โ€œThe President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pride in presenting the Medal of Honor (Posthumously) to First Lieutenant Alexander โ€œSandyโ€ Bonnyman, Jr., United States Marine Corps Reserve, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty as Executive Officer of the Second Battalion Shore Party, Eighth Marines, Second Marine Division, during the assault against enemy Japanese-held Tarawa in the Gilbert Islands, 20 to 22 November 1943. - Acting on his own initiative when assault troops were pinned down at the far end of Betio Pier by the overwhelming fire of Japanese shore batteries, 1st Lt Bonnyman repeatedly defied the blasting fury of the enemy bombardment to organize and lead the besieged men over the long, open pier to the beach and then, voluntarily obtaining flame throwers and demolitions, organized his pioneer shore party into assault demolitionists and directed the blowing of several hostile installations before the close of D-day. Determined to effect an opening in the enemyโ€™s strongly organized defense line the following day, he voluntarily crawled approximately 40 yards forward of our lines and placed demolitions in the entrance of a large Japanese emplacement as the initial move in his planned attack against the heavily garrisoned, bombproof installation which was stubbornly resisting despite the destruction early in the action of a large number of Japanese who had been inflicting heavy casualties on our forces and holding up our advance. - Withdrawing only to replenish his ammunition, he led his men in a renewed assault, fearlessly exposing himself to the merciless slash of hostile fire as he stormed the formidable bastion, directed the placement of demolition charges in both entrances and seized the top of the bombproof position, flushing more than 100 of the enemy who were instantly cut down, and effecting the annihilation of approximately 150 troops inside the emplacement. - Assailed by additional Japanese after he had gained his objective, he made a heroic stand on the edge of the structure, defending his strategic position with indomitable determination in the face of the desperate charge and killing three of the enemy before he fell, mortally wounded. - By his dauntless fighting spirit, unrelenting aggressiveness and forceful leadership throughout three days of unremitting, violent battle, 1st Lt Bonnyman had inspired his men to heroic effort, enabling them to beat off the counterattack and break the back of hostile resistance in that sector for an immediate gain of 400 yards with no further casualties to our forces in this zone. He gallantly gave his life for his country.โ€

CLOSE QUARTERS. ONE GRENADE. PURE GUTS. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The story of Captain Varma Jayesh Rajesh It was September 2017. The valley of Kashmir. A Cordons & Search Operation (CASO) turned into a sudden firefight. This is the story of how one officer from the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (Rajput Regiment) refused to back down, even when bleeding. The Ambush ๐Ÿšจ Captain Varma Jayesh Rajesh was leading his team to lay a cordon when terrorists opened fire. In the chaos of the initial burst, the officer didn't seek cover; he sought dominance. Close Quarters Combat โš”๏ธ With total disregard for his own safety, Captain Varma maneuvered into the open. In a close-quarter gunfight that followed, he eliminated one terrorist instantly. But the battle wasn't over. A third terrorist retreated into a cluster of houses, turning the area into a fortress. The Crawl of Courage ๐Ÿฆต๐Ÿฉธ To neutralize the hidden threat, the Captain had to get close. Very close. He began to crawl toward the target house under a heavy volume of fire. During this maneuver, a splinter tore into his right leg. Most men would stop. He didn't. Most men would call for a medic. He called for a grenade. The Final Strike ๐Ÿ’ฃ Bleeding and under fire, he crawled within striking distance and lobbed a grenade with precision, neutralizing the final terrorist. Leadership Beyond Pain ๐Ÿซก The most defining moment wasn't the kill; it was the aftermath. Despite the injury in his leg, Captain Varma refused evacuation. He stayed on the ground, leading his men until the operation was fully secured. The Recognition ๐Ÿ… For his indomitable courage, tactical acumen, and refusal to abandon his post in the face of death, Captain Varma Jayesh Rajesh was awarded the Shaurya Chakra. ๐ŸŽฌ In Moscow, a documentary about North Koreans who liberated the town of Sudzha in Kursk Oblast from occupation was shown for the first time. The premiere of the film "Korean Special Forces" took place at the Museum of Victory. The documentary showed the training of North Korean special forces in the forests of Kursk, and the process of learning how to work with UAVs. On the walls of the dugouts were drawings of