Since the day I took office, my top priority has been keeping San Franciscans safe. For months, we have been anticipating the possibility of some kind of federal deployment in our city. Our communities have already endured the painful impact of aggressive immigration enforcement. At the same time, we continue to see escalated operations across the country. For the last ten months, we have been taking steps to prepare for this kind of escalation here in San Francisco. And I want to be very clear: We are prepared. Just a few minutes ago, I signed an executive directive that will build on these preparations, strengthen the city’s support for our immigrant communities, and ensure our departments are coordinated ahead of any federal deployment. And while we cannot control the federal government, here in San Francisco, we define who we are. We stick to our values. We support our communities the way we always have.

With earlier completed roads in Modakeke by our administration, we will continue to deliver tangible, people-focused infrastructure and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt across Osun State.

Well, a second batch of 500 tractors will be delivered again in the coming weeks, because, initially, the goal was to give them 1000 tractors. By the way, Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 manufactures its own tractors 🚜 alright? In fact, we even make 100% solar tractors. We may have oil underneath that we have not started drilling yet, but at least, we have the sun 🌞 free of charge. Why not use it ? It was thanks to the first batch of 500 tractors that the State was able to plow thousands of hectares of farmlands for our strong and courageous farmers at no cost. And now, we are already harvesting wheat and rice in abundance. We must achieve food self-sufficiency in a record time. We have no time to waste. We must feed ourselves and the AES shall be the breadbasket of the region. We will achieve food security because, we are very intentional about it. Mark my words!

Yesterday, I visited the palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness, Zaiki Anthony Ehizojie Abumere Il, following the protest in Ekpoma that resulted in the attack of the palace and widespread destruction of property in the community. Having met with the stakestakeholders, I want to reassure the good people of Edo State that your safety remains my top priority. My administration has made strong investments in modern security equipment, intelligence gathering, and collaboration among security agencies, and these efforts are already yielding results in our fight against kidnapping, cultism, and other crimes. Let me be clear: Edo State will not be taken hostage by criminals or their sponsors. Anyone involved in kidnapping or any form of criminal activity will be tracked down and brought to justice. There will be no hiding place for them. Group Farming & Climate-Resilient Agriculture: The Future of Maharashtra! 🌱 Delighted to be a part of 'Satyamev Jayate Farmer Cup Awards 2024 Ceremony' in Balewadi, Pune with Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, thousands of farmers & champions across Maharashtra and team Paani Foundation. For many years, I have been closely observing the incredible initiatives of Paani Foundation. Aamir Khan, known for his perfectionism, initially started Paani Foundation in just 3 talukas, then expanded to 30, then 75, and today, the announcement for its implementation across the entire Maharashtra fills me with immense happiness and pride. Since 2015, Maharashtra has witnessed a Water Janandolan (people’s movement) through the Jalyukt Shivar initiative. During this, Aamir Khan and the Paani Foundation team stepped forward and volunteered. The initial planning and structures for various villages were developed, enabling 20,000 villages across Maharashtra to become self-reliant in tackling water scarcity. This Farmer Cup as the next step has greatly supported the group farming movement. Today, various farmer groups are actively working, and a new policy for group farming will be introduced. Additionally, the necessary assistance and support required for these groups will be provided. The Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Yojana, launched in collaboration with the World Bank, focuses on climate-resilient agriculture. The first phase, with an investment of ₹4,000 crore, was highly impactful, prompting the World Bank to approve ₹6,000 crore for the second phase. This phase has significantly improved and transformed farming practices. Additionally, villages that were initially not part of the scheme are now requesting inclusion, proving that this initiative has been immensely beneficial for farmers. The goal is to attract investment in farming, as capital expenditure will empower farmers and enhance their capabilities. Group farming will further benefit them by reducing costs and increasing production. Additionally, drip irrigation will be provided to farmers who request it, ensuring sustainable and efficient water use. The Ogaden Somali community in Lamu County have appealed to CS Aden Duale, President William Ruto, and Nooradin Haji over the injustices they face in Lamu. The Somali villagers report they are being forced by the State to relocate from their lands in Mokowe to make way for politicians to exploit their land. The President of Kenya and Northeastern leaders must address the land grab happening in Lamu County. For many years, we have watched the displacement of our locals from this county and the distribution of land to outsiders. This practice of using government title to steal land began with Jomo Kenyatta and must be put to stop by Ruto.

Today on our pilgrimage we met with the Nasser family on their farm, now commonly known as the Tent of Nations - located south of Bethlehem in occupied Palestine. The Nasser family are a Palestinian Christian family who have owned this farm for over 100 years. But 35 years ago, the Israeli authorities declared his farm and the surrounding area to be State land. Ever since then, the family have been engaged in a struggle to register and protect their farm. And with each passing year, settlements encroach on more and more of their land. But the Nassars continue their Tent of Nations work with steadfast nonviolence and faith, living their message every day: “We refuse to be enemies.” They are an example of creative, hopeful, Christian resistance to injustice and they need the support of Christians around the world. During my visit today I had the honour of planting an olive tree on the Nasser farm. At a time when many Palestinian Christians are leaving, olive trees are a symbol of their deep roots in this land. As this tree grows, I pray that peace grows too in Palestine and Israel. Please pray for the Nasser family, Palestinian Christians and all those working for a just peace in the Holy Land.

Yesterday in the State House, I led a delegation from Enugu State on an appreciation visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming our commitment to a partnership that is already delivering tangible results for our people.
