Some may call it an upset, but Chadron St simply calls it another day at the office, beating the #9/#11 Western CO Mountaineers on Saturday (11/8/25) in OT by a score of 27-24. Chadron got it done in all three phases of the game. The Eaglesโ€™ offense presented a balanced attack, gaining 111 yards and 2 TDs passing to go along with 148 yards and 1 TD rushing. The Eaglesโ€™ defense held the Mountaineers to a mere 38 yards rushing, had 7 tackles for loss, including 3 sacks, and came up with a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. The most impressive part of Chadronโ€™s team on Saturday had to be its special teams. The Eaglesโ€™ special teams blocked two field goal attempts and blocked a punt. Punter Brodie Eisenbraun stuck one punt inside the 5, drew a running into the punter penalty for a 1st down, and had an amazing run off of a high snap, which while it was not a 1st down, it shows what a stud he is. Then there is Kicker Wilson Yee. Yee made an impressive 50 yard FG in the 2nd quarter. Then, in OT, with ice in his veins, Yee made the biggest kick of his collegiate career, drilling a 47 yard FG to give the Eagles the win. Also leading Chadron to the win were: ๐Ÿˆ DJ Ralph, 10 Cmps on 22 Atts for 111 Yds & 2 TDs; ๐Ÿˆ Tommy Thomas, 4 Recs for 66 Yds & 2 TDs; ๐Ÿˆ Logan Oโ€™Brien, 10 Tackles (7 Solo & 3 Ast); ๐Ÿˆ Cooper Walton, 10 Tackles (5 Solo & 5 Ast) with 1 TFL, including 1/2 a Sack; ๐Ÿˆ Dax Yeradi, 4 Solo Tackles; ๐Ÿˆ Aiden Kuester, 4 Tackles (1 Solo & 3 Ast) with 1/2 a TFL & 2 INTs, ๐Ÿˆ William Stemler, 4 Tackles (3 Solo & 1 Ast) with 2 TFLs, including 1 Sack; & ๐Ÿˆ Ryder True, 3 Tackles (1 Solo & 2 Ast) with 1.5 Sacks. Chadron will be playing for the RMAC Championship next Saturday when they travel to battle the CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves. Here are a few of Chadronโ€™s highlights from Saturdayโ€™s OT win: #RMAC #RMACfb #CSCfb #ProtectTheRock #SoarEagles

After reviewing footage, authorities revealed that Rashid, who was alone in the room with the child, grabbed the little boy and threw him to the floor, bruising his wrists. The 300-pound teacher then knocked over a table and shoved it toward the child, who jumped out of the way and then hid in a corner. The teacher allegedly said horrible things to the child, called him โ€œthe devil,โ€ and told him, โ€œYou need to go to church.โ€ He also grabbed the small boy by his shirt, causing a heel-strike bruise and fingernail scratches on the childโ€™s chest. Not ONLY did the school allow Rashid to return after the incident, but it has also come to light that Rashid Mohagheghian had two prior as*ault arrests. Those cases were dismissed after he wrote an essay on anger management and completed an anger management course. NOW - Text messages exchanged between Principal Kimberly Kellner and Rashid Mohagheghian show internal coordination, restricted communication with a parent, and concern over documentation - with NO concern over the childโ€™s wellbeing. The tone had already been set when the principal told Rashid, โ€œMom does not get to call shots.โ€ In another message, the parent is described as someone who โ€œdoes not get to come do our job or hang out.โ€ The principal also told Rashid, โ€œPLEASE do not say anything to or send mom anything until you and I talk.โ€ โ€œI need you to write a statement about what happened leading up to the transportโ€ฆ duringโ€ฆ and after.โ€ Rashid responded that his โ€œpaperwork is in draftโ€ and would be reviewed by his family and father before submission. At the same time, the principal noted the need to โ€œreport back to central admin folks,โ€ indicating the situation had already moved up the chain. Communication with the childโ€™s mother was not immediate - it was managed and coordinated. Adding to the concern, one of the staff members referenced in the communications, Michelle Velasquez, remains employed at Bee Cave Elementary and is currently teaching the same familyโ€™s child. In the messages, she expresses concern about the potential consequences of her written statement, noting she was โ€œworried what [she] write[s] will get him (Rashid) in trouble.โ€ She expressed no concern for the six-year-old child. After communicating with the mother, she asked that I also note her son has reportedly been subjected to restraint 14 times within a six-week period during the current school year, and that the situation has now escalated beyond the district. The mother also stated that the school must make a good faith effort to reach out the same school day and notify parent in writing within 24 hours anytime a restraint is performed. This is according to the law. This was not done. Instead, the text messages show an effort to bury the problem. The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is currently investigating. Rashid is currently out on a $5,000 cash bond.

