Alimot’s procession on Friday marks a significant moment in... her tenure as the Arugba, after she was unable to carry the sacred calabash during the 2025 edition because of her young age. The young princess was selected through traditional Ifa divination in March 2025 to serve as the new Arugba, succeeding Osuntomi Ewatomi, who held the revered position for about 12 years before her marriage brought her tenure to an end. The development comes days after Governor Ademola Adeleke called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stop what he described as persecution, selective arrests, intimidation and violence against Accord members and supporters, warning against alleged plans to manipulate the forthcoming election. Reacting to the raid, Accord maintained that no amount of intimidation or harassment would change the resolve of the people, insisting that the alleged police action would not stop the party's support across Osun State. What mining has done to the Osun river. There was a circular that devotees shouldn’t drink the water from the Osun river because they suspected it had been contaminated but there is problem of fate and faith. How do you tell people not to drink from what they believe in and what they have trusted for over 6centuries.? If you trace the source of the river from Ekiti, it is as clean as the Ikogosi water but the journey through ilesa and to Osogbo is where it can’t be ignored. It has gotten worse between 2020- 2026. This is where both the federal government and the state government decides the choice of climate change and the impact aggressive mining is doing to the faith of the devotees who believe in this sacred place. #SaveOsunRiver #SaveTheGrove #Konibaje

OSUN: I’m purposely making this a video just so the necessary people can see it. The committee in charge of Osun Osogbo Festival have always made the same mistake of leaving trash unattended to. I can bring 30images out from the last 5years and you’d see the same problem, an unhygienic environment and improper waste disposal because there are no visible trash bin anywhere within or people picking up trash on the big day. Isese community, especially with respect to those who make offerings by the riverbank on the big day, you need to do better! During off seasons, tourists are the ones who pay to enter the venue but none of the Isese community, Ìsàlè Osun or residents of Osogbo pay the compulsory entrance fee. Osogbo, you are the first to pick up your pieces before others do. While I do not discredit the efforts made by the people cleaning this place, this video was 24hrs after the Osun Osogbo festival around 7pm and it is still visibly dirty. You all really need to start making provisions for proper waste disposal especially with your brand sponsors and how there should be an arrangement to that. It shouldn’t be about the monies in the banks alone. To the elders in the community, please, teach your people how to be clean as they learn to keep on the legacy. Nobody wants to come to a community that doesn’t have basic proper hygiene. You can all do better. We can all trash waste properly. #Konibaje

The wedding drums had barely quieted in a village in #Haryana's #Panipat when panic swept through the home where relatives had gathered. A day of celebration unravelled into a nightmare after a six-year-old girl, dressed for the festivities, suddenly disappeared. Within hours, the joyous atmosphere turned into a frantic search and soon after, a crime scene. By the end of the day, police uncovered a chilling murder case with the main suspect reminiscent of the Evil Queen from the German fairy tale Snow White. A woman, accused of killing four children, has been arrested for murdering her niece in Panipat, police said on Wednesday. The reason: she did not want anyone to look "more beautiful" in the family than her. The accused, Poonam, drowned her 6-year-old niece in a water tub on Monday when the entire family had gathered for a wedding function in Sonipat. According to the police, Poonam had earlier killed three children, including her 3-year-old son in 2023, whom she had murdered the same way as her niece -- by drowning. The victim, Vidhi, lived in Sonipat and had come to Naultha village in Panipat's Israna area to attend a relative's wedding with her family. She was accompanied by her grandfather Pal Singh, grandmother Omwati, father Sandeep, mother, and 10-month-old younger brother. The incident occurred when the wedding procession arrived in Naultha at 1.30 pm on Monday, and all the guests gathered outside the relative's house. During this time, Poonam noticed Vidhi climbing the stairs to the roof. She followed her onto the rooftop of the house and struck up a conversation with the girl. Once she had gained Vidhi's trust, Poonam asked her to step into a plastic tub filled with water that was kept in the storeroom. As soon as Vidhi did so, she drowned her by forcing her head and neck under the water, latched the door from the outside, and went back downstairs. Soon after, Vidhi's father, who had left with the procession, received a phone call informing him that she was missing. The family began searching for her. About an hour later, her grandmother Omwati went to the storeroom of their relative's house. The storeroom door was bolted from the outside. When she opened it, she found Vidhi with her head submerged in a water tub and feet on the ground. The child was rushed to the NC Medical College, where the doctors declared her dead. Once she had gained Vidhi's trust, Poonam asked her to step into a plastic tub filled with water that was kept in the storeroom. As soon as Vidhi did so, she drowned her by forcing her head and neck under the water, latched the door from the outside, and went back downstairs. Soon after, Vidhi's father, who had left with the procession, received a phone call informing him that she was missing. The family began searching for her. About an hour later, her grandmother Omwati went to the storeroom of their relative's house. The storeroom door was bolted from the outside.
