Planted a sapling in Gadchiroli today, marking the launch of 'Harit Maharashtra, Samruddha Maharashtra', A campaign to plant 1 crore trees in the district. This is more than a plantation drive; it’s a commitment to preserving nature while driving development rooted in sustainability. Gadchiroli, with its rich forest cover, plays a key role in maintaining Maharashtra’s ecological balance. Between 2014 and 2019, 50 crore trees were planted across the State. As per the 2019 Green Cover Report by the Central Government, Maharashtra was the only State to record an actual increase in forest cover, a result of collective effort and strong public participation. Building on that success, 11 crore trees will be planted this year and 25 crore next year. In Gadchiroli, 40 lakh saplings are being planted this year and 60 lakh more next year. Saplings have been sourced from Rajahmundry and local nurseries are being nurtured to grow saplings of the same strength and standard, rooted in the region and ready for the future. Each tree will be geo-tagged and tracked, and officers have come forward to adopt saplings, turning this into a people-led movement to make Gadchiroli the greenest district. Alongside this, a meaningful step toward social inclusion was taken today as 23 youth from Naxal-affected families were directly recruited into the police force. 2 of them received their appointment letters during the programme, serving as powerful symbols of trust regained, transformation embraced and new beginnings forged Gadchiroli is moving ahead. Gadchiroli's Growth: Forged In Steel Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects of Lloyds Metals and Energy ltd. at Gadchiroli today, marking a significant step forward in the district’s journey of transformation. The dream of making Gadchiroli a steel hub is no longer just a vision, it’s now taking shape on the ground. Through green steel production, Gadchiroli is set to create steel that’s not only of higher quality than China’s, but also more affordable. Back in 2015–16, when mining first began here, the challenges were immense, Maoist threats and broken infrastructure. Yet, we stood firm. And today, the result is in front of us. Over 14,000 local youth are working with Lloyds, many of them women who started in housekeeping and now drive Volvo trucks, earning ₹55,000 a month. This is the true face of empowerment. With the integrated steel plant, 20,000 new job opportunities are on the way. And to prepare our youth for them, college has already been started under Gondwana University. A joint program with Curtin University in Australia is also active. Our focus is clear; progress, but with sustainability. An 80-km slurry pipeline, the first in Maharashtra and fourth in the country, has been set up to control pollution. Public transport is already gas-based and is transitioning to full electrification. The mission to plant 1 crore trees over the next 2 years has also taken off, with 40 lakh saplings being planted this year. This isn’t just about industry. Schools, hospitals, housing, and a stake for every worker, that’s our model of development. In the next 5 years, the district is set to be among Maharashtra’s top 10 in terms of per capita income, and in the years ahead, is poised to lead from the front. Gadchiroli's Growth: Forged In Steel Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects of Lloyds Metals and Energy ltd. at Gadchiroli today, marking a significant step forward in the district’s journey of transformation. The dream of making Gadchiroli a steel hub is no longer just a vision, it’s now taking shape on the ground. Through green steel production, Gadchiroli is set to create steel that’s not only of higher quality than China’s, but also more affordable. Back in 2015–16, when mining first began here, the challenges were immense, Maoist threats and broken infrastructure. Yet, we stood firm. And today, the result is in front of us. Over 14,000 local youth are working with Lloyds, many of them women who started in housekeeping and now drive Volvo trucks, earning ₹55,000 a month. This is the true face of empowerment. With the integrated steel plant, 20,000 new job opportunities are on the way. And to prepare our youth for them, college has already been started under Gondwana University. A joint program with Curtin University in Australia is also active. Our focus is clear; progress, but with sustainability. An 80-km slurry pipeline, the first in Maharashtra and fourth in the country, has been set up to control pollution. Public transport is already gas-based and is transitioning to full electrification. The mission to plant 1 crore trees over the next 2 years has also taken off, with 40 lakh saplings being planted this year. This isn’t just about industry. Schools, hospitals, housing, and a stake for every worker, that’s our model of development. In the next 5 years, the district is set to be among Maharashtra’s top 10 in terms of per capita income, and in the years ahead, is poised to lead from the front. Infrastructure, Investment, and Water Conservation – Maharashtra on the Rise!✨ It was an overwhelming moment to be at 'TiEcon Mumbai 2025: India’s Leading Entrepreneurial Leadership Summit' in Mumbai, today. Humbled to receive the 'TiE Mumbai Hall of Fame' award at the hands of the legendary, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy ji. This award is a proud recognition of the governance model we embarked on in 2014 under the visionary leadership of our Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji. Receiving this award today is not just an honour but a realization that our efforts are making a real difference and that we are on the right path together. All these transformative infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai and MMR—be it the Coastal Road, Atal Setu, Metro Network, or the Vadhavan Project—have become a reality because of our governance, which turned aspirations into achievements. Every project has been backed by thorough study and dedicated efforts, and under the visionary leadership of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, we have worked relentlessly to make them happen. Today, these ongoing projects are set to boost the State’s growth significantly. The 4th Mumbai will be created in the area of Vadhavan which will emerge as a dynamic new city, driving massive GDP growth and creating a thriving business ecosystem. In just 5 years, we planned and initiated 372 Km of metro, out of which 150 Km is now delivered. With each passing year, we will continue expanding and delivering more, ensuring a stronger and more connected Maharashtra. Being recognized for water conservation is a significant achievement. In 2014, 14 schemes were executed by 6 different departments. We streamlined them into one scheme, one leader, and one department, launching the ambitious 'Jalyukt Shivar' initiative. Our goal was to make 25,000 villages drought-free, and the Marathwada region saw a significant rise in water levels. In the 2020 Government of India's Groundwater Report, Maharashtra was the only state to show improvement compared to others. This award also recognizes investments, and once again, Maharashtra has become the top destination for FDI. This year, we have broken all previous records—surpassing our own ₹31,000 crore investment milestone from 2016-17. In just 9 months, we have secured ₹1.39 lakh crore in investments, with 50% of the country's FDI flowing into Maharashtra. Today, Maharashtra stands as the new startup capital of India. We are dedicated to reviving Mumbai’s glory and propelling Maharashtra to unmatched greatness!
