It is very straightforward….Cork players had a choice…either try and puck it over the bar or try a short one and use up the clock….they chose the latter..time was up…the ref is not obliged to keep playing until a team scores or get into a scoring situation..time was up!!!!

The ref should inform if last puck of the match but "last play" is rubbish, he's saying you keep going till ball goes dead? Could be another 2 minutes, and what if a foul occurs then, allow that free?

I suppose they were expecting to get something like the 5 additional minutes at the end of the ten minute half they got last year to level up the game from the same ref. RTE explained that away last year even though it was blatant biase in corks favour.
