Here's a documentary about how 12,000 Zimbabwean soldiers fought against apartheid South African commandos, CIA agents, their trainers, companies like Anglo America, and Western-sponsored RENAMO rebels for 10 years at a cost of over $1 million a day (equivalent to $3 million... a day today). This war is what forced Zimbabwe into ESAP, the Economic Structural Adjustment Program that began to deindustrialize Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe lost over US$13 billion (R234 billion) to liberate South Africa. All in all the whole of SADC lost over $100 billion to liberate SA. This history should be part of a decolonized African education system. Meanwhile Zimbabwean maize is produced by rural farmers who were oppressed for 100 years by white Zimbabwean farmers, our commercial farmers have no desire to grow maize because it is not financially lucrative. ZANUPF has done many terrible things, but it is important to acknowledge that there are certain good things it did too. One of them was allowing Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) to operate from Zimbabwe, pass through Zimbabwe, and even use the Zimbabwe National Army to move its weapons from Zambia to South Africa. I know you are basing your statement on a short video clip which occasionally circulates online, showing Robert Mugabe being interviewed by British television. In that interview, he was asked if he would allow South Africans to fight militarily from Zimbabwe, and he replied that South Africans would fight militarily in South Africa not Zimbabwe. Anyone with a bit of common sense would understand that Mugabe could never have gone on British television and publicly said that Zimbabwe was helping South Africans militarily to fight apartheid from Zimbabwean soil. It is like expecting O. R. Tambo to go on British or American television and expose the tactics used to fight the apartheid regime. That would not have been a smart thing to do. It simply requires a bit of emotional intelligence to understand that when watching that video clip. If you are not aware of the history, read about the number of bombings that took place in Zimbabwe — bombings carried out by the apartheid South African regime in retaliation for Zimbabwe’s support of the liberation struggle in South Africa. Even your own former president Thabo Mbeki spoke about how Zimbabwe helped South Africa militarily during that period. That said, this is not an excuse to justify illegal immigration simply because Zimbabwe helped South Africa during the struggle. Zimbabwe did the right thing at the time. I am one of those who have consistently said that I am opposed to illegal immigration because it is a crime. However, that does not give anyone the right to insult or abuse Africans particularly Zimbabweans who are living legally in South Africa and have committed no crime. There are South Africans living in Zimbabwe too. One of the biggest mining companies in Zimbabwe, Zimplats, is South African-owned through Impala Platinum Holdings Limited. The bulk of Impala Platinum Holdings Limited’s earnings and revenue come from Zimbabwe not South Africa. Those are the taxes that pay grants to South Africans, it takes a bit of reading to understanding the interconnectedness. It is therefore foolish to say you don’t want Zimbabweans who are living legally in South Africa to do so. It is crazy! There are many other South African companies operating in Zimbabwe, and even your former vice-president, DD, owns a mine in Zvishavane. It is healthy for South Africans to have conversations about issues affecting their country. It is also healthy to discuss illegal immigration — that is part of responsible citizenship. But when you start going after people like Peter Ndoro, who are in South Africa legally, and others who are even naturalised South Africans, it becomes clear that the issue is no longer about immigration. It is about targeting Africans — it is Afrophobia. There are many white Zimbabweans living in South Africa, some legally and some illegally, yet I have never heard anyone mention them. Instead, the focus is always on black Africans who are in South Africa legally and contributing to society. That is not about protecting borders or enforcing immigration laws — that is about self-hate, the internalised racism that drives some Africans to turn on their fellow Africans.

Watching this video of South African police beating up a motorist for getting in the way of a Blue Lights VIP convoy today reminded me of how Zimbabwe started collapsing into a heap of an undesirable State! It all started with citizens losing their rights like this with the application of violence, then it got worse. Would have loved to see South Africa’s exceptionalism become a reality, but sadly it wasn’t mean to be. Welcome to Africa! Thankfully there was NO Zimbabwean involved! This is sad, nobody should ever celebrate South Africa loosening its grip on constitutionalism because it can get worse in our little villages outside Africa!

