I’m the Watchman tonight. One of the duties is to ring the traditional Curfew bell, the oldest serving Curfew bell and alarm in the city of London. It’s rang at 21:00 every night to ensure that all the soldiers that are based here know they have 1 hour to return before the gates are locked. A tradition that dates back to the Duke of Wellington in 1826 💪🏼

“Extraordinary Eucharist Ministers” should be abolished. There is no need for this policy. It undermines the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. A priest’s hands are consecrated for the purposes of the administering the Sacraments. Priests are formed and trained in distributing Communion. There is no need to have Sue and Karen distributing our Lord like a snack dispenser. This does nothing for the implicit teaching of the Real Presence. The excuse of long lines is a faux par. Altar rails make things simple: people kneel with their mouths slightly open, tongue slightly out, and the priest moves down the rail blessing and administering the Sacrament. It takes no time at all. But even if it did, time is irrelevant during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is a moment when heaven and earth are joined together. We kneel for humility and reverence, but it also most efficient. This EMHC/EEM policy is sacrilegious and unnecessary. Redemptionis Sacramentum (2004) limits/restricts their use, but somehow they have become the norm in N.O. Parishes. Why does the Vatican not speak out on this?

These two guys were on their way to their fishing spot. They came to a stop sign at the same time as this bicyclist and blew through his stop sign and didn’t stop. When the men passed him they yelled at him for not stopping. So this guy followed them to their fishing spot. The two men exchange pleasantries and the guy on the bike tells them he never stops and they shouldn’t be yelling at him or anyone. The one man tells him he is just like everyone else and he has to obey the traffic laws. At one point the guy on the bike tells the two men he can take them both in a fight. The one man walks off to go fishing. 😳 The guy on the bike does not have the right of way. Bicyclists are like automobiles and must follow all traffic laws. It's a new day in America. Could it be in Alberta as well? In Alberta, Danielle Smith's government, to her credit, is amending the Alberta Bill of Rights. That’s a good thing. But it needs to be right. We have a moment in which to push things in the correct direction. Our job is to be precise, careful and diligent about making sure that the changes that we get are real, and that they work, and that they mean what we need them to mean.
