𝗔𝘄𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲🚨🚨 Somalia’s Defence Minister Meets Sultan Wabar to Discuss Second Phase of National Unity Restoration Mogadishu – The Federal Minister of Defence, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, met today with Sultan Abubakar Elmi Wabar at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu. The talks focused on the second phase of restoring Somalia’s unity, set to begin soon in the Awdal region following the strategic victory in Las Anod. Also in attendance was the Deputy Minister of Health, MP Mohamed Hassan Mohamed (Bulaale). Sultan Wabar, one of Awdal’s most influential traditional leaders, is now actively engaged in efforts to reintegrate the region under Somalia’s national framework. This meeting followed an earlier high-level gathering in Mogadishu where Sultan Wabar, alongside other Awdal elders, met with Dr. Elmi Mahamoud Nur, the federal minister representing the Gadabuursi clan. Discussions centered on forging a unified vision for the political and developmental interests of Awdal. The Federal Government of Somalia has vowed to take every necessary measure to safeguard national unity and resist foreign-backed attempts to recognise Somaliland as an independent state — a move Mogadishu deems unacceptable and contrary to Somalia’s sovereignty.
