There is an assault on American history going on: - Banning books - Sanctioning teachers for teaching history - Scrubbing text books and web sites and more of mentions of our complex and incredible history - Dictating to Universities the curriculum they can teach And so much more. This cheapens American history. It is an assault on our difficult yet incredible story - how we worked together to overcome some of the dark challenges of human failings through the incredible light of human triumph. We must fight against this assault on our great American story. We must tell our full truth and ensure we learn the hard invaluable lessons it teaches lest we repeat painful, costly mistakes again.