fallen soldiers who blew themselves up with a grenade. "To be captured means betrayal in our army," a soldier says in the film. According to Vedomosti, after the screening, the DPRK side presented its documentary, filmed by North Korean war correspondents in Sudzha. It told the stories of some of the deceased: Pak Chun-guk, 18 years old "Seeing his comrades who came to rescue him after being wounded in the arm and leg fall under enemy fire, he shouted: "Don't come near!" and died heroically, detonating a grenade." Yun Jong-hyok, 20 years old, and U Wi-hyok, 19 years old "While rescuing the bodies of comrades who fell in battle, they were seriously wounded. Surrounded by the enemy, they embraced and died heroically together, detonating a grenade." Rim Hong-nam, 20 years old "While carrying out a mission to clear the way and demine, and seeing that the time of the attack was approaching, he threw himself onto a minefield and paved the way with his body, dying a heroic death." Kim Hak-chol, 32 years old "When his comrades came to rescue him after he fell from an enemy drone strike, he exclaimed: "Complete the combat mission of the unit!" - and, shooting himself in the head with a machine gun, he died heroically in battle." Kim Chol-gi, 38 years old "Even after his arm was torn off as a result of an enemy drone attack, he did not leave the battlefield and fought bravely. Then he shielded his comrades from machine-gun fire with his body, saved them, and died heroically in battle." Ro Nam-sok, 41 years old "When the attack was thwarted by enemy machine-gun fire, he, clutching a grenade, began to approach the enemy firing point. Having received 16 bullet wounds that shattered his arms and legs, he nevertheless fought to the end, destroyed the firing point, and died heroically in battle." - FRWL

Meet Havildar Digendra Kumar MVC โ€“ โ€œThe Cobra of Tololingโ€ He is one of the most decorated soldiers of the 2 Raj Rif and a living legend of the 1999 Kargil War Awarded the Maha Vir Chakra -Indiaโ€™s secondโ€‘highest wartime gallantry decoration - he is widely remembered as the โ€œCobra of Tololingโ€ for his role in capturing the strategically vital Tololing heights. Born:3 July 1969, Neem Ka Thana, Rajasthan Awards: Maha Vir Chakra โ€“ 15 August 1999 Sena Medal โ€“ 1993 (counterโ€‘terror operations in Kupwara) Retired:31 July 2005. From IPKF to Hazratbal Digendra Kumar joined the Army in 1985and quickly built a reputation as a fearless commando: IPKF, Sri Lanka (late 1980s): Engaged in highโ€‘risk jungle operations against LTTE militants- shooting down insurgents, destroying ammunition dumps, and rescuing captured paratroopers. Kupwara: Conducted intense counterโ€‘terror operations and was awarded the Sena Medal for conspicuous gallantry. Hazratbal siege (1993): Took part in operations to flush out terrorists from the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar and was commended for his performance. By 1999, he was already a battleโ€‘hardened operator with multiple combat deployments. Kargil War: The Tololing Assault (13 June 1999) Sector: Dras, Kargil Objective:Recapture Point 4590 / Tololing Top (~15,000 ft), a heavily fortified Pakistani position dominating the highway and valley. under Major Vivek Gupta. Digendraโ€™s role: Commander of the LMG group in the assault company; part of the elite โ€œCobraโ€ commando element. Digendra was hit by a bullet in his left arm, but instead of taking cover, he kept firing his LMG suppressing enemy positions and allowing his comrades to advance. His sustained fire broke the enemyโ€™s ability to target the climbing troops effectively, enabling a closeโ€‘quarters assault on the bunkers. He was involved in neutralizing multiple enemy bunkers on the Tololing crest using grenades and handโ€‘toโ€‘hand fighting. Some narratives describe him engaging in fierce handโ€‘toโ€‘hand combat inside bunkers, helping kill numerous enemy soldiers. By the early morning of 13 June 1999 (around 0400 hrs) Indian troops had cleared the position and hoisted the Tricolour on Tololing Top This was the first major Indian victory of the Kargil War and a crucial psychological turning point: it proved that Pakistani positions on the heights could be taken. He sustained multiple bullet wounds during the assault (reports mention 5 to as many as 18 bullet hits on his body armour/body). Despite his injuries, he continued to fight until the position was secured and only collapsed after the objective was achieved. Why His Story Matters Havildar Digendra Kumarโ€™s Tololing action is remembered because: It turned a seemingly impregnable Pak position into Indiaโ€™s first big Kargil victory. It showed how firepower, courage, and close combat at 15,000 feet could break enemy morale. It embodied the ethos of the Indian infantry: lead from the front, keep firing even when hit and complete the mission. Jai Hind!