On May 8, 2025 I underwent spinal fusion surgery, a 6 hour procedure in which I was filleted from front to back. First, my abdomen was opened up so that the surgeon could scrape out the disc between L5 and S1, replacing it with a perforated cage containing bone grafting material that was screwed into my vertebra. Then I was flipped over and opened up on my back so that my surgeon could screw vertical rods into L5 and S1 to secure my spine position to ensure the fusion sets properly. The procedure was successful, correcting 15 years of lower back debilitation due to severe Spondylolisthesis. However, the recovery process demanded I endure far more than I bargained for, debilitating me in ways I thought might handicap me permanently. For the first 3 months I could barely move. For the first six months my activity was limited to walking only. Pain was constant. At nine months I was still in so much discomfort, still so limited in my range of motion, still too unstable to do anything to elevate my heart rate. My weight ballooned. My muscles atrophied. My mood plummeted. And I was becoming resigned to the idea that my athletic identity (let alone performing extreme feats of ultra-endurance) was a thing of the past, a memory well behind me. But very slowly after that I began to turn a corner. At ten months, I finally felt stable enough to resume a very modest non-spine compressing return to fitness exercise regimen. Zone 1 indoor cycling, gentle core work, extremely low weight / high rep resistance training. Proceeding on a โ€˜less is moreโ€™ mandate in late November (which demands discipline for someone like myself prone to taking everything to the extreme, I just showed up every single morning to do what I could, and stop well before doing more than I should. Today I am down 35 pounds from November (207 to 171) including a body fat reduction from 20% to 11%. More importantly, I am beginning to feel like myself again. Grateful and hopeful. I still have a long way to goโ€”it takes 12-18 months for the fusion to fully set. My surgeon was not optimistic that I will be able to run again. Time will tell of course, but Iโ€™m confident that provided I continue to proceed patiently that I have a future in which running can become part of my new reality. Towards that end I have a goalโ€”which is to celebrate my 60th birthday this Fall by participating in the NYC Marathon. But hereโ€™s the thing. Iโ€™m not trying to return to who I once was. Iโ€™ve leaned into the stillness this experience has demanded of me to become someone new and better. I am posting this story not for external validation but rather to say that change is always possible. And the way to do it is the same way I have navigated every one of my many life transformations, from alcoholism to sobriety, from sedentary to middle aged ultra endurance athlete, and from a corporate lawyer career to becoming an author and podcaster: getting sober and staying sober: by taking contrary action consistently and religiouslyโ€”one day at a time. As Chris Paul said on my podcast, โ€œkeep stacking days.โ€ And remember, every obstacle life presents you is simply an opportunity custom-designed for your growth and evolution.

