He’s not switching parties. He’s just refusing to lie — and that alone is enough to make him radioactive to the Democratic establishment. And it tells of how a married couple who are exactly be portrait of a liberal white couple living in Park Slope, Brooklyn. That you would expect wind up moving upstate and then are surrounded by Trumpers and they're petrified. But then when they get stuck in the snow, the Trump guy down the street doesn't hesitate to help dig the liberals out. The author, Larissa Phillips, says she slowly came to reject the political prejudice so common among my tribe and that it's hard to care where someone stands on politics when they race to your house to save a dying lamb. When their wife helped search for your runaway dogs and that she personally has been stunned by the depth of my neighbor's generosity. I get it that for the Democrats, this was a brutal loss. But the plan to deal with it has to be something better than stay in a snit and take advantage of this magical time of year to cut people off. But family isn't like gender. I mean, we're going to talk about the economy on the panel. I think he has for the economy. I don't see good things on the horizon. Steve [Stephen Moore] will just obviously argue with me about that. But Trump has what I call contagious confidence. He is so bullish and so confident. Well, he must know what he's doing, you know. And at some point, I think it falls away. But with the dogs and the cats thing, I think people, when we first heard it, were like, come on, man. They're eating the dogs? We know they're not eating the dogs. And yet he said it with such confidence that you can get by. Me: Yes, about that, even for people who knew that this was nonsense, in the past it was, if you blatantly lie, you've killed your credibility forever. You've at least got to pretend that you yourself think that you're telling the truth. It's not clear that he actually believed it. But just by making the truth whatever he says, and removing statements from the realm of things that you can fact check, you can verify, just if the charismatic leader says it, that's good enough. With this exchange, Trump achieved two things: 1 - Nullified Mamdani's 'star power' 2 - Prevented any future complains about Trump not helping him 'fix NYC' Number 1: Mamdani is so radical that some democrats won't touch him with a 10-foot pole. Obama didn't endorse him (But he DID endorse Karen Bass for Mayor back in the day), so you know that Mamdani is seen as almost radioactive with his 'democratic socialism' schtick. Mamdani essentially ran his campaign weaponizing Trump Derangement Syndrome on steroids (besides promising a lot of free stuff that we know won't work). We know that the weaponization of TDS is very effective, since Kamala Harris got a good chunk of votes that way. Many, many people in the US will vote for a lettuce if the lettuce could say that Trump is a fascist or a despot. So what happens when Mamdani appears next to Trump, both praising each other repeatedly? all the people who voted for their 'anti-Trump warrior' will feel like fools. I'm sure that Trump was extra charming in that private conversation and implied that after all, he's willing to 'help', which might have befuddled Mamdani. But the reality is that Mamdani needs that support from The Don, no matter what. So, upon a cordial exchange, a receptive Trump and maybe the 'promise' to sort things out together for NYC, Mamdani had no choice but to behave like he did in front of the cameras, including saying that both he and Trump agree on the end of wars and affordability of everything in NYC. So that's how his 'anti-Trump-warrior' persona gets demolished. And that persona is the one of the few things that, as a complete rookie in managing a city, would have given him some grace in the face of his constituents for any eventual management disasters. So on to Number 2: the possibility of blaming Trump for not helping him. That can't happen anymore. Trump said repeatedly that he congratulates Mamdani, that he wishes him well, that if he succeeds in making NYC as great as it has ever been he'll be the first one to cheer, and that his administration is going to be 100% supportive. Now, if Mamdani effz up, and he most likely will, how could he blame Trump after a meeting like this? Mamdani already gave an interview after this exchange, and upon being pressured about his 'despot' and 'fascist' remarks, he just said that his stances have not changed but doubled down on working on what they agree on about NYC. What Trump did with this exchange was defang Mamdani. Was it confusing for MAGA? you bet. But when you need to obliterate someone's persona in front of his voters, you do whatever it takes, because in the end those same voters will be the ones to judge the TDS-less Mamdani. In the end, as Scott Adams said, Trump skillfully made the story all about himself, while planting the seeds of doubts in Mamdani's fans.

