VIDEO - AIR SUPPORT UNIT ASSISTS IN ARRESTS FOLLOWING JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY IN RICHMOND HILL Offices responded to a jewelry store robbery in the area of Yonge St and Levendale Rd in Richmond Hill yesterday, shortly after 3:30 p.m. Three suspects were seen using hammers to smash glass cases. A quantity of jewelry was stolen and the suspects fled in a silver SUV driven by a fourth suspect. One employee received minor injuries after being assaulted by one of the suspects. Using out Air Support Unit helicopter, Air2, the vehicle was located in the City of Toronto where the suspects fled but were quickly taken into custody. The vehicle used by the suspects was confirmed to be stolen. Of the four suspects charged, Marlando MITCHELL, 24 of Brampton, and the two youths, were out on a combined 10 release orders at the time of the incident. One of the youths was also on probation. “The teamwork demonstrated by York Regional Police is a testament to the professionalism and commitment our officers have in pursuing individuals who commit violent acts in our communities,” states Police Chief Jim MacSween. “Of the four suspects arrested, one adult and two youths were out on release orders. Air1 Assists TPS in Locating Suspects in Shooting Investigation The DRPS Air1 helicopter assisted Toronto Police Service in the arrest of two suspects in a shooting investigation. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at around 4:00 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to the area of Thickson Road North and Taunton Road East after receiving information from Toronto Police Service that two suspects involved in a shooting in Toronto earlier that afternoon were in the area. Air1 conducted an aerial search of the area and located the suspect vehicle in a driveway of a residence in Whitby. Shortly after, the vehicle left the residence and Air1 followed the vehicle into Oshawa, providing updates to TPS and DRPS officers on the ground. At one point, the suspect got into another vehicle, which Air1 began to follow. At approximately 5:15 p.m., units were able to box in the vehicle the suspects fled on foot. Air1 followed one suspect, and he was taken into custody. At approximately 6:00 p.m. Air1 located the second suspect in a nearby playground and he was taken into custody. Three suspects were arrested by Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) following a house robbery in Redcliffe, KwaZulu-Natal. Body cam footage captured the arrest shortly after the men fled the scene. Three suspects forced their way into the business while armed with a firearm. They stole one of the victim’s vehicles and fled with a quantity of cash. In both incidents the suspects arrived in a stolen white Acura. On November 28, 2024, investigators located the stolen Acura and three suspects were taken into custody for possession of the stolen vehicle. On December 6, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., a third armed robbery of a spa occurred in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Steeles Avenue in Toronto. The team kept surveillance on the N3 road for the vehicle. Upon attempting to stop it, the vehicle sped off and a chase ensued which resulted in a shootout between the suspects and the police. Three suspects were shot dead and two unlicensed firearms were recovered in the suspects' vehicle. On Friday, June 26, 2026, PCSO deputies arrested 12 adults and 3 juveniles who were stealing food and drinks at the Davenport Wawa located on Old Lake Wilson Road; all of the suspects have been staying in an AirBNB visiting Polk from other counties in Florida. A 16th suspect was arrested during the investigation for interfering with deputies while they were detaining the theft suspects. Store employees contacted the Sheriff's Office after observing the suspects walking around the store, concealing bottled drinks and some food within their clothes. The group of people appeared to all know each other, and arrived at the store in three separate vehicles - a BMW, a Tesla, and a Honda Accord. Thornton, a three-time convicted felon is facing numerous charges including, Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification of Another (5 or More), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Armed Possession of Controlled Substance, and multiple felony warrants. More than $1,200 in cash was also seized.

Three Suspects Arrested After Carjacking in Oshawa Three suspects have been arrested after a carjacking in Oshawa. On Saturday, September, 13 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members from Central East Division responded to a carjacking in the area of Nonquon Road and Mary Street North. The victim parked his vehicle in a parking lot when he was approached by three masked suspects. The suspects began assaulting the victim before leaving the area in the victim’s vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle travelling northbound on Stevenson Road and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued northbound on Stevenson Road. Officers followed the vehicle and it went westbound on Conlin Road. The driver lost control, crashing the vehicle into a field at Conlin Road and Anderson Street. The three suspects then fled on foot into the greenspace. With the assistance of Air1, all parties were located and taken into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault and was treated at a local area hospital for his injuries. During a search of one of the suspects, officers seized a large knife and an airsoft gun. A 30-year-old male of no fixed address is charged with several offences including: Robbery with violence; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000.00; Disguise with Intent; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance; Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. A 19-year-old male of Scarborough is charged with several offences including: Robbery with Violence; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000.00; Disguise with Intent and Possess Weapons Dangerous to Public Peace x2. #WATCH | They thought they could get away from us. They were wrong. Last night at around 11:30pm our officers spotted a group of males in the city centre, who were all wearing balaclavas and dark clothing, riding e-bikes and doing wheelies along the road. They all tried to evade us, but unlucky for them, we carried out an effective tactical response and caught them all quickly after. One rider was caught and arrested on Renshaw Street, which you can see in this video, and a second rider, and his passenger were arrested near Rodney Street. A knife was found at the scene and one of the males was in possession of £5,000. A subsequent search of a property linked to one of the suspects led to the discovery of an additional £3,000 in cash as well as cannabis. Carlsbad California Police officers arrested two suspects connected to multiple retail thefts after a Crime Suppression Team investigation linked them to thefts at several businesses throughout the city. After approximately $3,500 worth of merchandise was stolen from ALO Yoga, Officer Wainie used investigative leads to identify the suspect vehicle and link the suspects to additional thefts throughout Carlsbad. Later that evening, Officer Leyva located the suspect vehicle parked at another shopping center, where officers believed the suspects may have been targeting additional retailers. Officers detained the suspects and recovered stolen merchandise from ALO Yoga, North Face, Nike, Marshalls, and Victoria's Secret. Investigators also learned the suspects had changed clothing throughout the day in an apparent effort to avoid detection. The Director-General of the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Department has disclosed that a joint team from the CID and the Bank of Ghana, acting on intelligence, carried out an operation at key hotspots in Accra including Tudu, Circle, Airport, and Osu, known for illegal forex trading. The exercise led to the arrest of 29 suspects, including Togolese, Beninese, Nigerians, and Ghanaians, on Tuesday, 9th December 2025. When officers returned to the area about an hour later, they arrested 12 more individuals, bringing the total number of suspects to 41.

Arresting a Vehicle Thief! Douglas County Days A deputies were patrolling the area when they spotted a stolen vehicle parked at a local hotel. While verifying the VIN, deputies quickly disconnected the battery to prevent it from being driven away. They kept eyes on the vehicle, and before long, two males got inside. Deputies activated their lights and moved in. The driver attempted to start the vehicle with a key, but when it wouldn’t start, he fled on foot — leading to a brief pursuit. Deputies quickly caught and detained the suspect.