Thoughts on โ€œrealโ€ training: Unfortunately, military, law enforcement, and civilians still find themselves shooting, quite slowly, different sized dots at 5 yards, nearly always while standing in front of the target before going dry and conducting a comedic / exaggerated / inefficient reload and finishing with a good (albeit rehearsed) scan of their local firing range. Or dumping a mag on a VTAC and admiring their group after a 2 yard walk. Shooting while moving must be conducted mostly while doing CQB with slow pies or it doesnโ€™t translate to combat. Donโ€™t forget up drills. Quite tactical. Allegedly. Letโ€™s pause here. Imagine for a second if an NFL wide receiver trained roughly the same but for his requirements. Said receiver only trains receptions by catching balls thrown slowly and directly at him. He scans for defenders post catch, every time or heโ€™ll never see them in a game. Speaking of which, he only practices sprinting is when he is running plays. If he sprints without running a play, itโ€™ll most certainly lead to bad habits. As a matter of fact, it doesnโ€™t really matter how fast he can move or how high he can jump, as long as he knows the playbook heโ€™ll most certainly outwit his opponents. Best to keep skill development slow, smooth, and safe so it doesnโ€™t negatively impact his strategy. Absurd. Pretend now itโ€™s 4th down, 4th quarter. Down by 3, out of field goal range. The quarterback puts the pigskin into the sky in an act of desperation right into a stacked secondary. But this receiver has been training his hard skills. Speed, agility, hand eye coordination with progressive overload and a plan. He is a fast, real fast. 39โ€ vertical, allegedly. No playbook here. Just raw physics and experience. Cut left, jump. Catch. Touchdown. You canโ€™t have a playbook for every contingency. In those situations you have to leverage skills. Indeed, hard skills should represent the majority of all training. For shooting, how fast and accurately can you shoot? Can you do it while moving? How fast can you move? Transition between targets? How automatic can you make it? How quickly can you move your trigger without disturbing your sights? Does the gun return naturally? Ditch the scripted theater; embrace the grind of progressive overload. Figure out how and what to train. Otherwise, youโ€™re not preparing; youโ€™re pretending. Remember, skills then tactics. (โ€œNot realโ€ training footage captured below)

Most competitive 49ers' training camp practice so far ended Block 3 โ€” fittingly, it coincided with Kyle Shanahan's return to the podium. Some highlights: ๐ŸˆUpton Stout will be a HUGE part of this defense. Pick 6 on a Brock Purdy-to-Demarcus Robinson try today. Raheem Morris said Stout is SF's starting "Star" โ€” that was Jalen Ramsey's versatile position in LA's defense ๐ŸˆOL/DL 1-on-1s didn't go well for Connor Colby, who lost multiple reps (rookie James Thompson got him twice). Robert Jones continued as top LG. Brett Toth (concussion) watched from sideline ๐ŸˆRomello Height had a fun multi-rep battle with Colton McKivitz. Slipped lost Round 1, then jumped offsides twice, then ripped out a wicked inside spin move โ€” speedy potential on full display. Height says he picks Trent Williams' brain after practice (smart move, per sources) ๐ŸˆDe'Zhaun Stribling was back in team drills. Purdy's first pass: Crisp out-breaker to the rookie, who continues to look polished and explosive. Stribling did log a catch vs Stout on another out later on ๐ŸˆBiggest offensive play came when 49ers spread defense out with Stribling and Co. to set up Purdy-to-McCaffrey on a 25-yard post ๐ŸˆThe logjam of young DTs โ€” Sebastian Valdez, Bryson Eason, and James Thompson โ€” will be interesting to sort out. All are flashing. Alfred Collins had a big pass bat-down today, one of his specialties ๐ŸˆJordan Watkins has had some struggles over the middle and today he dropped an intermediate crosser in traffic from Adrian Martinez ๐ŸˆNice adjustment from Junior Bergen on a similar route but with Kurtis Rourke at QB. Throw was a touch late and behind Bergen but the gritty young WR made it work. His good camp continues ๐ŸˆBest practice so far for vet CB Nate Hobbs, who notched 3 pass breakups, including one vs Bergen. Hobbs has been most effective inside during his career but he also knocked two boundary passes away today ๐ŸˆSoaring TD catch in end-of-game red-zone work from 6-2 rookie WR Wesley Grimes on a throw from Mac Jones ๐ŸˆPurdy found Luke Farrell for a last-second TD during