A 25-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly trying to shoot a young woman with an illegal pistol near a college campus in #Mallapura, near #Nelamangala on the outskirts of #Bengaluru. The incident occurred around 9am, triggering panic in the area and renewing concerns over the easy availability of illegal firearms along the city outskirts. The accused, #ShubhamKumar, a #Bihar native working as a bike taxi rider and residing in Nelamangala, was in a relationship with the victim, #Aparna, a nursing student from #Sikkim living in #Ejipura, police said. The two had been dating for over a year after meeting on Instagram. Three Suspects Arrested After Carjacking in Oshawa Three suspects have been arrested after a carjacking in Oshawa. On Saturday, September, 13 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members from Central East Division responded to a carjacking in the area of Nonquon Road and Mary Street North. The victim parked his vehicle in a parking lot when he was approached by three masked suspects. The suspects began assaulting the victim before leaving the area in the victim’s vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle travelling northbound on Stevenson Road and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop for police and continued northbound on Stevenson Road. Officers followed the vehicle and it went westbound on Conlin Road. The driver lost control, crashing the vehicle into a field at Conlin Road and Anderson Street. The three suspects then fled on foot into the greenspace. With the assistance of Air1, all parties were located and taken into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault and was treated at a local area hospital for his injuries. During a search of one of the suspects, officers seized a large knife and an airsoft gun. A 30-year-old male of no fixed address is charged with several offences including: Robbery with violence; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000.00; Disguise with Intent; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance; Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. A 19-year-old male of Scarborough is charged with several offences including: Robbery with Violence; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000.00; Disguise with Intent and Possess Weapons Dangerous to Public Peace x2. In Plano, Texas, 37-year-old Jake Bigoni has been charged with murdering his estranged wife, Eliana Alexandra Bigoni, 34, while their 2- and 5-year-old children were inside the apartment. According to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, Eliana was on her way to pick up the kids on the morning of August 12th when she was allegedly killed. APD announced that they arrested 112 people during a three-week, zero tolerance operation along the Central Avenue corridor. APD reported that their GANG unit, FAST unit, and their Narcotics units conducted a proactive operation with the assistance of Field Services Bureau Proactive Response Teams (PRT). During the operation, officers arrested 112 people, cleared 106 felony warrants and 38 misdemeanor warrants. The operation focused on out in the open (plain sight) drug use, drug trafficking, active warrants and maintained a high visibility presence along the Central Avenue corridor. During the operation, the narcotics unit focused on targeting drug trafficking along the east Central corridor. Detectives highlighted the arrest of Kyle Kamm for trafficking a controlled substance. Through the investigation, it was learned that Kamm was armed with a 9mm handgun during multiple drug transactions. This arrest resulted in the following: Approximately 500 fentanyl pills 9mm handgun Ammunition Drug trafficking paraphernalia Felony charges APD says that this specific case highlights the potential violence that can occur during drug transactions where a firearm is present. APD went on to say that there has been a decrease citywide in aggravated assaults and shootings, primarily through the Central Avenue Corridor. For the first time in recent years, the Southeast area command has seen a 9% decrease in aggravated assaults and shootings. During their operation, Southwest PRT also assisted in the apprehension of Charles Madrid, the suspect involved in the fatal stabbing that occurred this past week on a bus. As part of their ongoing efforts to combat violent crime along the Central corridor, APD implemented a second swing shift PRT team. It has been created specifically for the violent southeast area command. APD believes that their re-allocation of police resources and specialty units along Central Avenue during different times of the day, including evenings and nights, are a contributing factor to the decrease in violence and proactive results. APD says their operations will continue throughout the year along the Central Avenue corridor.
