Some people write America off. I wrote her a love letter. Every freedom we enjoy today was entrusted to us by generations of Americans who were willing to lay down their lives so that future generations could live free. They left behind families, dreams, and futures of their own so that ours could endure. May we prove worthy of their sacrifice. May we cherish this nation they defended. And may America, with God’s grace and the courage of her people, continue to shine for the next 250 years. Happy Birthday, America. I love you. 🇺🇸

This was one of the all time great Pope Francis moments: "If you do not love your country, I do not believe that you will be able to love Jesus and love God." The people cheering give me chills. "Love for one’s country is love for a mother, we call her “Mother Land”, because we are born here, and she teaches us, as every mother does, to walk, and she is entrusted to us so that she may survive for future generations. This is why I wanted to begin with this reference to the Mother, to our motherland. If you are not patriots – not isolationist patriots – real patriots, you are not going to achieve anything in life. May you love your land, young men and women."

Today, April 7th, we remember the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. 🇷🇼 With all my heart, I bow to honor the family members I never had the chance to meet. God is great for protecting our family from disappearing completely. 🙏 A very few survived to give us life and to give us your names. You will never be forgotten as long as we are here. 🕯️ In these times, as we remember the Tutsi who were killed because of who they were, I also remember the Hutu who died with them. I remember the Hutu who were killed with their families because of their political ideas, those who were killed because they hid the Tutsi, and those who were killed simply because they looked like Tutsi. May God give them a good place to rest. For those of us who believe, we hope to meet again. During these 100 days of remembering this terrible tragedy, I encourage my fellow youth to have a heart for humanity and love. We lost one of our most courageous warriors yesterday 💔 Anna was one of the first people I saw fearlessly standing on the front line. From her powerful presence outside Parliament and vaccination centres to countless other places, she faced the public and police with unwavering courage and conviction, inspiring so many of us to follow in her footsteps. Anna was one of my greatest inspirations and gave me the confidence to step into the lion’s den myself. I’ll never forget sitting with her on the grass after a march, confiding that I was just weeks away from filming the BBC “Unvaccinated” documentary. I was terrified, but she held my hand, reassured me, and said, “Everything will be fine because we are on the side of good.” While I was in that house, she called me every day, guided me, listened to me cry, and gave me strength. Her selflessness knew no bounds. I will forever remember her kindness, her bravery, and her remarkable strength. She will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life. My thoughts are with her children and the rest of her family. May God grant them the strength they need to endure this difficult time. There is a hole that can never be filled.
