HOW TO GET RICH BY HERDING LIVESTOCK: 1. Move to a remote area with lots of free pasture. 2. Buy some cattle, sheep, and/or goats of an old and hardy breed. 3. Take your herd on grazing walks every day, feeding them at zero cost. 4. Watch your herd multiply and grow bigger year after year. The bigger it is, the faster it grows. Zero overheads. Everything you produce is pure profit. Keep it up until you've amassed a gigantic herd, and then grow it some more. The crucial part is selecting breeds that are suited to this kind of management. Breeds that have fantastic health and constitution; that require no shelter and live under the open sky all year long; that can graze through thick snow in the winter; and that have no need for vets, medications, or supplements of any kind. Look around the U.S. at how high school soccer is structured in states to help and protect kids. In Florida, high school games are only played during the week so student athletes can still compete in exposure club tournaments on the weekend if they choose to. In Texas, schools are limited to 2 games per week: One game Monday-Thursday and one Friday or Saturday. No back-to-backs are allowed. In Nebraska, the final week of the postseason schedule is: Monday → Friday → Monday. That’s what prioritizing student athlete health and safety actually looks like. Then there’s Illinois and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Until it was forced by a student athlete-led Illinois House Bill in spring of 2025, the IHSA owned and blocked student athletes from any outside event during the season. The IHSA has no health and safety limitation on the number of games that may be played in a week. The IHSA had schools playing FOUR of its final tournament games in FIVE days — including the possibility of 3 final games in 24 hours. Don’t believe me: Tuesday → Friday → Saturday (two). Now, it’s only one game on Saturday: Tuesday → Friday → Saturday…a mere 3 games in 120 hours. So let’s recap: Florida protects weekends to help kids have options. IOBM student body unites to demand justice for a fellow female student who was reportedly expelled for complaining about alleged harassment she faced as the University responded by accusing her of being disrespectful to the staff. Universities in Pakistan for most part believe that students can be isolated, picked out and bullied and as there are no student unions who would care. However, the IOBM student body proved the administration wrong which as per reports has now led to firing of the transport staff member against whom the student had originally complained. It has also been reported that the University is now reconsidering the expulsion of the Student. The student must be reinstated at the earliest and inquiry should be launched against her hasty expulsion and allegations of harassment. This is not the first time a University has decided to act against alleged victims and whistleblowers. In 2021 a male student was expelled by IBA for publicly reporting the harassment of a female staff member by senior male staff members. The expulsion led to student protests resulting in the reinstatement of the whistle blower following my committee inquiries which found the male staff members guilty of harassment. Instead of knee jerk reactions to first complaints and then retreating under protest Universities must ensure proper mechanisms and transparency giving confidence to students to come forward instead of putting them under fear or coercive actions against them. The inquiries will not only embolden students but would also give fair hearing to those accused of harassment. Unfortunately even the premier institutes who claim to have comprehensive anti harassment policies in place fail to implement the same when the need arises and even try to rig inquiry committees or create hurdles for them. In 2014 when a professor at LUMs was accused of sexual harassment the first reaction of the administration and fellow faculty was to rush his defence and the LUMS inquiry committee also exonerated him and it was only later before the Ombudsman that the professor was found guilty resulting in the professor getting fired. Whether it is incidents of harassment, lack of facilities on campus, lack of maintenance of amenities and transport, issues of examination and other disciplinary measures the conduct of university administrations repeatedly remind us of the need for actual functioning Students Unions and Student representation within the university's governing bodies.

UNLV starting QB Matthew Sluka just decided to redshirt the rest of the season because of an NIL dispute between him and his agent with the school. Both sides are pointing the finger at each other instead of pointing the thumb back at themselves. If you promise to pay a student athlete NIL money and get them to commit to your school, YOU SHOULD PAY THEM WHAT YOU PROMISED. If a student athlete agrees to a NIL deal and commits to play at a school, THEY SHOULD HONOR THAT AGREEMENT. THERE SHOULD BE NO in season renegotiating of NIL deals just because a player played a few good games or made a few splash plays against a rival. Renegotiate in the offseason. If UNLV didn’t pay Sluka what was agreed they are wrong and exploiting student athletes. If UNLV did pay Sluka what was agreed and Sluka wanted more after beating Houston, Kansas and positioning UNLV in prime position to make the College Football Playoff if they continue the path they are, then Sluka and his agent are wrong. Nevertheless, my advice for Matthew Sluka would be to reverse course and play out the rest of the season. Why? For his teammates. That brotherhood is worth it. The bonds built and excitement they have built together is worth it. You won’t get this opportunity to lead a team like UNLV to the CFP again. Go play young man and sue the university after the season whether you make the CFP or not if they didn’t pay you what was agreed upon.