his first turn of this hurry-up work. Farrell's pass-game usage has gone way up this camp; looks like a trusted target for 13 now ๐ŸˆDeommodore Lenoir INT of Purdy came on the first team's second red-zone try. Fourth down as time expired, so Purdy had to force a throw since no one was open and the "game" was on the line. Lenoir undercut Robinson ๐ŸˆBig run stop from rookie DT Gracen Halton, who's one of the most vocal players on the field. When Halton makes a play, you typically hear it from the sideline ๐ŸˆFred Warner notched a lunging PBU, showcasing that rare 6-4 LB height, and also scooped up a possible early fumble for a return TD ๐Ÿˆ49ers will be off Sunday before returning for their fourth 2-practice block on Monday, the second of which will be a joint session with Robert Saleh and the Titans โ€” so the work is ramping up at just the right time

โ€œNobody was openโ€ Caleb Williams had a throwing window to TE #84 Colston Loveland in the back of the end zone. Williams was looking right at him. Williams cocked his arm, but hesitated and โ€œthought better of it.โ€ Plus, he had a backside target #2 D.J. Moore in the end zone jumping around wide open on the opposite side of the field, but Williams never has seen the whole field wellโ€ฆ Of course, nobody will focus on how the moment was too big for him and how he hesitated instead of taking the shot with the No. 1 seed in the NFC hanging in the balance. Instead, theyโ€™ll just make more excuses for him. Too harsh? No, I donโ€™t believe it is. Some athletes want the ball in their hand in the biggest moment of their careers, and others do not. The problem with Williams is that he wanted to keep the ball in his hand, once again, way too long. I got 8.11 seconds when I put a stopwatch to it. That might be the longest heโ€™s ever held it. Itโ€™s the longest Iโ€™ve ever seen him hold it and I studied every snap he ever took at USC and have watched many of his games with the Bears since. Ben Johnson has done a GREAT job hiding Williams behind the No. 3 rushing attack in the NFL (149.1 yards per game Team Rankings) and with YAC receivers who have accounted for about half of his โ€œpassing yardageโ€ this season, but in the end, who players really are comes out in the big moments. In the end, the overwhelming urge for Williams to play hero ball again and do something more than just take what was there cost him and his team. Whether it was selfishness and/or fear of missing Loveland and not trusting his 57.9% arm, or a combination of both can be debated, but what canโ€™t be debated is this right here embodies why Caleb Williams is NOT IT in Chicago, ironically in the city where another athlete lived to take the shot. Yes, Caleb Williams is a bust. Outside of all the glamorized โ€œdink and dunk,โ€ short little passes and sporadic highlights that misrepresent his full body of work, itโ€™s once again confirmed that he is a bust, just like I wrote 107 days before the Bears selected him in this pre-draft scouting report: That doesnโ€™t make me happy by the way, I just wish prospects could get fair valuations based on what they actually show in college as projections so that their NFL careers could be framed with realistic expectations and they would have their very best chance to succeed, which is one of my main goals in what I do. With Williams, the bar was set way too high, which this play confirmed, yet again. All-22 video:

[TRANS] 250416 Actor Park Hae Joon Talks About โ€œWhen Life Gives You Tangerinesโ€ Success and ์•„์ด์œ (IU) on tvN You Quiz on the Block ๐Ÿ’ก Yoo Jaesuk (YJS); Park Haejoon (PHJ); When Life Gives You Tangerines (WLGYT) 1๏ธโƒฃ YJS: Both of us had fun watching WLGYT! Whenever people get together, this drama becomes the center of conversations. 2๏ธโƒฃ YJS: Thanks to WLGYT, the spring of 2025 will be remembered as a yellow canola field ๐ŸŒผ It took two years to produce the series that plays out over decades from the 1950s in Jeju Island to the present day. WLGYT reached No.1 in 12 countries, and is now the highest rated K-Drama on IMDb with 9.4 ratings and most buzzworthy TV-OTT drama in South Korea. Apparently IUโ€™s mom watched the show 4 times already, and I think itโ€™s reasonable. 