Playing pro basketball has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid. Being able to travel the world and get paid to play the past 5 years has truly been a remarkable experience. To get the opportunity to live in 7 countries, be immersed in different cultures, meet new people, and play basketball at a high level are memories I will always cherish. Since being back in the States in May, I have had a lot of time to reflect on what the next step is for me and my family. I got my Real Estate License in the summer with the intentions of just doing it in the off seasons, and then get into it full time when I was done playing. But when our daughter Rinnie was born in September, my mindset began to change. Having a family and being a father has always been a dream of mine too. And now that she is here, I look at life a lot differently. It has been amazing to be around family and friends and raise our daughter in our own home right here in our hometown in Illinois. On top of that, I have really been enjoying being a Real Estate Agent and adjusting to the new challenges that come along with it. I still love basketball, but I always knew there would come a time when I’d have to hang it up, and this feels like it for me. Being a father and a husband is the most important thing to me and that will always come first. Knowing that this is the best decision for us really gives me peace in walking away from a game that has been so good to me over my life. Thank you to basketball for giving me the life I had dreamed about since a child. Now, on to the next chapter of my life 👶🏼🏠🌾🇺🇸

Hou Hsiao-Hsien on the autobiographical nature of "A Time to Live and a Time to Die" (1985): "In 'A Time to Live and a Time to Die' (1985), I wanted to get back to a one-to-one relationship between filmmaker and subject, much as I had in 'The Sandwich Man' (1983). 60-70% of the film is drawn directly from my own memories, the rest from conversations with other members of my family and from research. Of course, the narrative isn’t structured in terms of chronological autobiography. The strongest structuring elements are the three deaths; beyond those, it’s structured in terms of memories and impressions. Both the family in the film and my own memories are essentially vehicles for the discussion with people of my generation of some things that should be discussed: the political and social predicament of those people in Taiwan who originally came from the Mainland. It’s something that simply hasn’t been talked about, least of all in films. After I had shot the film, but before I edited it, three images came together in my mind that helped me to rationalise what I was doing. First, a guy from Hong Kong told me how he used to make annual trips with his family to visit his old grandfather in Guangdong province. One year the grandfather took them all out to a mountain overlooking the sea. He clutched a compass in his hand and said: ‘This is where I want to be buried’. I somehow made a mental connection between this faintly absurd scene and the man who carries a magnet everywhere to prospect for precious metal in 'One Hundred Years of Solitude', which I was reading at the time. And then I made the association of both images with my grandma and her road back to the Mainland. It struck me that all three images combined something fundamentally real with something surreal or absurd. I’d never thought of things in terms of the coexistence of the real and the surreal before. For me, this was a kind of conceptual breakthrough. I suppose that many people in Taiwan must have thought that bringing up the question of our isolation from the Mainland was a touchy thing to do. It obviously is a delicate issue. But the very existence of the film proves that it needn’t be touchy, which strikes me as useful. I guess the authorities let me do it because my other films have shown that I try to be sincere and that I don’t have ulterior political motives." (Hou Hsiao-Hsien's interview with Tony Rayns, Film Buletin, 1988) P.S: On this day, 41 years ago, "A Time to Live and a Time to Die" (1985) was released in Taiwan.