This is how much this man hates South Africa and Africa. He lies that there is a white genocide in South Africa. He made this speech yesterday. He continues to lie that there is a genocide in South Africa. That is why I do not understand the African idiots who support this man. You have to be a big black African idiot to support Donald Trump. South Africa is the biggest economy in Africa. It has taken care of millions of Africans, giving them an opportunity to pursue their dreams and to feed their families. There are millions of Africans living in South Africa, and yet Donald Trump is trying to destroy that economy that helps many Africans to sustain a decent living. And yet there is a black African who supports this man and sees Trump as a hero. Trump is an idiot. I do not care about him. But I am astonished that there is a black African somewhere in Africa seeing Donald Trump as a hero, and yet the same Donald Trump is trying to destroy the biggest economy in Africa for no apparent legitimate reason. South Africa has done nothing wrong to America, nothing wrong to Donald Trump, and yet yesterday he made this shameless speech. This makes me absolutely angry, livid, to know that there is an African out there who supports this idiot. He is running his racist refugee programme. He has blocked all other black nationals from Africa from seeking asylum in America. That is fine. We do not care about America. But he is using his racist programme to try and destroy the very mainstay of African economics, because that is what South Africa is to Africans. But he is using his racist programme to try and destroy the very mainstay of African economics, because that is what South Africa is to Africans. Meanwhile, the World Bank reports that Africa received 19.8 billion, Ghana 3.0 billion, Uganda $1.49 billion. These remittances are not investments in South Africa. They are not building our roads, funding our schools, or creating jobs for our youth. They are extracted wealth earned here, sent home. And they are enough to build entire nations. Nigeria's $19.8 billion could fund universal healthcare. Zimbabwe's $3 billion could rebuild its education system. But instead, the money flows out, and the burden of housing, feeding, and healthcare for those who send it remains on South African taxpayers. Foreign nationals in South Africa often work in low-wage sectors, undercutting local workers, while sending the bulk of their earnings back home. The South Africa to Malawi corridor is among the most expensive in the region, with costs exceeding 17%. South Africa's migrants are paying an average of 19.4% to send $200 to Malawi, making it the costliest corridor in the region. Yet even at these prices, billions flow out. This is why we are called xenophobic. Not because we hate foreigners. Because we are being used. We are being bled dry. Our infrastructure crumbles while their economies grow on our backs. Today, Zimbabwe has over 100 political prisoners, some of whom have been severely tortured, which has delayed its readmission into the Commonwealth. Some of these individuals won’t feel safe and will leave Zimbabwe for South Africa once they are released from prison. So, fixing the inherent and deep rooted political problems is key to South Africa having no headaches about illegal immigration. When I shared this video last week of South African businessman Rob Hersov telling us what Trump is doing to South Africa now, many dismissed Hersov as a liar. His words have come to pass! Many are wondering why Trump chose aid cuts for South Africa rather than sanctions or tariffs. The people urging him on and falsely claiming that white South Africans are being persecuted by their government are white business owners and pressure groups. They know that sanctions or tariffs would hurt them, whereas cutting aid will supposedly harm poor black South Africans and the government. Luckily for South Africa, only 17% of its antiretroviral support comes from America, and it receives no other aid from there according to President Ramaphosa! It is time for African countries to wean themselves off Western donor aid. We do not need it; what we need is trade, especially among ourselves, and an end to corruption. Africa is a continent of roughly 1.5 billion people, as big as China, we need to focus on trade. We have been saying this for years, hopefully the leaders will now see some light! And to the Black South Africans who were cheering on Trump, they say you do not kick a man when he is down! In Zimbabwe, we have a saying: a dog’s puppies do not open their eyes on the same day.

