I spoke with CBC News Network’s Aarti Pole today about Alberta Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux crossing the floor to join the federal Liberal caucus today. I pointed out that Conservatives must be frustrated with their current direction, including: - the fact that the party received no bounce from their recent national Convention where they confirmed Pierre Poilievre’s leadership, and - the lack of consequences for Jamil Jivani’s freelancing, using Donald Trump and JD Vance’s talking points against Canadians at a very critical time. I also pointed out that there is a home for moderate Conservatives in a Mark Carney government.

The Carney move to get on a plane to go to England, was not unnoticed by the Trump administration. For lack of better words, they're really pissed. Historically, because United States is the country's largest trading partner, it's always been a situation, regardless of politics, that the incoming leadership would call or go to the White House first. The Liberal Party is in a little bit of chaos in terms of what to do with this. The polls are neck and neck. So, it's a very interesting situation. I don't agree with what Carney did. I think it was a mistake that could cost him dearly.

For those who don't understand it, Dave Smith just presented a perfect case study, and I want to break it down for everyone. Conservatives in British Columbia need to ensure we don't elect a compromised closet Liberal insider to be our next leader. We all witnessed how easily it is for candidates to get elected, then do the exact opposite of what they campaigned on. Meanwhile their former donors, volunteers & supporters all become discouraged and refuse to participate further in our democracy. Mark Carney is cutting backroom deals with elected officials all the time. Our democracy in Canada has never been more questionable. I will be supporting Kerry-Lynne Findlay and her calls for a strong Western alliance against Ottawa.