Fast Company just published a great piece on World Labs , Fei-Fei Li , Marble, and the idea that spatial intelligence / world models may be one of the next big shifts in AI. I was happy to be quoted in the article, but I also wanted to share more context about my own experience with World Labs and Marble, and why this direction is especially interesting to me. My starting point: volumetric capture — For the past few years I’ve been exploring and using volumetric capture and reconstruction (photogrammetry, NeRFs, 3D Gaussian Splats) mostly capturing locations around Montreal. Alleys, museums, urban interiors. I love every step of it: the capture itself, the pipeline, and what can be done with the output. Turning real spaces into real-time explorable systems. I do this personally, sharing explorations here, and professionally as chief technologist, and co-founder of Dpt. Physical reality + generative manipulation — In my work I’m especially drawn to mixing physical reality with generative and digital manipulation: using physical interfaces (light, clay, ink, ... ) to drive generative AI pipelines, building mixed reality prototypes that reshape your surroundings, or starting from real captured spaces and transforming them using tools like Marble. Like many people, I saw the World Labs announcement on Twitter in September 2024, and Marble when it surfaced in early December. But by then, I already had a sense something was coming. The first conversation — As someone deep into volumetric capture and radiance fields, I obviously knew about Ben Mildenhall and his pioneering work on NeRF. To my surprise, Ben reached out to me in late June 2024. He’d been following some of my experiments and wanted to chat about my process and workflows and how I was using this “stuff” creatively. At that point he didn’t share what he was building, but we had a genuinely great conversation about radiance fields, AI, and my work. He was curious about the creative perspective, not just the technical one. When the World Labs announcement dropped a few months later, it all made sense. I understood what Ben had been working on, and why the creative angle mattered to them. Then in August 2025, he invited me to try the Marble beta, and I’ve been experimenting with it since. Experimenting with Marble — The first thing I used Marble for was materializing scene and world concepts during ideation at the studio, and seeing if and how it could fit into our production pipeline. In parallel, I dove into a series of experiments focused on world manipulation: starting from real captured spaces and transforming them using Marble. I’d already been exploring that idea using img2img diffusion with ControlNet on NeRF renders, real-time video streams, and even mixed reality using headset camera feeds. But Marble brings something different. It generates persistent, spatially cohesive 3D worlds that can be rendered in real time across a wide range of devices. That’s a real shift. Experiment 01: Parallel Realities — The first experiment, Parallel Realities, starts from a volumetric capture of a real location, reconstructed as 3D Gaussian Splats. Using Marble, I generate an alternate version of that same space, something informed by the original architecture: abandoned, nature-reclaimed, alternate era. Then, using Spark (World Labs’ 3D Gaussian Splatting renderer for THREE.js) I make both realities coexist in the same spatial coordinate system. From there, I use a portal UX mechanic to let the user step between the real reconstruction and the Marble-generated version. Experiment 02: Hidden Depth The second experiment, Hidden Depth, does not transform a space as much as expand it. A captured location has a visual boundary (a mural, a doorway, a dark corridor) and Marble generates what exists beyond it. For example: a Montreal alley has a painted mural; step through it and you’re inside a world informed by what is actually depicted there. World Labs showcased part of this work here: And in their Spark 2.0 post: The project page is here: Why this matters to me — Being able to start from a real 3D Gaussian Splat scene and manipulate it with Marble opens up a lot of ideas. The 3DGS pipeline is becoming an increasingly compelling foundation for exploration, experimentation, and storytelling. What matters most to me right now is more control. The more I can steer the generated scene or world, the more useful the tool becomes. I want more features like the already existing multiple input images and Chisel, the blockout-based approach. I would like better local control, the ability to expand a generated world more and more while preserving coherence, and the ability to directly import 3D Gaussian Splat scenes to be used as a starting point. I want more ways to shape the result, not just a “prompt and hope” approach. — It is exciting to see this field moving from research and demos toward actual creative workflows.

🦊 Hi everyone it’s Yeonjun! Today is finally the day I, having gone through the period as a trainee, officially become an artist as Yeonjun from TXT~ 🦊 It’s such a happy and meaningful day for me, I’ve been waiting for this moment for a really long time I started training and dancing when I was in my third year of middle school and since then I’ve been growing my dream of becoming a singer. I’ve just been running towards it and before I knew it, 5 years had passed ! And today, that dream finally came true. It’s a moment I’ve longed for so desperately, one I’ve really been waiting for 🦊 Earlier, while filming, I kept thinking back as I watched myself on camera, it made me remember all the times I trained, pushed myself, went through evaluations with the members, worked hard and the effort I put into improving.. all of it just flashed through my mind at once The memories all passed through my mind like frames in a film and in the middle of it, I felt a strong swell of emotions in my heart and in the end, I couldn’t hold it in and it just burst out It was such an emotional and happy day for me 🦊 The tears I’ve shed up until now were a mix of desperation and the desire to achieve my dream but today after such a long time, I finally shed tears of joy. It feels like such a memorable day for me, one I’ll remember for the rest of my life It’s been such a meaningful day and I hope I can keep seeing our fans for a long time I’ve really missed everyone so much, but now, thinking that we’ll be able to see each other often for a long time makes me so excited and happy 🦊 And I’m also really grateful, you’ve waited for us for so long and I hope we can repay you with good songs and performances Thank you, thank you so much!

