Redefining Connectivity: Mumbaiโ€™s Journey Towards Integrated Mobility Delighted to inaugurate, flag off, and unveil the stone plaque of 'Metro Line 9: Dahisar (East) to Kashigaon (Phase-1)', โ€˜Metro Line 2(B) Deshbhakt N. G. Acharya Udyan - Diamond Garden to Maharashtra Nagar, Mandale (Phase-1), and e-Bhoomipujan of the Automated Rapid Transit System (Pod Taxi) Project for Bandra-Kurla Complex, and the launch of 'Tunnel Boring Machine - Nayak' for the 'Thane-Borivali Underground Tunnel Project' in Mumbai, marking a significant step towards seamless connectivity and transformative urban mobility. Metro services have commenced today on the 4.7 km corridor from Dahisar East to Kashigaon, with four stations along the route, enhancing connectivity and making travel between Mumbai and Mira-Bhayandar faster and more convenient. This project, with an investment of approximately โ‚น6607 crore, will reduce the current travel time from 1-2 hours to nearly 30 minutes. In the upcoming phases, this corridor will be integrated with Metro Line 3, enabling seamless travel from Mira-Bhayandar to Colaba. With over 100 kilometres of metro lines now operational, Mumbai has emerged as the second-largest metro network in the country after Delhi. In the coming years, the network will expand further with the completion of several ongoing projects, strengthening connectivity across the city. The first phase of Metro Line 2B, spanning 5.6 km with five stations, is now operational from today. Once the rest of the phases are fully completed, this transformative project will seamlessly connect the East-West and North-South corridors, enabling smoother and more efficient travel across the city. Notably, this will be the first metro line to connect with the Harbour Line, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Mumbaiโ€™s integrated urban transport network. The e-Bhoomipujan of the innovative โ€˜Pod Taxiโ€™ project was undertaken in the BKC area, marking a significant step towards strengthening last-mile connectivity. This automated system will enable commuters to reach within 100โ€“150 metres of their destinations, enhancing convenience and efficiency. The Thane-Borivali Twin Tunnel Project is a landmark initiative that will significantly decongest Mumbai and Thane cities. Spanning 11.84 km, including a 10.25 km twin tunnel stretch, this transformative corridor is designed for efficiency and safety, featuring two traffic lanes and one emergency lane in each tunnel. The tunnels are being constructed in a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly manner, keeping in mind the ecological sensitivity of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Mumbai Moves Forward! The final link of the Santacruzโ€“Chembur Link Road is now open, completing the integrated 10.30-km SCLR network between the Eastern Express Highway and the Western Express Highway. The 1.40-km Bharat Nagar Road (University Area)โ€“Vakola Junction Elevated Corridor, built under SCLR Extension Phase II, marks the final and critical link in a network developed progressively since the original SCLR opened. With the Phase I extensions and the completion of Phase II, the SCLR network now provides end-to-end signal-free eastโ€“west connectivity across: EEH โ†’ Chembur โ†’ Tilak Nagar โ†’ Kapadia Nagar โ†’ Kurla โ†’ Kalina โ†’ BKC โ†’ Mumbai University โ†’ Vakola โ†’ WEH The newly opened elevated corridor establishes seamless two-way connectivity between BKC and the WEH. Traffic from BKC will merge directly with the SCLR cable-stayed bridge, while traffic from the WEH will move from the existing Vakola Flyover onto the new elevated corridor. The completed network will help motorists bypass Kalina, Vakola and Kalanagar, with travel time expected to reduce by approximately 35 minutes on key journeys. It will also strengthen access to BKC, Mumbai University, Mumbai International Airport, major commercial hubs and surrounding residential areas, while improving commuter convenience, road safety and overall travel efficiency, and helping reduce congestion, fuel consumption, operating costs and vehicular emissions. One network. One seamless corridor. A faster Mumbai. #MumbaiInMinutes #MumbaiMovesForward #MMRDA #ReimaginingMMR #SCLR #InfrastructureIndia Devendra Fadnavis Eknath Shinde - เคเค•เคจเคพเคฅ เคถเคฟเค‚เคฆเฅ‡ Sunetra Ajit Pawar Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee

๐Ÿ—๏ธ A major engineering milestone for Mumbai Metro Line 2B! MMRDA has successfully lifted and installed the first 70-tonne back-span pier segment of the Bandra Railway Over Bridge, marking the start of steel superstructure work on one of Mumbaiโ€™s most challenging cable-stayed bridges. The 200-metre bridge is being built across the Western Express Highway and Western Railway corridor near Bandra Railway Station โ€” one of Mumbaiโ€™s busiest and most complex transport environments. The cable-stayed structure comprises: ๐Ÿ”น A 104-metre main span, supported by back spans of 43 metres and 53 metres ๐Ÿ”น 49 composite steel segments, including 24 across the back spans and 25 across the main span ๐Ÿ”น Two 20.1-metre-high pylons, with four of six casting lifts already completed at both locations ๐Ÿ”น The entire substructure completed, including foundations and piers With the first 70-tonne segment successfully installed, work can now move ahead on the next stage of the steel superstructure. What makes this feat even more significant is where it is being built: across a live railway corridor and one of Mumbaiโ€™s busiest highways, with rail and road traffic continuing uninterrupted. A big thank you to the engineers, workers and teams on the ground whose planning, precision and commitment to safety have made this possible. ๐Ÿ™Œ This milestone takes Metro Line 2B, Mumbaiโ€™s vital Eastโ€“West connector from DN Nagar to Maharashtra Nagarโ€“Mandale, another step closer to completion. Once fully operational, Line 2B will cut travel time by up to 75%, help reduce congestion and pollution, and connect seamlessly with four Metro lines, the Monorail, and both Central and Western Railway. Another span in place. Another connection closer to reality. This is the #MumbaiInMinutes vision โ€” taking shape, span by span. #MMRDA #MumbaiMetro #MahaMumbaiMetro #MetroLine2B #MumbaiInfrastructure #Engineering #ReimaginingMMR #ReshapingMMR #RebootingMumbai CMO Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis Eknath Shinde - เคเค•เคจเคพเคฅ เคถเคฟเค‚เคฆเฅ‡ Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd MAHARASHTRA DGIPR PIB India PIB in Maharashtra ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ
