โœจ A real moment โœจ I want to take a second to be honest and transparent with you all. Behind everything I share online, I am still a human being trying to navigate life like anyone else. The truth is that this journey comes with a lot of ups and downs. Lately, I have been dealing with some financial setbacks that have been difficult to talk about. Two promoters still owe me money. One even wrote me a check that bounced, which ended up costing me almost $2,500, and another owes me $2,500 as well. That is about $5,000 I earned and have not received. I am not sharing this to complain. I know I am incredibly privileged to be able to do what I love, and I am deeply grateful for that. But I think it is important to remember that privilege does not mean a person never struggles. I am constantly working to rebuild myself, to create stability, and to grow from where I have been. There are still times when it feels like one setback after another. I am supporting my elderly adopted mom and saving for a major surgery that will be life-changing for my safety, my security, and how I move through the world. It is a big step, and recovery will take six to eight weeks. After I posted my lavender look from the GLAAD Awards, many of you asked for my tip information. I hesitated to share it because I never want anyone to feel pressured. But I realized that part of building community is letting people support you when they want to. I am not rich, and I am not untouchable. I am a person doing my best, and it means a lot when people choose to show love in any way. So if you have ever enjoyed a performance, loved a look, or just want to help me through this chapter, here is how you can: ๐Ÿ’œ Venmo: Venus ๐Ÿ’œ PayPal or Zelle: [email protected] ๐Ÿ’œ Cash App: $ajaibukole Whether you tip or not, please know that I appreciate you. Every kind word, every share, every bit of encouragement keeps me going. Thank you for seeing me as a full person and for being part of this journey with me. ๐Ÿ’œ

Novak Djokovic says for 99% of the players, reaching a Grand Slam final and a Grand Slam semifinal so far this year would be a very good result, but for him, itโ€™s not enough โ€œAt this point in your career, does it still remain about winning titles? Or can you leave a tournament like this with some satisfaction of being able to still compete at that high level and reach a semi of a major?โ€ Novak: โ€œLast year I reached 4 semifinals. This year out of 3 Slams I reached 1 final and 1 semifinal. For 99% of players that would be a very good Grand Slam result, for me itโ€™s not good enough. Because Iโ€™m blessed and cursed to be used to something of the highest degree in terms of results and achievements. In some way Iโ€™m also dealing with myself in a sense that Iโ€™m telling myself, look, this is amazing that youโ€™re still able to play at such a high level and push the youngsters to the limit for Grand Slam titles. But at the same time, I always have the highest expectations for myself. Itโ€™s kind of that internal battle of what Iโ€™ve been through for 20+ years of my career, what the goals were, the expectations.. and trying to also balance it out and trying to be a bit more humble in that sense. I still enjoy the thrill of competition. Maybe I donโ€™t enjoy all the hard weeks leading up to big tournaments, putting myself over and over again through a lot of pain, physically mostly. Iโ€™m glad that this tournament the body held pretty well. Pretty much every other tournament the last few years it was always something. I feel like when Iโ€™m healthy Iโ€™m still able to play as a top 5 player, still able to compete at the highest level. I like it. I like this life. Tennis has given me everything in my life and has allowed me an opportunity to become who I am. At the same time of course thereโ€™s always a question of how far do you wanna go, what you wanna play, how you wanna play, etc. I try to take it, in a sense, a day at a time and see how I feel. I donโ€™t have any pressure or no one is forcing me to play. I do it because I really want to and because I still can play as a top 5 player. Letโ€™s see whatโ€™s the future brings.โ€ (via Wimbledon Press)