This soldiering training is the most impressive and immersive I've ever tried. It is 10x better than a YouTube tutorial video. It really allowed me to see the procedure from all the points of view, and even get super close to get the details. It is a collaboration between @gracia_vr and Imperial College London: they recorded a soldering session with Gaussian Splatting Videos (4DGS), so that you can enjoy it from your VR headset. You can see the action happening in front of you; you can pause and re-watch what you need, change the point of view, get closer, get more distant. And the quality with which it has been shot is impressive: I enjoyed this experience with my DELL Pro Max Tower T2 with NVIDIA Pro RTX 6000, and I could really see all the small details of the PCB that was being soldered! I was really impressed by it. But I also noticed some drawbacks. First of all, some scenes have artifacts that make seeing the details of the PCB hard. I think when it comes to training involving small details, the capture and reproduction of the splat should be flawless. Then, as much as I loved it as a passive experience, I would have liked to have also some sort of practice session in VR. The power of VR is to let you learn by doing in full safety, and this kind of training does not exploit it. But maybe the best way to enjoy it would be in MR, where you have this training video close to a real workbench where you do the actual soldering while following the tutorial. Gaussian Splat can really revolutionize training: this kind of recording is much better than any flatscreen experience, and more accurate than any 3D CGI recostruction. I suggest you give it a go at this experience in the Gracia app (it's free). Then let me know your impressions! #VirtualReality #training #DellProPrecision #GaussianSplat #technology [Disclaimer: I'm a DELL Pro Precision Ambassador, and this is why I mentioned the model of my PC. I have been given a PC to do cool tests and share my results on social media. No monetary compensation or sales affiliation is part of the collaboration]

#リチャアヤ Happy Qixi! On this traditional Chinese festival, my friend and I have prepared this fan video, and we hope you enjoy it. BGM: ALONE to ALONE (feat. lasah)-sasakure.UK Illustrations: torimomo Video: Mist Since Mist-sensei's account ran into some issues, I'm relaying and attaching both of our creative notes here. Mist: The initial storyboards for this fan-made video were drawn by me, and I had been thinking about how to present it ever since the first season of the anime ended. The BD novel also gave me a lot of inspiration afterward. Before formally starting this project, I kept asking myself over and over: "Is my interpretation good enough?" "Will our understanding conflict with the original novel?" What changed my mind and gave me encouragement was precisely what Dumas said in the FGO×FSF collab—if your creation can bring people true joy and emotion, then even if it is "Fake," it still has value in existing. So, in a sense, wouldn't fan-made derivative works based on Narita-sensei's "Fake" original all count as "Fake of Fake"? In this year of 2026, I witnessed with my own eyes the novel I had followed for ten years finally receive an anime adaptation. I also came to know a warm and passionate community of fellow fans who speak different languages. And it is precisely because of this that I was able to meet torimomo-sensei and other friends. Sometimes I wonder—are these the friendships that could only bloom and bear fruit after ten years of waiting? And in the novel, Richard and Ayaka have likewise been by each other's side for ten years, and are now about to welcome the final chapter of their story. In my eyes, the two of them were once lonely children of the stars, but after a long passage of time, those two stars welcomed their Fate in Snowfield. No matter how many times I revisit their first meeting, it stirs in me much the same emotion. Allright! At that moment, I thought: "I've finally found the courage to take this first step into creating derivative works for Fake. Come on—now that my skills have matured enough, let me pour my heart and talent into them!" This is a fan work created together by torimomo-sensei and me, dedicated to Fate/strange Fake and to our beloved Richaya. Although it is likewise only "Fake," if this fan video can bring "True" emotions to friends who love Richaya—then, for me, that would be an incomparable honor. Torimomo: From first receiving the storyboards and drawing a few pages on and off, to finally mustering all my energy and drawing in earnest from the beginning of July—during this past month and a half, almost all of my thoughts, energy, and passion were poured into the illustrations for this PV. It was only partway through drawing that I realized, "Wait, it seems Mist's storyboards weren't meant to be fully colored after all..." (laughs). But since I had already come this far, and both the art style and rhythm had already become second nature, I decided to see it through to the end according to my own interpretation. I also changed quite a few of the storyboards along the way, and I am truly grateful to Mist for being so accepting of these modifications and creative liberties. To me, Richaya is a beam of light. I love the relationship between them, bound by the pull of fate; I love how they encourage and support each other; and I also love the perfect amount of negative space in Fate/strange Fake. It is precisely because of that negative space that different people can give rise to different imaginations and expectations—and that, in itself, is the greatest joy of derivative creation. I have so many imaginings of Richaya born from the wish that "they can be happy." Ever since I met Richaya this year, I have been drawing without pause. I don't hold back from pouring every image and story I can think of that suits them into my art. And it was precisely because of this that I was able to form a connection with Mist—through exchange after exchange of inspiration, each of us went on to create even more wonderful works about Richaya. This animated PV is one of them. For me, simply being able to see it through to the end was already more than enough to make me happy. And after Mist-sensei's post-production polish and editing, it ultimately came together as such a complete video. I'm truly satisfied. Lastly, thank you to everyone who was willing to take the time to watch this video through to the end.