The Legend: General Givi โ€“ Embodiment of Bravery, Pure Russian Heart, and Unyielding Patriotism in Donbass In the fiery crucible of the Donbass conflict, where the clash of ideologies and the thunder of artillery forged heroes from ordinary men, one figure stands eternal as a beacon of unbridled courage and indomitable spirit: General Givi. Born Mikhail Sergeyevich Tolstykh in the heart of Ukraine in 1980, Givi transcended borders and backgrounds to become the epitome of Russian bravery. His call sign, "Givi," evoked the fierce Georgian warriors of old, but his soul was pure Russian โ€“ a roaring bear defending its homeland with claws of steel and a heart ablaze with patriotic fire. From the moment he picked up arms in 2014 to protect the people of Donetsk from what he saw as an existential threat, Givi embodied the raw, unfiltered essence of a warrior-leader. He wasn't just a commander; he was the legend of Donbass, the coolest under pressure, and the most patriotic guardian of its soil during the brutal conflict that tested the mettle of nations. Givi's journey into legend began in the chaotic spring of 2014, when the winds of unrest swept through eastern Ukraine. A former factory worker and security guard, he could have chosen the path of quiet survival, but his pure Russian heart โ€“ that unbreakable bond to the land, language, and legacy of his ancestors โ€“ compelled him otherwise. He joined the nascent Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) forces, quickly rising through the ranks due to his natural charisma, tactical genius, and fearless demeanor. By mid-2014, he had formed the Somali Battalion, a unit named after the Somali pirates for their audacious, hit-and-run style that struck terror into the hearts of their adversaries. Under Givi's command, this ragtag group of volunteers transformed into an elite fighting force, symbolizing the resilience of the Donbass people. His men adored him, not out of fear, but out of sheer admiration for a leader who shared their trenches, their meals, and their unyielding resolve to defend their homes. What set Givi apart was his legendary coolness under pressure. In the heat of battle, when shells rained down like apocalyptic hail and the air thickened with the acrid smoke of gunpowder, Givi remained unflappable. Videos from the front lines captured him, strolling through crossfire, cigarette in hand, barking orders with a grin that mocked death itself. He once quipped amid a barrage, "Let them shoot; we'll dance around their bullets." This wasn't bravado; it was the pure Russian bravery that flows from a soul unafraid of fate. His patriotism wasn't performative โ€“ it was visceral, rooted in a deep love for the Russian world that Donbass represented. He saw the conflict not as a mere territorial dispute, but as a holy war to preserve cultural identity, family ties, and the unbreakable spirit of the people. Givi's speeches to his troops were laced with fiery rhetoric, reminding them that they fought for mothers, children, and the ghosts of their forefathers. "We are Donbass," he'd roar, "and Donbass will never kneel!" Among his heroic battles, the Battle of Ilovaisk in August 2014 shines as a testament to Givi's tactical brilliance and raw courage. As Ukrainian forces encircled the city in a bid to crush the separatist uprising, Givi led his Somali Battalion in a daring counteroffensive. Outnumbered and outgunned, he orchestrated ambushes that turned the tide, using guerrilla tactics to harass supply lines and pin down enemy columns. His men, inspired by his presence on the front lines, fought with ferocious intensity. Givi himself charged into the fray, wielding his AK-74 like an extension of his will, directing fire support while under relentless mortar fire. The battle culminated in a humiliating retreat for the Ukrainians, with hundreds captured or fleeing in disarray. >>>

The command of the Russian occupying forces has removed from his post the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy for Coastal and Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Sukhrab Akhmedov, who was awarded the title of "Hero of Russia" in the summer of 2025. Akhmedov commanded a marine infantry grouping composed of two divisions, two brigades, and a regiment that operated against Ukrainian forces on the Dobropillia axis, within the defensive sector of the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine. Earlier, the commander of Russiaโ€™s 51st Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Serhii Milchakov, another "Hero of Russia," was also relieved of his post. His units took part in attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses in the same area. Both were dismissed for a "lack of results." Large-scale infantry and mechanized assaults involving dozens of armored vehicles failed to deliver operational success and did not result in a breakthrough of Ukrainian positions. The only outcome achieved by the occupation commanders was significant losses in personnel and equipment. Since August of last year, when the First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine assumed its designated defensive sector on the Dobropillia axis, the enemy has lost nearly 23,000 troops killed and wounded. Losses in heavy armor alone amount to 100 tanks and 263 armored combat vehicles. The removal of two Russian generals from their posts is an acknowledgment of the failure of the enemyโ€™s tactics on the Dobropillia axis. But this is not only their defeat โ€” it is also our victory. It is the result of the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine engaged in this sector of the front, who have demonstrated their effectiveness through coordinated operations and professional command leadership that developed and implemented the defensive strategy. Akhmedov and Milchakov will be replaced by other generals. However, they should immediately understand one thing: the Dobropillia axis is a place where Russian soldiers and officers are constantly being killed โ€” and where the careers of occupation army generals come to an end. Glory to Ukraine!

