Cooperation with Moscow also provides Pakistan with political cover within the SCO and the UN, reinforcing its image as a responsible stakeholder in regional security. 🔸 Russia's expertise in surveillance, cyber defense, and counter-drone systems complements Pakistan's operational needs. "A Clueless Donald Lu with a double love story" (A write up by a patriotic overseas Pakistani about the congressional hearing at the US congress 03/20/24) "There is one thing that you need to do. The American ambassador needs to visit Imran Khan in prison and make sure that he lives to tell tale how wrongfully he was jailed through selective prosecution". (Congressman Brad Sherman ) This one statement made today at the US congressional meeting is clear and loud enough to highlight the fairness of the Pakistani elections 2024. Congressman Brad Sherman was loud and clear telling the world that not that the prosecution of Imran Khan was wrongful and selective, but his life is also at stake as this has been the custom and a norm in Pakistan. Imprisoning and even murdering the political opponent in Pakistan through a “judicial” process” is not unprecedented. But what is unprecedented is this congressional hearing. It was the first time that such a hearing at the US congress was heard regarding the aftermaths of a Pakistani elections. There has been no such example in the past after any Pak elections. It is as unprecedented and remarkable as the passion of the Pakistani American diaspora to restore the democracy in Pakistan. Before I go further in the highlights of the hearing, I want to raise big round of cheers and applause for the Pakistani Americans who have been a constant torch bearer of democracy, rule of law and human rights in Pakistan. After 2 hours of hot and spicy questions which left Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu stunned and clueless at times, one thing has been stamped, proved, highlighted, and solidified. The Elections 2024 in Pakistan were a FARCE. 1. “Can you call the elections 2024 of Pakistan free and fair by any means?" asked Congressman Fluger Rep. August Pfluger . “We never used this term of free and fair for the Pakistan elections” Replied Donald Lu. "There have been flaws in all previous elections, BUT the flaws in 2024 elections were the greatest". (Congressman Brad Sherman What a spicy slap on the cheeks of the Election Commission of Pakistan who have been filing FIRs against the bureaucrats like Commissioner Rawalpindi who was the whistle blower and exposed the rigging. 2. The US response to this blatant rigging and unfair election was very generic. "A Clueless Donald Lu with a double love story" (A write up by a patriotic overseas Pakistani about the congressional hearing at the US congress 03/20/24) "There is one thing that you need to do. The American ambassador needs to visit Imran Khan in prison and make sure that he lives to tell tale how wrongfully he was jailed through selective prosecution". (Congressman Brad Sherman ) This one statement made today at the US congressional meeting is clear and loud enough to highlight the fairness of the Pakistani elections 2024. Congressman Brad Sherman was loud and clear telling the world that not that the prosecution of Imran Khan was wrongful and selective, but his life is also at stake as this has been the custom and a norm in Pakistan. Imprisoning and even murdering the political opponent in Pakistan through a “judicial” process” is not unprecedented. But what is unprecedented is this congressional hearing. It was the first time that such a hearing at the US congress was heard regarding the aftermaths of a Pakistani elections. There has been no such example in the past after any Pak elections. It is as unprecedented and remarkable as the passion of the Pakistani American diaspora to restore the democracy in Pakistan. Before I go further in the highlights of the hearing, I want to raise big round of cheers and applause for the Pakistani Americans who have been a constant torch bearer of democracy, rule of law and human rights in Pakistan. But, most importantly, he mentions in Koshur language in this video that, we (Kashmiri Muslims) shouldn't care about the Pakistani team as we have our beloved Indian cricket team. It is important to add that GEN Z of Kashmiri Muslims, who have grown up in post 2019 Kashmir by and large do not think like their elder brothers & sisters (Burhan Wani generation) or their father & grand father’s generation of Kashmiri Muslims ( Kashmirs aged 50 and above). This mindset brainwashed an entire generation of Kashmiri Muslims in supporting Pakistan in cricket matches, not out of sportsman spirit but for shared religious affiliation and hatred for Hindu community. This morning, Modi government issued a statement in Hindi, which said that Narendra Modi clearly told Donald Trump that ‘he has no role in the ceasefire, and we do not accept any mediation. The ceasefire was not done because of trade.’ But within a few hours, Trump has now said "I stopped the war between India and Pakistan. I love Pakistan. Modi is a wonderful man. I talked to him last night. Now we will also sign a trade deal with him. Asim Munir was influential in stopping the war from Pakistan's side and Modi among others did so from India. But I stopped the war between India and Pakistan." This is indeed very puzzling. The Modi government is saying something else and Trump continues to be adamant on his own claim - which he has now made for the 15th time in the last 38 days. The reality is that the information about the ceasefire was first shared by Trump on X and not the Indian Government. Why is Narendra Modi not able to state openly all that he allegedly told Trump over the phone? India awaits answers. This is a matter of our national security and sovereignty and cannot be treated so recklessly.