When I saw the mask "Tribes of the Calf" from Kanbas I knew I had to make it into reality. The jewelry and gold really made it stand out for me. Since Sam Spratt's The Masquerade was revealed, I have been spending time sculpting and dissecting the mask to recreate it in 3D as faithfully as possible. I delved into the creation of this mask for many reasons. I love a good challenge and this mask surely was one for me. Creating something in 3D from a 2D image is not easy, and especially when the source has generative nature, some stuff is hard to interpret, but I tried my best to make sure the visual integrity of the mask is as close to the original as possible. Splitting the whole mask into parts, filling the missing pieces so I can build the textures was quite a lot of work. I tried to present the mask in my own style with a slightly different colorway to adapt to the mask itself. Please enjoy this short animation, and turn on sound🔊 This piece is my statement that I am here to stay. That I have a voice that often feels being lost in the void. That I have been creating and posting digital art for over 20 years now and will continue until I'm gone. I have a story to tell and I want to be heard. The space we have here is small, and is shrinking day by day. It doesn't have to be like that. We need to support each other and push ourselves and people here, otherwise we are all doomed. As Kanbas has put in their observation of the mask: "Inspirational. Emotional. Natural." This is what our space can be, and this is me making a statement with this homage. I will share a 4k still below as well as a short video showing the 3D GLB interactive model together with a yt link to the 4k video since compression here is pretty bad.

YUNHO'S BDAY MD IS GONNA BE A CAMERA 👀 🐶: Honestly, instead of trying to say it in a roundabout way...I released a camera as my birthday MD this time. 🐶: At one point, I used to carry a camera around, taking photos of people and different scenes. 🐶: And when I looked back at those memories later, it brought back the emotions I felt at that time. 🐶: So I thought, "it would be nice if ATINY could also capture their own happy moments and the feelings they had back then through this camera, just like I did" 🐶: I don’t have that many hobbies, but since that was one I really liked, I decided to make a cute, sentimental-style camera as part of my MD. 🐶: So I hope when ATINY sees it, you’ll take pretty photos, have fun like I do, and enjoy using it. 🐶: You can even take pictures of me with it, I’ll make sure to look good for you. 🐶: At concerts, or if you happen to see ATEEZ, or even just our photocards....capture those moments with it too. 🐶: And if you upload those photos, I’ll look at them and think, “Ah, this is how ATINY thinks of me,” “This is what ATINY might be feeling.” 🐶: For example, if you upload a photo of the ocean, I might think, “Maybe ATINY had a lot on their mind,” 🐶: “How were they feeling then?” 🐶: “Were they happy?” 🐶: I want to feel those emotions too through your photos. 🐶: That’s why I shared things like that before, and since ATINY did the same for me, I also want to experience those feelings from ATINY’s perspective...as if you were photographers. 🐶: So that’s why I released this as my birthday MD. 🐶: What do you think?~