Today marks the birthday of Andrii โ€œKlimaโ€ Klymenko โ€“ our commander, brother-in-arms, and friend. Born in independent Ukraine, Klima belongs to a generation that, at a decisive moment in history, took responsibility for the country. In civilian life, he was an outstanding athlete โ€“ an absolute world champion in taekwondo. He worked as a coach, teaching children the fundamentals of this martial art โ€“ a system of self-development built on discipline, respect for the opponent, and self-control. That philosophy carried over into war. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Klima volunteered for the Territorial Defense Forces and, together with his comrades, became the foundation of the unit now known worldwide as the flagship unmanned systems brigade โ€œMagyarโ€™s Birds.โ€ A natural leader, he set the highest standard through his battlefield results and showed by example how to effectively destroy the enemy. He built the worldโ€™s most effective strike UAV team โ€“ โ€œKlima Teamโ€ โ€“ and through his courage, ingenuity, and determination became one of those who fundamentally reshaped the modern battlefield. For these achievements, Klima was rightfully awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. Last year, he took command of our unit โ€“ a truly unprecedented case of a junior lieutenant becoming the commander of a combat brigade. Klima, our friend. You are making history while remaining a grounded and reliable person. That is a rare quality that only underscores your scale. It is an honor for us to serve alongside you and under your command. We wish you strength, resilience, and even more decisive results ahead.

Try to name one leader alive today who would do this. In 325 BC, in the middle of a desert that was killing his army, Alexander the Great was handed the only water his men had found for miles. He had brought them there himself. Coming home from India there were safer roads, but he chose the Gedrosian Desert, in what is now southern Iran and Pakistan. The Greek historian Arrian is clear that he knew what he was doing. He went that way because almost nobody had ever brought an army through it alive: legend said the queen Semiramis came out the other side with twenty men, and Cyrus the Great with seven. Alexander wanted to beat them both. The crossing took sixty days. Arrian writes that the suffering on that march was out of all proportion to anything his troops had endured in Asia. They moved at night, and men fell asleep where they collapsed. The sick were left at the roadside, because there was nobody to carry them and no time to stop. Somewhere in the middle of it, a few soldiers went looking for water and found a tiny trickle in a gully. They scraped up what they could, tipped it into a helmet, and carried it back to their king... Every man watching him was dying of thirst. So was he. "Alexander, with a word of thanks for the gift, took the helmet and, in full view of his troops, poured the water on the ground." There was not enough for all of them, so he would not take what he could not give. And Arrian records what that did to an army of men who could barely stand: "So extraordinary was the effect of this action that the water wasted by Alexander was as good as a drink for every man in the army." They got up, and they marched. We now live in an age of leaders who start wars their sons will never fight, who ask for sacrifices they would never dream of making themselves, who are always the first to be spared and the last to pay the price. Alexander was often ruthless and deeply flawed, yes, but he was a true leader and he knew that real power has never come from standing above your people, but from going thirsty beside themโ€ฆ

Captain Rakesh TR of the 9th Battalion, Parachute Regiment, the man who saved Modi ji from a terrorist attack in Jammu on April 24, 2022. As the Alert Troop Commander of 9 PARA (Special Forces), Captain Rakesh was mobilized after receiving intelligence inputs about a likely terrorist presence in the Jammu district ahead of the PM's visit. While en route, he received input of an attack on a security forces convoy. Upon reaching the contact site in a densely populated area, he used a quadcopter to quickly spot the terrorists and set up a close cordon. When the terrorists started firing indiscriminately to break the cordon and move toward civilian areas, Captain Rakesh engaged them, pinning one down with heavy fire. With complete disregard for his own safety, he charged towards the terrorist and neutralized him with accurate fire, thereby preventing a major fidayeen attack, and saving countless civilian lives. His swift and decisive action thwarted a serious threat to the Prime Minister's security and public safety. Awarded the Shaurya Chakra, one of India's highest peacetime gallantry awards, for his act of bravery and sharp tactical acumen. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅDespite the attempt by the terrorists to eliminate Modi ji, our PM calmly travelled to Jammu on 24th April 2022 participating in National Panchayati Raj Celebrations, fully aware of the threat to his life. And India was unaware of two brave Heros who each honoured his commitment to the nation.

