RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR ALLEGEDLY PERSECUTES CHRISTIAN PG STUDENT We received an SOS in our DM from a student from RSU. According to accounts provided by the student of Rivers State University, an incident allegedly occurred on campus yesterday involving a postgraduate student and a senior lecturer. He reports that a PG student, who is a former President of the Postgraduate Christian Fellowship, entered a Year 1 Computer Engineering class during a free period to give a brief Christian/motivational talk. The student alleges that a lecturer identified as Prof. Benjamin Senibo Pepple from the Department of Physics and a former DVC entered the room during the talk and aggressively confronted the PG student. Witnesses claim that the lecturer allegedly slapped the student several times, pulled his shirt, and verbally harassed him before contacting the CSO. The PG student was allegedly detained by campus security from morning until night and is now reported to be in poor health. Students further allege that similar incidents involving Christian student leaders have happened before and are calling on the RSU leadership, state authorities, and the public to intervene. They are requesting an independent investigation to confirm what occurred and to ensure the safety and rights of all students. The student has been released but may soon be redetained, according to what the CSO allegedly said upon his release. Below are videos to the effect:

The brutal and cruel attitude of this Modi government was witnessed in the national capital yesterday. Students from all over the country are here to protest over the NEET and CBSE exams. The students of India have genuine issues. They are holding a peaceful protest over those issues. Is this the way to deal with a peaceful protest? This government is scared and completely insensitive. We are going to raise this issue again in the House today. We have already moved an adjournment motion condemning the lathi charge, asking for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan and asking for a clear-cut action on NEET and CBSE exam leaks. Modi is totally anti-student and anti-youth. He does not understand the psychology and pain of the students and youth of this country. He is completely responsible for yesterday's incident. I have been a student of DU during my undergraduate years, and I know the kind of politics that takes place in DU. The people who become office bearers in DUSU (Delhi University Students' Union) have nothing to do with the issues and concerns of Delhi University students. The aim is to highlight the concerns of Delhi University students and, secondly, urge them that if they want positive change at the level of their centres, they must actively participate in changing the politics of Delhi... It is important that the NTA, as an agency, is removed and that the NEP is completely rolled back."

POV of what led to Fairfield High School, Officer Bianca Brown allegedly used excessive force against student Maurice Williams. According to Fairfield police, a school resource officer responded to a "physical altercation involving multiple students on campus" just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say a high school student was fighting a school official who was trying to break up the fight. According to Fairfield police, the officer then saw another student trying to retrieve an item from a backpack during the fight - which the officer believed was a weapon. The officer then confiscated two backpacks. Police say the officer then escorted one of the students involved in the fight to a campus office. They say a large group followed the pair, including other students "who were actively trying to fight the student the officer had detained." After the student had been taken to the office, police say the officer tried to approach a second student who was trying to fight. The student refused to listen, according to police, and went back to a large group, where more students were fighting. The officer then tried to detain the second student, police said, but they tried to pull away. At this point, other police officers had arrived at the school to help with the response. Police say the student then hit the officer, which prompted the officer to perform what they called a "takedown technique" and place the student on the ground. As the officer tried to place the student in handcuffs, the student resisted, police said. In the press release shared Thursday, police detailed what happened before the officer placed the student in handcuffs. "The second student placed his hands over his head and covered his face. An officer grabbed his wrist and tried to place his hand behind his back. The second student tensed his arms, and the officer was unable to overcome his resistance," Fairfield police said. "The officer administered a distraction strike to the second student's hands. The officer tried again to pull his arm behind his back but was still not able to overcome his resistance." After additional "distraction strikes," police arrested the student. As police worked to arrest the second student, they say the first student, who had initially been taken to the office, ran out of the school office to where the officer and the other student were. The first student was later arrested. Police said they found sharp objects, including a screwdriver, in the two backpacks they confiscated. "At the end of lunch today at Fairfield High, there was a fight amongst multiple students.A Fairfield Police officer was working at the school, and called for additional officers to respond. My young fellow Goans, The recent developments surrounding the NEET examination have understandably drawn the attention of students, parents and educators across the country. Every student deserves the assurance of a fair and credible examination process. Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for paper leaks. The Government of India acted promptly against those responsible and conducted the re-examination to ensure that the hard work of lakhs of students did not go to waste. The integrity of our examinations will be protected, and the aspirations of our youth will always come first. With the results declared and the admission process now underway, I am confident that future examinations will be conducted with even greater transparency and stronger safeguards. I urge every student to remain focused on your aspirations and continue pursuing your dreams. On 30 December, I joined students from across the Northeast at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in a powerful, student-led protest demanding justice for Anjel Chakma, who lost his life after a brutal, racially motivated attack in Dehradun. The protest reflected the deep pain, anger, and insecurity that people from the Northeast continue to experience due to persistent prejudice and racial violence. Today I stand in solidarity and with a grave sense of responsibility.

THIS IS WHAT A BROKEN EDUCATION SYSTEM DOES TO STUDENTS A student who has lost all hope in the education system sat on a silent hunger protest. People pleaded with him. Abhijeet folded his hands. He told him this movement needs his strength, not his suffering. The student still refused to break. That is the part India needs to see. Students are not doing drama for attention. They are reaching a point where silence, hunger and pain become their last language. This is not anger anymore. This is what a system looks like when it has pushed its own students too far.

#WATCH | Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "...It is highly unfortunate that a few people are attempting to use the students and youth of our country as their political tool. Under the leadership of PM Modi, our Govt is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the students and youth, as well as their welfare...I am confident that the mature youth of India understands all such attempts and they will choose the path of development and nation building. We are also committed to ensure that there be no injustice to anyone, especially our youth and students. A few leaders in Opposition are creating a manufactured sense of anger among the people. I believe this is failed attempt to mislead the students. We are sensitive toward the youth. Monsoon session is underway and Govt has spoken about discussing all issues.
