WATCH | Hi Please Share. These are the conditions that workers endure at Indarama Gold Mine in Kwekwe. We write with heavy hearts as Zimbabwean workers employed at Indarama Ming Chang Mine, Kwekwe. We are not against investment or mining. We want to work, build our country, and provide for our families in dignity and safety. Right now, that dignity is being taken away. These are the conditions we face daily, and we are speaking out because internal reports have led to victimization instead of solutions: 1. Safety Violations - PPE Denied & Sold to Workers Workers are being made to operate underground and in hazardous areas without proper Personal Protective Equipment. When PPE is available, it is sold to employees instead of being issued freely as required by the Mines and Minerals Act and Factories & Works Regulations. We are expected to buy our own helmets, boots, gloves, and dust masks from the wages we barely survive on. 2. No Clean Drinking Water or Sanitation The entire mine has no clean, potable water for workers to drink. Many of us are forced to drink shaft water. There are no functional toilets on site. This is a serious health and dignity risk. 3. Poor Wages, No Grading Structure Employees are underpaid with no clear grading or salary structure. There is no transparency on how wages are calculated, no promotions, and no career path for most general hands. 4. Inhumane Accommodation Workers are housed in small rooms built from sacks, tents, and plastics, directly on bare ground. There is no proper housing that meets basic health and safety standards. We sleep in overcrowded, unsafe structures exposed to weather and illness. 5. Victimization & Unlawful Dismissals As workers, we elected representatives to formally write to mine administration to raise these issues for resolution. Instead of dialogue, anyone who raises a concern is dismissed with immediate effect. Employees are being fired without due process, without hearings, and without reason. Fear has replaced safety. Our Plea: We are Zimbabweans. We want to work. But we cannot work safely, legally, or humanely under these conditions. We therefore humbly plead for urgent assistance and investigation from: 1. Ministry of Mines & Mining Development- For safety and compliance inspections 2. Ministry of Labour & Social Services- For labour law, wages, grading, and unfair dismissals 3. Ministry of Health & Child Care- For water, sanitation, and occupational health risks 4. His Excellency, the President- For intervention to protect Zimbabwean workers We are not trying to damage the mine. We are asking for the law to be upheld: safe PPE, clean water, decent toilets, fair pay, proper housing, and the right to speak without fear of being fired. Sincerely, The Workers of Indarama Ming Chang, Kwekwe

During his historic visit to New Zealand, PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji, while addressing the Indian community in Auckland, paid heartfelt tribute to the timeless teachings of our Sikh Guru Sahibs and the rich traditions of our faith like Langar Seva performed by Gurdwara Sahibs and Sikhs all over the world. PM Modi Jiโ€™s deep respect and affection for the Sikh community are reflected in several visionary initiatives undertaken during his leadership. From strengthening Sikh heritage sites, opening of the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor in 2019, befitting celebration of 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, 350th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, removal of GST from Langar Seva & FCRA approval for donations and providing better connectivity to holy sites of Sikhism, to declaring December 26 as Veer Baal Diwas, among several other initiatives. Modi Ji also personally ensured the safe passage of the sacred Swaroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the accompanying Sikh delegation from Kabul to Delhi in 2021 when I was immensely blessed to perform seva of the holy Swaroops upon their arrival in Delhi. In his address today, Modi Ji fondly recalled his visit to Takht Sri Harmandir Ji, Patna Sahib, where he paid obeisance to the holy Jore Sahib โ€œCharan Suhavaโ€ of Dasam Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and Khalsa Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. My family was immensely blessed to perform the seva of the holy Jore Sahib ever since Guru Sahib and Mata Ji themselves bestowed these sacred relics upon our ancestors over 300 years ago. They had remained in our familyโ€™s care ever since. When my family resolved to place these sacred relics in a permanent home where the Sikh Sangat and devotees of all faiths could pay their obeisance to the holy Charan Suhava, we were guided by the vision of PM Shri Modi Ji, who took a deep personal interest in ensuring a befitting arrangement. A committee of eminent members of the Sikh Sangat had the privilege of meeting the Honโ€™ble PM to present its recommendations for the safekeeping and display of the holy Jore Sahib at the divine birthplace of Dasam Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. ๐Ÿšจ Helen Whately has just said what every hard-working taxpayer in โ€œAlarm Clock Britainโ€ has been screaming for years โ€” and sheโ€™s absolutely right. โ€œAlarm Clock Britain is sick of paying out for Benefits Street.โ€ Why on earth would anyone drag themselves out of bed at dawn, pay crippling taxes, energy bills and rents, just to watch others rake in ยฃ30,000, ยฃ40,000 or even ยฃ60,000 a year completely tax-free on benefits? The incentives are completely broken. Work doesnโ€™t pay. The system rewards staying home while punishing the grafters who keep this country afloat. But letโ€™s be brutally honest โ€” this isnโ€™t just Keir Starmerโ€™s mess. The Tories had 14 years in power to smash the welfare trap and the mass-migration time-bomb that supercharged it, and they did next to nothing. Now under Labour the benefits bill is exploding, the housing crisis is swallowing entire towns, and native British families are last in every queue while foreign nationals and their families jump straight to the front. This is two-tier welfare in full disgusting view: British pensioners choosing between heating and eating, British kids priced out of homes their grandparents built, British workers taxed to the eyeballs โ€” all to subsidise a growing underclass and the demographic replacement experiment both parties enabled for decades. Hotels packed with illegal arrivals. Council lists flooded by foreign-born households. And a benefits system that actively disincentivises work for far too many. The hypocrisy stinks even more coming from MPs like Helen Whately herself โ€” happily claiming ยฃ39,000 a year in taxpayer-funded London rent on top of her six-figure salary and hundreds of thousands in expenses. The political class lectures us about โ€œscroungersโ€ while living very comfortably on public money themselves. The silent majority has had enough of being treated like cash machines for everyone except ourselves. We demand: โœ… A radical welfare overhaul โ€” British people and British contributors first. Strict work requirements, time limits for able-bodied claimants, and a hard benefits cap that actually means something. โœ… An immediate end to benefits for illegal migrants, failed asylum seekers and anyone who hasnโ€™t contributed. โœ… Mass deportations for foreign nationals living off the British taxpayer. โœ… A total halt to non-essential immigration until the welfare, housing and NHS crises are fixed. โœ… Real politicians who finally put Alarm Clock Britain โ€” the hard-working backbone of this country โ€” first, not globalist virtue-signalling and open borders. Enough is enough. The current system isnโ€™t broken by accident โ€” itโ€™s broken by design. The Tories failed. Labour is making it catastrophic. Only real change will sort it. Restore Britain. Britain first โ€” always.