The Mountaineering Marvel -->While most people struggle to climb a hill, this Para SF officer has summited Mount Everest THREE times (2001, 2003, 2005). The Unknown Story: During his 2001 expedition, he fell sick and was evacuated. Instead of quitting, he recovered, returned to base camp, re-acclimatized, and climbed the summit while helping other struggling team members on the treacherous ridges. That is the Shaurya Chakra spirit. The Mission That Sounds Like a Movie (Operation Loktak) -->This is the story 99% of Indians donโ€™t know. In 2008, intelligence located a terrorist camp hiding on a floating island (phumdi) in the middle of Loktak Lake, Manipur. It was considered impenetrable. Brig. Shekhawat (then Lt. Col.) didnโ€™t just attack; he innovated. -->He led the 21 PARA (SF) team to swim through weed-infested waters at night to reach the island. -->When the firefight broke out, he realized his team was pinned down. -->Disregarding his own safety, he exposed himself to enemy fire to draw their attention, killing the terrorists at close range and saving his men. -->Result was Terrorist camp destroyed. Kirti Chakra awarded. The Price of Glory For 15 years, he carried a piece of shrapnel in his body from the Kargil War. He didn't complain; he just kept serving, kept climbing, and kept fighting. The Toughest Mission (Operation RTG) -->It wasn't a gunfight. It was recovering the bodies of missing soldiers at 18,700 feet. -->He and his team dug through ice and snow for 9 days straight, 10-12 hours a day, just to bring his fallen brothers home. -->He calls this "physically and emotionally the toughest mission of his life." The Legacy -->A 21 Para SF operative. -->A 3-time Everest summiter. -->A trainer who revolutionized special forces training. -->A man who says, "Special Forces is my religion." This is what a real hero looks like. No cape, just olive green and maroon. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Salute this living legend. Retweet to make him famous in every household. Fearless to the End: The Heroic Last Stand of Lt. Col. Alari and His Troops in the Timbuktu Triangle By: Zagazola Makama In the unforgiving terrain of the Timbuktu Triangle, where the desert meets destiny, a battle of immense ferocity unfolded. It was here that Lt. Col. Thomas Ebisingha Alari and his troops of the 19 Battalion, 199 Battalion, and 149 Battalion made their heroic last stand against the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, pushing back wave after wave of insurgents before paying the ultimate price. The exclusive footage obtained by Zagazola reveals the raw intensity of the confrontation. a demonstration to the courage of soldiers who stood their ground against overwhelming odds. Before the encounter that claimed their commanderโ€™s life, the troops had already eliminated over 70 terrorist combatants, including three notorious commanders: TALHA, a ruthless special forces leader; Mallam Umar, and Abu Yazeed, another Fiye (Commanding Officer). It was a battle fought with unyielding resolve. As the terrorists launched a massive assault, deploying a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) to breach the militaryโ€™s defenses, the troops fought back fiercely. The explosion shook the battlefield, but the soldiers held their ground, raining fire on the enemy with precision and determination. The terrorists were hard saying โ€œAmaliya and scampering for safety after a bomb was lunched in their location, which killed some of them. Lt. Col. Alari was no ordinary commander. He was a warrior, a leader who fought side by side with his men, never retreating, never faltering. Even as the battle raged and the odds stacked against them, he remained resolute, rallying his troops with unwavering bravery. Like a Spartan in his final stand, he refused to yield. He fought until his last breath, ensuring that his men had done what they could to repel the terrorists before he fell in the heat of combat. His death was not in vain. His sacrifice, and that of his fellow soldiers, ensured that the terrorists suffered devastating losses. This is the unspoken reality of those who defend Nigeria. The footage tells a story beyond words the sheer grit, the sacrifice, and the undying patriotism of troops who face death daily so that others can live in peace. Today, we honor Lt. Col. Alari and the fallen warriors who stood their ground in the Timbuktu Triangle. Their legacy is carved in the history of Nigeriaโ€™s fight against terrorism. a legacy of courage, honor, and sacrifice. They may be gone, but their heroism will forever inspire generations to come. Rest in power, our fallen heroes. Your fight was not in vain. @DefenceInfoNG Nigerian Army