The 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘴-𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦-𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳-𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦, 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴-𝘯𝘰𝘵-𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥-𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮-𝘵𝘩𝘦-𝘕𝘎𝘖-𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘵 Trump. Here is Maher’s inventory of Fetterman’s heresies, each of which would have been a career-ender in the Democratic Party of 2020: 𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫: Fetterman says wanting a secure border is not 𝘹𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘤 or 𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘵. A sitting Democratic United States Senator publicly flew the Star of David in the faces of his own party’s base. 𝐎𝐧 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: Fetterman says four words 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳, per Maher: “𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐤𝐞.” Translate that honestly. Maher just told his audience that the reason Republicans are nervous about 2028 is not a policy agenda. It is the possibility that 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐞. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞 Maher’s proposed running mate was former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and the reasons he gave are almost more revealing than the Fetterman case. Buttigieg 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬 a month ago. Stopped. Quietly scrubbed them. Maher flagged it on national television. Buttigieg’s own recent words, quoted by Maher: Democrats would do better “𝘪𝘧 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘶𝘱 𝘪𝘯 𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴”. That is a former Democratic presidential candidate publicly renouncing intersectional identity politics. In 2020 he would have been canceled for that sentence. The Democratic primary electorate — the activists, the donor class, the DSA wing, the 𝘚𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘥 caucus, the identity-studies faculty, the Planned Parenthood board, the teachers unions, the Working Families Party — will never nominate John Fetterman. They will not nominate anyone who waves an Israeli flag at his own base. They will not nominate anyone who says 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘬𝘦. They will not nominate anyone who agrees with Trump on the border. Maher knows this. Every Democrat in Washington knows this. The primary will eat any Fetterman-type candidate alive before the first snow falls in New Hampshire. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐞-𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐲 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐥𝐬𝐢 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲. The Democratic Party does not actually want to win. It wants to be right about race, gender, and climate. Those are not the same goal, and for twenty years the party has been choosing the second one. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐃𝐮𝐞 I have disagreed with Bill Maher on plenty. I still do. But on this one, he is telling the truth at volume about his own side, on his own network, to his own audience, and he knows the next three weeks of his DMs will be brutal. And not to mention, the billions and billions and billions of dollars that are going to foreign wars, which we want no pardon. I don't want people to die in war, man. It doesn't matter what side of the aisle you're on. Democrat, Republican, libertarian. We shouldn't want that. We should not want that. But people are dying on both sides. We should not fund these wars. But anyways, so a few days ago, I also made a video warning black people, you're gonna be replaced. You're gonna be replaced. And then a few days after I made that video, it was all over the news that Biden is gonna give mass amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, man. I'm telling you, the great replacement theory isn't a theory anymore. It's being put into full effect right in front of your eyes. They're gonna start the Democrats with the oldest sacrificial lamb in America, black Americans, our people. And so once they finish with black Americans, they're gonna turn to us, Latino Americans, if we don't sway allegiance. So I'm not a democrat anymore because I'm not buying their lies, their hypocrisy. They're saying that Biden created 15,000,000 new jobs. It's been proven. What Anthony Gardner, former US ambassador to the European Union, said on Trumps US National Security Strategy document is exactly what any sane person who isn't drinking the Trump-putin Kool-Aid has been screaming for years. That "strategy" document isn't just a misstep. It is a full-on betrayal, and Gardner nailed it when he called it an "act of treachery" and "obscene." Host: “And so, when you read the national security strategy document written by the White House, and especially its attitude to the place that you used to be based in Brussels and the European Union, do you think that this is, although using rather brazen language, a welcome wake-up call to the EU or an act of treachery from our closest friend?” Anthony Gardner: “It's an act of treachery from our closest friend. It's an obscene document, and it is contrary to 80 years of bipartisan US foreign policy. Okay, I stress bipartisan, because every one of my Republican predecessors in that job agreed—and I'll say 90%—on the proposition that it was in the US's best interest to have a strong, united Europe around the EU. That was true from the Treaty of Rome onwards. It is extraordinary. Host: “Someone pointed out it could have been written by the Kremlin, and it was certainly applauded officially by the Kremlin.” Gardner is not mincing words! Calling it "amateurish, ignorant, and a slap in the face" and stressing how this garbage flies in the face of 80 years of bipartisan US policy—that's the voice of an experienced diplomat telling the truth. It takes The White House is actively trying to help the European far-right undermine the EU. The most damning part is that it could have been "written by the Kremlin," and they literally applauded it. It's clear as day that the whole point of this new US policy is to cozy up to putin by tearing down America’s actual democratic allies. Trump's team is so desperate to please his authoritarian buddies that they've made an official policy of attacking Europe while giving Russia and China a total pass. I saw him appear in his news briefings to just kind of keep it straightforward like a businessman, and then I watched the news afterwards completely spun it out of control. They made it seem like he was saying things that I know he didn't say. It was bizarre to see in real time. I was watching to see who was pushing fear mongering, and it definitely wasn't coming from him. In fact, he was trying to push positivity, moving forward, and holding a better vision for where we were headed, which I felt was very much leadership ish of him. I saw him being straightforward, giving us exact plans and what we should do and what we should expect, and then I saw other people pushing projections, like, 18 months out that made absolutely no sense with no facts behind it. So I saw that one side was playing fear games and Trump wasn't on that side. But the news was heavy on he wasn't a trustworthy person, so I needed answers because this was all chaos and it didn't make any sense. But March 2020, I talked to a friend and he said that Trump was in there for a reason, and that's when everything clicked. I felt so much better about what was going on because the worst wasn't happening, it was actually something really good. There was something really big happening, and it was a complete change in our world. But because I watched too much TV, I allowed that fear mongering to get to me, and I actually did not like Trump for several years until I finally stopped and had to look and see what was really going on and ask some really logical questions. Only then was I able to see the truth when I was able to take my emotions out of the way. So for those people triggered by the word Trump, I get it. I was triggered too, and I I was only able to see the truth when I looked at him logically without anybody else's voice in my ear. Take another look at him because you're missing it. You're missing being alive during one of the greatest times in world history because power is returning to the people in the form of new technology that will shift our world entirely, and Trump is helping us get to the other side. In fact, he says several times, I'm returning power to you. He's going up against some really bad people and that's why we saw the events of Saturday when they tried to get rid of him.