It’s funny how some born-free South Africans make fun of Zimbabweans. They say we’re cowards and that we can’t fight dictatorship in our own country. They even claim they’re brave because they fought apartheid 🤣🤣 Yet most of these people never fought apartheid at all ,they were born during or after it. What they also ignore is that Zimbabwe played a significant role in supporting South Africa’s fight against apartheid. Thabo Mbeki himself spoke about how much assistance Zimbabwe gave during that struggle. The truth is simple: no civilian population can fight the state and win. South Africans are not better than Zimbabweans in any way, and they’re certainly not braver. They are just fortunate to have been born in a country with at least some level of democracy.The Marikana incident alone is enough proof that civilians can be as brave as they want, but the state will always overpower them. Zimbabwe is a country where citizens’ rights are not prioritised at all. Laws are designed to prevent demonstrations, and whenever people try to protest, the response is extreme force sometimes even live ammunition. Many lives have been lost because of this. Instead of laughing at each other, we should be helping one another find ways to hold these governments accountable. You may laugh at us, but your government, the ANC, is in bed with our government, ZANU-PF. Some of the problems South Africa is now facing exist because Zimbabwe is not in order and that is partly due to the close relationship between ANC and ZANU-PF. No sane Zimbabwean enjoys living in South Africa and being called names every day. People are there because of push factors, not choice. Before Zimbabwe's collapse after 2000, mainly due to leadership, governance and policy failures, the movement across the border was both ways, although the down south flow was heavier. People from the two countries worked and lived together in harmony for decades before the economic collapse north of the Limpopo River. The flow of labour has continued, particularly with the Zimbabwean crisis in the 2000s, leading to an influx of Zimbabwean migrants to South Africa, courtesy of the late former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and Zanu PF's misrule. This is what has led to millions of Zimbabwean migrating into South Africa, the regional economic powerhouse. The economies of the two countries have been closely intertwined historically and structurally, with a history of both cooperation and tension. Besides, Zimbabwe has always had deep political; economic, military, ideological, and cultural relations since the 19th century. There were massive movements or migration across current borders since the Mfecane period, then by colonial settlers and later ordinary people, creating a relationship of cooperation and conflictual tensions. The migration of Ndebele King Mzilikazi Khumalo and later Cecil John Rhodes from South Africa into Zimbabwe being historic highlights. Later, there were many other prominent examples, including those of Rhodesian ministers, judges, nationalists, businesspersons, sportspeople and ordinary citizens moving across the border. Now even celebrities. It was not one way. South Africans have a history of living and working in Zimbabwe, as long-term residents, including the Afrikaner community and those who moved as exiles during apartheid, and as temporary migrants seeking work opportunities. But more recently, millions of Zimbabweans moved to South Africa due economic hardship. When it was Rhodesia, Zimbabwe attracted South Africans from all walks of life, including politicians, businesspersons, professionals, sportspeople, and artists, among others. For instance, Chief Albert Luthuli, a prominent ANC leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner, was born in Solusi, near Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, although he has South African roots. The economies of the two countries have been closely intertwined historically and structurally, with a history of both cooperation and tension. Besides, Zimbabwe has always had deep political; economic, military, ideological, and cultural relations since the 19th century. There were massive movements or migration across current borders since the Mfecane period, then by colonial settlers and later ordinary people, creating a relationship of cooperation and conflictual tensions. The migration of Ndebele King Mzilikazi Khumalo and later Cecil John Rhodes from South Africa into Zimbabwe being historic highlights. Later, there were many other prominent examples, including those of Rhodesian ministers, judges, nationalists, businesspersons, sportspeople and ordinary citizens moving across the border. What we hear are groups outside the official channels who talk about different dates. I just want to be clear on that matter, that in our communication with the government of South Africa and in our work, we are working on the voluntary repatriation of all Zimbabweans who want to come home with the collaboration and cooperation of the South African government. The South African ruling party ANC - African National Congress Secretary General ANC SECRETARY GENERAL | Fikile Mbalula has called Zimbabwe’s main opposition leader Nelson Chamisa an American puppet. The South African Government has already picked a side, this is sad for a neighbor and the biggest economy on the region to do this. One can disagree with many things about Chamisa, but he is not an American puppet. South Africa should not choose who runs Zimbabwe. The fact that they have done so, it means they have also accepted the moral and financial responsibilities of looking after the economic consequences of that choice which comes with rigged elections. South Africa can’t choose to determine who runs our affairs and then refuse to look after our people when that choice turns into an economic disaster! At least his statement is important to the opposition because it now knows where South Africa stands in the Zimbabwean elections.