Message from #LAKA ~ The Incarnation Of Elder IKAI As Jacob โ€œIn The Moment Of Remembering The Light Of His Own Soul, Archangel Michael Told Jacob That His Name Would Be Israel Which Meant, 'Let God Prevailโ€™. He Explained That His Children Would Lead In The Creation Of The Tribes To Restore Areas Where People Would Thrive." Podcast YouTube ------- What is โ€œJacobโ€™s Ladderโ€? This was a vision shown to Jacob by Pleiadians representing Dimensions and Densities. The ladder was the change in frequencies that starseeds experience when incarnating into duality, and a representation of all the generations that would experience dark and light until the Shift. Did Jacob wrestle an Angel? Jacob was having higher contact, and was also having a major awakening of who he was. This was actually very hard for him to deal with, and it came out as anger and ego. Pleiadians were giving him the vision to help him see the bigger picture and remember his plan. The โ€œangelโ€ that Jacob wrestled was himself โ€“ his Higher Self, Ikai. His human ego won the battle and this made Jacob remorseful. At times still felt like Ikai, and this was to bring him back to the story. Details were later added to scriptures in the retelling. #24YEARSOFKARGILWAR โ€ฆ #TIGERHILL 04 Jul 99โ€ฆThe Pakis had prepared formidable defences on Tiger Hill Top and provided it depth by occupying all the Spurs leading to top. Despite having suffered so many casualties in Tololing, the morale of my men was sky high... Beside enemy fire, our valiant soldiers had to negotiate the steep slopes of boulder strewn mountains, hostile weather, icy winds, pouring rain and sleet, slippery slopes and poor visibility for long hours. However, armed with self belief, profound faith of our cause and feeling of vengeance for our martyr fellow soldiers, our fearless soldiers inched their way up the top displaying nerves of steel and utter disregard for their personal safety. It was a multdirectional attack and Ghatak Platoon under Lt Balwan Singh assaulted Tiger Hill through most difficult and unexpected approach with a very steep gradient with the help of ropes and mountaineering equipment and that took enemy by surprise. As the Ghataks reached on Top, it was hand to hand fight, during the fight an enemy machine gun opened fire injuring Lt Balwan Singh and two soldiers. One of the injured soldier was 19 year old Grenadier Yogendra singh yadav (Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav Param Vir Chakra) who in complete disregard of his injuries, charged forward towards the machine gun bunker, lobbed a grenade and fired his weapon killing four enemy soldiers and silencing the machine gun.He then continued engaging the enemy and refused medical evacuation. This brave act further motivated other members of Ghatak Platoon and they were than able to establish foothold on Top forcing enemy to retreat to reverse slopes. The bravery and tenacity with which the men fought and gave the supreme sacrifice of their lives on my orders, I certainly could have not asked for any bit more as they were right in front and took bullets on their chest. It is here i strongly feel that the camaraderie, regimental spirit and above all the love for our motherland that motivates us during such nerve wrecking trying times. The enemy kept on sending reinforcements and counter attack force along Western Spur but Ghatak Platoon held on to Top. For this act of most conspicuous gallantry Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav was awarded the Param Vir Chakra and Lt.Balwan Singh was awarded Maha Vir Chakra.Capt Sachin Nimbalkar awarded Vir Chakra and Hav Madam lal awarded Vir Chakra posthumously. The capture of Tiger Hill (Pic 4)proved to be a major turning point which hastened Pak Army's defeat and amost ended Kargil War.
