One of the first women that Rachelle met in the clubs had never interacted with a Christian. This woman grew up in extreme poverty, extreme abuse, and her family was in a cult. When she turned 18, they not only sold her to an older man, but also forced her to go into the strip club. When Rachelle met her, she was 18 years old and had no idea that there was kindness in the world. Rachelle began getting to know her and showing up in small ways. She shared with Rachelle how she didn't have food for her daughter. Rachelle would show up with food and eventually, this led her to come to church with her. She ended up giving her life to the Lord after a few times of attending church. However, that next week, she was back in the club. Rachelle said she immediately, as soon as she saw her, dropped to the floor and covered herself. She asked, "Are you okay? Like, what's going on?" The women responded, "For the first time, I actually feel naked." That day, she walked out of the clubs and left. Rachelle and her team helped her get into a transitional living program with her daughter and she is now a licensed counselor at a drug treatment facility—walking alongside other women who have similar stories.

Unvaccinated children are healthier. My daughter has never been injected and she didn't get her first cold until she was 2 years old. She's never had an ear infection or croup or any of the other illnesses that doctors try to "normalize" has she been sick? Yes, but her intact immune system kicks in and she's better within a day or 2.

This woman was trying to break into the fashion world. She and her photographer were going around NYC taking photographs that were bold and daring. She was in the process of taking this photo when a woman starts to yell at her about how she can’t work without looking out the window and seeing the young lady hanging onto the guard rail for a pose. She expressed she was worried she was going to fall. The young lady was more interested that the woman owns a magazine than she was about her own safety, she then proceeds to call her a Karen for their interaction. To me it seems like she was voicing honest concern, she wasn’t trying to cause an issue and it was in fact the actions of the young lady that was the cause of the distraction for those in the city that day. What is your take on this, was this a valid concern on the lady’s behalf?

This is one of my favorite player development stories of all time…. Sophie is one of the best players to come out of the Albany area, especially in the last handful of years. She was an unbelievable shooter in HS, signed to play for URI in the A-10. Before her Freshman year she developed a ‘wiggle’ in her elbow on her shot. It was tough for her to reach from the HS 3 pt line. I remember being nervous that if she couldn’t fix it, it would be hard for her to get on the court. She didn’t play much that whole year and during winter break, when she got home, we locked in and figured out a series of drills that would help her limit the wiggle and generate power on her shot. In this video are a couple of the drills, you can see how the elbow stabilized in just a couple days. The best part is that she was able to then go back to school, continue what we worked on, and improve it by shortening the dip and transfer that success to games. She went on to shoot over 40% from three that year, and broke the career 3 point record at URI. I’m really proud of how she took ownership of her development and achieved success!!

The entire reason Joe is on #Survivor48 in the first place is because of his sister. It was always her dream to play. And in the opening of the game, he told everyone her story, and that she was with him on that beach. I am so happy he got the opportunity to tell a story that is tragically all too familiar for many ❤️

“How was your day, Cora?!” This video is such a lovely illustration of toddler play that I couldn’t resist sharing. Here we see some of Cora’s early imaginary play - imitating a routine that plays out in her house each day as her older sister leaves for (and returns from) school. Notice that it’s not BEING at school that she wants to reenact (a concept for which she lacks personal reference), but the process of coming and going - alongside the tender family interactions that occur during each. So armed with an old backpack labeled with her sister’s name, she heads off “to school,” using a board book to symbolize a cell phone - as both her mom and older sister wish her well. Seconds later comes the big payoff. She “returns home” from down the hallway and is greeted by big sister with the same enthusiastic “how was your day” that the girls mother has doubtless modeled hundreds of time. A woman was finishing up her day, and was walking to her car in the parking garage. She sees something that’s terrified her, a car is moving forward and is about to go over the edge of the parking garage. She rushes over there to find a young woman, she stops her from driving, the young lady just got done working and she’s very tired. She put the car in drive instead of in reverse and didn’t even notice she was going forward instead of backwards. I’m convinced the woman saved the young lady’s life that day, had she not intervened it would have ended very differently. Should she have put yourself in harms way like she did, should she have taken the keys away?

Over her shoulder she heard an elderly woman call to her “cover yourself up.” The young lady immediately took offense to what was said and assumed that the women meant that she was wearing revealing clothes. But the elderly woman was only expressing concern as this young lady was only wearing a sleeveless shirt and shorts, and she was worried she would get cold. Context matters and I can’t tell if she was picking a fight with the elderly woman or the comment of concern really just went over her head.
