Everything I have always said about His Excellency Peter Obi comes down to one thing leadership built on prudence, accountability, and genuine concern for the people. Peter Obi has consistently shown a careful and disciplined approach towards the economy. He understands that governance is not about luxury, waste, or enriching a few individuals while millions suffer. Governance must be done prudently, with every kobo accounted for and directed towards improving the lives of the people. One thing that stands him out is his consistency in advocating for the reduction of the cost of governance. At a time when many public office holders focus on buying unnecessary houses, luxury properties, and expensive lounges in states they do not even govern, Peter Obi continues to preach and practice simplicity, accountability, and responsible management of public resources. Nigeria does not need leaders who see public office as an opportunity for personal enjoyment. Nigeria needs leaders who will invest in education, healthcare, security, production, and human development. Leaders who understand that public funds belong to the people and must be used for the benefit of the people. A working economy is built through discipline, production, transparency, and sacrifice not reckless spending and selfish leadership. This is the consistency Peter Obi has continued to demonstrate over the years. A new Nigeria is possible, and by the grace of God, Nigeria will be OK

โ€œIf there is an Olympics of good character and good governance, do you think the Yoruba people will bring President Tinubu?โ€ โ€” Adewole Adebayo, SDP Presidential Candidate. My Thoughts: Kai! ๐Ÿ˜ณ This one is deep โ€” and dangerously uncomfortable. Because the question is not really about the Yoruba people. It is about what we choose to reward, defend and celebrate in our leaders. If there were indeed an Olympics of good character and good governance, what would Nigeria's scorecard look like? And more importantly, would we select our representatives based on their performance and character, or would ethnic loyalty automatically qualify them for the national team? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of one's ethnic heritage. What becomes problematic is when ethnicity becomes a shield against accountability. A Yoruba man does not become a good president simply because he is Yoruba. An Igbo man does not become a good president because he is Igbo. A Hausa-Fulani man does not become a good president because he is Hausa-Fulani. Leadership is not an ethnic inheritance. It is a public trust. The real test is simple: Has the government improved the lives of Nigerians? Has it strengthened institutions? Has it reduced poverty and insecurity? Has it demonstrated prudence, transparency and accountability? Has it given Nigerians reasons to hope? These questions have no tribe. So, perhaps the most uncomfortable question is not whether the Yoruba would โ€œbringโ€ Tinubu to the Olympics. It is this: If the medals were awarded strictly on character, competence and governance outcomes โ€” without ethnicity, religion, propaganda or political loyalty influencing the judges โ€” who would Nigeria actually put on the podium? Kai! Adewole Adebayo has thrown one serious stone into the political hornet's nest. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And judging from the noise already coming from the political stands, somebody must have been hit. My Nigeria must eventually get to the point where we stop asking, โ€œIs he our man?โ€ and start asking, โ€œIs he a good man for Nigeria?โ€ That is when nation-building truly begins.

At the recent Round Table Meeting of the Senate Committee on Water Resources, I raised the issue of intervention projects supposedly completed within my constituency but kept hidden from my oversight since last year, despite my repeated requests for information. As the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, I firmly believe public officers must be held accountable for their actions. This principle has driven me to demand comprehensive details about the intervention projects reported as completed in the FCT. These projects were intended to benefit the people of the FCT; yet, while they appear completed on paper, there is no visible evidence of them. This raises critical questions: Who were the contractors? Who approved and supervised these projects? These are answers I am committed to finding. While minor delays or concealed information on one or two projects might be conceivable, it is highly troubling when 14 projectsโ€”covering essential areas like road construction, perimeter fencing, health care centers, and fertilizer distributionโ€”are claimed to be completed without transparency. This lack of accountability from the Director General of the Niger Basin Development Authority demands serious scrutiny. We must do better. Nigeria deserves a system rooted in transparency and accountability, where leaders are held responsible for their actions and decisions to build a nation for all. A new FCT is POssible!!! -SenatorIretiKingibe

Introducing our legal transparency portal What happened to Addis Standard must not disappear into scattered documents, court files, or social media posts. We will not allow the vague and convenient invocation of โ€œnational interestโ€ to obscure, distort, or erase the record of the state violence we continue to endure. The JAKENN Legal Transparency Portal brings that record together in one permanent, publicly accessible archive, documenting court proceedings, regulatory actions, official correspondence, legal filings, public statements, and key developments. The record matters. Transparency matters. Accountability starts with the facts. ๐Ÿ“‚ Court Cases โ€” Follow ongoing and past legal proceedings. โš–๏ธ Administrative Actions โ€” Access regulatory decisions, orders, directives, and notices. ๐Ÿ“‘ Documents Repository โ€” Search and download original legal and official documents. ๐Ÿ“ฐ News & Updates โ€” Follow important legal and procedural developments. ๐Ÿ“… Timeline โ€” See the documented sequence of state-led crackdown against Addis Standard from 2021 to the present. โ„น๏ธ About the Portal โ€” Understand its mission and commitment to transparency and due process. This is not a news website. It is a legal archive and transparency tool designed for journalists, lawyers, researchers, press freedom organizations, diplomats, institutions, and the public. Because evidence should be accessible and the records should remain visible.