“Bahawalpur.” I still have chills in my heart from when I first heard that town’s name in late January 2002. For the 23 years since, I have reported on how Pakistani intelligence and military leaders have used that city — Bahawalpur — in the southern province of Punjab as a base for its homegrown domestic terrorists. When I heard India bombed training camps in Pakistan this week in Operation Sindoor, in response to a Pakistani terrorist rampage in India’s Kashmir state, I had one city’s name on my lips: Bahawalpur. Did India bomb Bahawalpur? It did. I knew then India was striking actual hubs for Pakistan’s homegrown domestic terrorism. Why do I know? My friend, WSJ reporter Danny Pearl, went to Bahawalpur in December 2001 with a notebook and a pen. Gen. Pervez Musharraf had just promised he was shutting down Pakistan’s militant groups after a strike by Pakistan’s terrorists against the Parliament in India, and Danny reported on the militant offices in Bahawalpur. He literally knocked on their doors. Dear Dr. Judea Pearl, this story is a window into Danny’s reporting enterprise. And because people will wonder: Danny was no cowboy. This was a calculated low-risk reporting trip because no journalist had been targeted for kidnapping in Pakistan. Around that time, Danny sent me an email: “I’m anxious to go to Afghanistan, but I’m not anxious to die.” What did Danny learn? The militant training camps were open for business in Bahawalpur. On Jan. 23, 2002, Danny left a home I had rented in Karachi, Pakistan, for an interview. I learned Danny’s fixer, Asif Farooqi, had arranged an interview for Danny through a man named “Arif.” Danny didn’t know it but Arif was the PR man for a militant group, Harkutul Mujahadeen. What was Arif’s hometown? Bahawalpur. The police launched a manhunt to find Arif in Bahawalpur. We learned Arif’s family faked a funeral for Arif. Police found him trying to board a bus in Muzaffarabad, across the country by Pakistan’s border with Kashmir. It is another town India said it bombed terrorist training facilities. Arif had handed Danny off to Omar Sheikh,a British-Pakistani dropout from the London School of Economics, radicalized in the 1990s in London mosques. He went to Pakistan to train in these militant training camps. Then he kidnapped tourists in India. He was caught and jailed but on Dec. 31, 1999, he was traded for hostages in the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814. Omar Sheikh was freed with Pakistani terrorist leader Masood Azhar, whose family was allegedly killed this week by India’s air strike in Bahawalpur. Did Pakistan jail Omar Sheikh and Masood Azhar when they returned to Pakistan with a third terrorist, freed from India’s jails? No. Pakistan’s military and intelligence gave them safe passage. They used them as weapons against India. But in fact these domestic terrorists have waged war against innocents in Pakistan, like civil society activists, Benazir Bhutto, Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, schoolchildren and countless others. Their extremism has ruined Pakistan, and Pakistanis can’t blame America for creating the mujahideen to fight the Soviets in the 1980s. Pakistan has had a duty to dismantle those terrorist bases — for even the safety of its own people. What India is doing is a strategic attack on terrorist bases Pakistani military and intelligence should have eliminated but never did in their obsession to take over Kashmir. You will see parallels in the propaganda messages against India and Israel. Like Hamas, Pakistani terrorists crossed a border to kill. Now, Pakistani propagandists call themselves victims of their “fascist” “colonizer” neighbor. It’s the Reverse Uno strategy of moral inversion, just like Dave Portnoy got from the Temple student who won’t take responsibility for promoting the “HATE THE JEWS” sign. Don’t fall for it. If this wasn't a strategic communication failure, then what was? Given that the factual matrix of the case was known for nearly a quarter of a century, why was the official counter-narrative wasn't thrown out? ▪️This prolonged information vacuum allowed a false story to be successfully weaponized, contributing to the radicalization of youth and the fomenting of insurgency.