3๏ธโƒฃ YJS: IU played dual roles in WLGYT as Ae-sun and as Gwan-Sikโ€™s daughter Geum Myeong. PJH: IU must have been so exhausted as she had to go back and forth playing two characters. So I was always worried and trying to cheer her up on set. I know I may sound awkward here but I think I was quite funny on set LOL 4๏ธโƒฃ YJS: Apparently you went to IUโ€™s concert after filming? PJH: Yes. The last time I was at a concert was about 20 years ago when I was in my 20s. It was a standing concert by Kang Sane and I had so much fun. But IUโ€™s concert was on a whole new level, I felt like I was at the Olympic Opening Ceremony, and I got many door gifts too. YJS: Yea, they gave seat cushions too! PJH: I was waving the lightstick, but she kept singing for 3-4 hours until midnight including encore, and this isnโ€™t the kind of energy a human can have! YJS: Sheโ€™s incredible. PJH: I was happyโ€ฆ but she was my daughter for sometime, so I went backstage to greet her after the show, she was all drained and had lost so much weight, it was so painful for me to see that and I thought she should go easy on herself. 5๏ธโƒฃ PHJ: Actually, IU has been sending me holiday gifts ever since we worked on together. She gave me tangerines marmalade in a jar, and Korean beef and ginseng during the holidays. 6๏ธโƒฃ [Gwan-Sikโ€™s Video Message for Geum-myeong] ๐Ÿ’Œ PHJ: Geum Myeong-ah! Dad is on You Quiz! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜† You do so much for me and send me gifts during the holidays, but I really donโ€™t know what I should get for you in return ใ… ใ…  Just tell me what you want and Iโ€™ll get it for you right away. There is a massive misunderstanding about what $APP actually is, and the recent Adam Foroughi interview just handed investors as a class in capital allocation, efficiency, and strategic vertical integration. At its core, AppLovin isnโ€™t solely an ad-network or a gaming business but an arbitrage engine. APP is essentially run by a skeleton crew of about ~400 core engineers and product builders generating $1.3B in cash flow a quarter. The gaming studio acquisitions were purely strategic. From roughly 2018 to 2023, APP bought up mobile gaming studios. It was accumulating over 15 studios and 1,500 headcount. This was not because they wanted to be a gaming company, but strictly to harvest first-party conversion data. They needed proprietary behavioral and return on ad spend data to train their Axon deep learning models because third-party advertisers wouldn't share it. Once the Axon 2.0 model launched in April 2023, it became so hyper-effective that the entire gaming industry had no choice but to plug in and share their data to access the platform's unparalleled returns. Having served its purpose, APP then shed the distraction, selling off the gaming portfolio to Tripledot Studios. This was pure strategic rent extraction. They used the asset to train the AI, built the moat, and immediately dumped the asset. Then there is the capital allocation execution. Back in 2022, when the broader market abandoned the stock and pushed APP's market cap to a floor of $3.8B, the business was still printing over $1 B in EBITDA. Instead of executing standard open-market share repurchases, management identified that their private equity backers and early insiders held nearly 50% of the float and eventually wanted liquidity. Management bypassed the public market entirely. They negotiated directly with those institutional holders to execute a massive $6 billion leveraged buyback. They effectively retired a huge portion of the company at rock-bottom valuations. Foroughi noted this singular move generated $50 to $60 B in retained value for remaining shareholders as the stock rebounded. While the rest of big tech hoards headcount, APP actively fired 40% of its workforce in recent years while growing revenue by nearly 100% YoY. The C-suite consists only of the CEO, CFO, CTO, and General Counsel. There is no CRO, no COO, and virtually no salesforce. They replaced standard enterprise bloat with LLMs. Over 80% of their codebase is now written by AI, multiplying the output of their highest-tier engineers up to 100x. The product nearly sells itself. Advertisers plug in, set a performance goal, and if the ROAS is positive, they scale spend infinitely. It turns advertisers into blind arbitrageurs. The TAM expansion is also clear. Now that the model has perfected gaming monetization, APP is unleashing Axon onto e-commerce and local SMBs. They don't need a massive sales team to do this. The AI matches the right intent with the right ad, pushing conversion rates up. The company literally has internal compensation triggers tied to a $1 T market cap. Given they have grown from under $4 B in 2022 to roughly ~$154 B in market cap today, betting against this lean, hyper-competent team does not make much sense.

