring it home. How does everybody handle that? I mean, is it spooky at the time, and do you draw the connection that it's ranch related?" Bigelow: "Yes and no. If the events hadn't happened very often prior to the ranch, then it's not ranch connected. But they did happen." (I think he meant to say, if the events hadn't happened prior to him buying the ranch in 1996 and did happen once he made the purchase, then it would seem to be connected just to the ranch. But he says these anomalous events did happen before he bought it. Maybe some events were connected to the ranch and others were not? Or, this precognitive sentient phenomenon, as John Alexander labelled it, was able to know that Bigelow was going to purchase the ranch in the future and began interacting with him and his wife before he bought it?) Bigelow: "And [these anomalous events] did [happen], where we lived with my wife and I. We had a poltergeist event one time that was really fun and very different, and that was before I ever acquired the ranch. My wife was a very strong - and probably still is, in spirit - person. And so she took them in stride. She had a full manifestation of an apparition, a human-form apparition in the bedroom, and looking at her. "And this was a holy cow. And she happened to tell me, kind of like, 'Oh, well, while you were gone, this is what happened here, a manifestation of this.' I've heard this kind of thing many times through other people, and recently. And she felt the bed depress as there was a curiosity going on because the facial features were distinctive enough to be able to...as though, 'Who are you and what are you doing here?' Coming from the manifestation from the apparition, looking at her, right? "And torso up was kind of what was manifested. And being able to see and feel the mattress being depressed as it's looking at you, wondering, 'Who are you?' That kind of look on the face. 'What are you doing here?' You know, usually you think it would be the opposite direction. 'Who the hell are you?'" (Fully-formed apparitions have been reported over the last 150 years or so but many times only partial bodies are seen. In this case, Mrs. Bigelow only saw the apparition from the torso up. When Leslie Kean sat with physical medium, Stewart Alexander, she said she only saw a hand form. The alleged spirits will say that, many times, it takes too much energy to form a full body. There was a bar of light - so this was not normal in the survival research, but maybe in the ET - that was between her pillows. A bar of light. It wasn't coming in from shutters or blinds or anything from the room or any kind of other light source. You could cover, put the pillows down, and the bar would not be reflected on the surface of the object above it, on the second pillow. It only happened when you did this. And she did that and said, 'Oh, well.' I said, 'Well, what did you do?' "'Well, I went to sleep.'
