The Mayor continues to prioritize special interest groups over the blue-collar, hardworking families of this City. This isn’t a social studies project on civics, although our Mayor leads us to believe it is. This budget and the major impacts it has and will continue to have for years are real-life issues that affect not just the communities in my ward but the entire City. I commend my colleagues, those who aren’t beholden to the Mayor and his special interest groups, who took the time to put aside differences for the good of the City and voted NO on this budget. Our coalition of common-sense leaders wasn’t about "what’s in it for my community," but rather, "what’s in the best interest of the taxpayers of the City of Chicago?" The 2025 Budget vote will surely have lasting consequences. I want residents of the 15th Ward and the City of Chicago to know that I fought and will continue to fight for what is in your best interest, the taxpayer!

I didn’t think I’d have to say this, but here we are. I care that my Mayor is Black. We live in a time when our history is literally being erased from the books, yet some of us still act like race doesn’t matter. Let’s stop fooling ourselves. Is everybody racist? No. But those who aren’t prove it through their actions and their votes. They are attempting to understand where I’m coming from—they don’t know, but they’re willing to listen. Here’s what you need to know: Mayor Broome has given more contracts to Black businesses than any other mayor in the 200-year history of this city. And trust me, I’m not one for blind loyalty—I’ve challenged the mayor before. But in this race, nobody is offering a better vision or results for Baton Rouge than her. For me, it’s personal. My child deserves to grow up with the pride of seeing a mayor who looks like her. A mayor who comes from the same side of town she does. That kind of representation changes how our kids see themselves—it creates a future they can believe in. Let’s remember: Baton Rouge has had 64 mayors. Only 2 of them have been Black. Knowing our history gives us the perspective to understand why this moment matters so much. To young Black people in this city: this is our time. Our time to stand in our power and move this city’s leadership forward. I’m committed to holding Mayor Broome accountable, making sure she delivers for our community. But let me be clear: a man who skipped voting in 25 elections until his name was on the ballot will never get my vote. #KeepOurMayorBlack Because we deserve leadership that knows our history and fights for our future.

This morning, I was at British Steel in #Scunthorpe. Both Labour and Conservatives have ruined our manufacturing industries with their net-zero madness, and this has negatively impacted business like this. We need to support British industries. If elected as your Mayor, I will champion all the great industries across the county and hold an annual Great #Lincolnshire Exhibition. This will showcase the talent and goods and services that we have. I also have a plan to push for inward investment.

46 million working Americans don’t have a 401k plan, pension plan or other savings plan for their retirement. Tonight, President Donald J. Trump announced that he was going to create a savings plan that will model that of the Thrift Savings Plan for government employees. Let’s call it the Trump Savings Plan. The Trump Savings Plan will allow workers without a savings plan to put aside a portion of their income every year with a Federal match of $1,000 — with the potential for the match to increase with congressional approval — that will be invested in the stock market and will grow tax free until their retirement. We need every working American to own a piece of capitalism so that while they sleep, they can save for their retirement and the next generation. And importantly, the program pays for itself even with a 5% government match, as the participants retire with the resources they need, and are no longer reliant on welfare programs and are not a future burden to the welfare system. I predict that increasing the government match for the Trump Savings Plan will be one of the few bipartisan pieces of legislation approved by Congress next year for how can a member of Congress vote against giving every working American the same savings plan that they have? This is an amazing initiative for our country. Thank you President Trump for your leadership!

And when Westminster walked away from us, when we were struggling as a deindustrialized city region, it was the people in this place that began the journey to rebuild." "And people often ask me, what is it that I feel makes Greater Manchester so special? And it's our people and our communities.