2 months after Rocky I was released in 1976, Sylvester Stallone did an interview with the BBC. But it wasn't the Italian Stallion throwing punches. It was the hostโ€“โ€“who at one point said: "It was fairly presumptuous of you wasn't it? To expect to be able to star in it, because your career up to then had been small parts." Stallone's reply is a perfect mix of humility and determination: "I was mostly what is known as 'atmosphere.' I was in the background or the guy that was being the drunk that was stepped over in the gutter or other lame roles. But I felt like geez, if I was going to go down into professional obscurity, I wanted to at least have the opportunity to say to myselfโ€“โ€“'Well you tried.' You put your best foot forward, and you didn't make it. I just knew that I had to do it one time." Thought #1 Whether you love the Rocky movies or hate them, you've gotta respect the hustle. Stallone believed he was the man for the job and it was 'his time.' Too often we're content to take a back seat, let others lead the way, and generally keep our mouths shut. For reasons known only to ourselves, we're not good enough, not smart enough, and not cut out for the leading role. We're fine with being the 'supporting cast, the extras.' We sit in the back, keep quiet in the meeting, and cower in the face of opportunity. But we shouldn't. As my friend Sahil Bloom says, If you want somethingโ€”and youโ€™ve done the work to deserve itโ€”ask for it. Closed mouths don't get fed." That's exactly what Stallone did. Later on, when asked how he ultimately sold himself to the high-profile producers, he explained it like this: "Knocking on windows, pestering them, pressing my face in the door, honking the horn in the driveway, in other wordsโ€“โ€“making a real pain in the neck out of myself." No closed mouth for Sly. Thought #2 Producers loved the script, they just didn't want Stallone. At one point, they even offered him $265K to "just go away." Stallone refused, stating: "I knew if I sold out, even for $500K, I'd have become very bitter. I wanted to at least fail on my own terms." Damn right. About two years ago when I started writing on Twitter I had no connections, no real experience, no idea what I was doing. In fact, to this day, everything I've shared online has been from a makeshift office I set up in my garage. I'm not Stallone, but my mindset was similar. I wanted to fail (or make it) on my own terms. I'd spent 20 years traveling the traditional path: go to school, get a job, work hard, and wait for success to come. By some measures, I guess it had. But for me, I wasn't living the life I had always envisioned. So I took action. Could I return to a normal job, get a salary, and be paid to "just go away"โ€“โ€“sure. But I couldn't live with the idea that I'd never given striking out on my own a real shot. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have support from others to help make the transition easier, I did. But taking that first step was up to me, and in your life, it's up to you. The Stoic philosopher Seneca once said: โ€œPutting things off is the biggest waste of life: it snatches away each day as it comes, and denies us the present by promising the future. The greatest obstacle to living is expectancy, which hangs upon tomorrow and loses today. You are arranging what lies in Fortune's control, and abandoning what lies in yours. What are you looking at? To what goal are you straining? The whole future lies in uncertainty: live immediately.โ€ Closing: The point of all this is quite simple, I'm not sharing any new information or breaking new ground. You've got one life to liveโ€“โ€“go out and get what you deserve. Across 10 movies in total, the Rocky franchise has grossed in excess of $1.7B dollars. Average that out over the 47 years since the first edition was released and it equates to ~ $36M/YR... Not too shabby for the guy who was just "atmosphere."
